Dinner was great. Went there for a gig. O ly issue was smoking was allowed in small outdoor area near the open room gig. So venue wasn't smoke free.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating of special requests I made. Accommodation on the basic side but great location and value for money.

I stayed here in 2001 and had to come back and have a beer whilst I was visiting Adelaide. Has been spruced up a little bit since I last saw it but still has the same beautiful rustic sort of feel but in a nice new trendy enough kinda way. If I come back to Adelaide again and am by myself I'll definitely try and book in here to stay again and after looking at the pictures if your mostly planning to be outside and sightseeing like most people do on holidays then this place is perfect I reckon.

Opposite the Adelaide Central Markets entrance on Grote Street, the Metropolitan is a pretty relaxed front bar that has all the regular Coopers brews. A well maintained pinball machine lives near the main entrance. Fireplace in the opposite corner. Watched a World Cup football match there late on a Sunday. A great winter night was had by all.

Nice pub. Very basic accommodation. The single bed was comfy. Street noise was an issue. And a bit more furniture in the room would have been nice.

Decent pub with multiple bars and plenty of space. Good venue for a small band. They have a pinball machine that changes frequently. Not somewhere I would hang out if I hadn't already been drinking.

Awesome beer garden hidden out the back. Good selection, nice staff, nice setup. Worth spending time there, just a nice place to hang out.

Great place to spend your day's in Adelaide, close to everyplace in CBD, has a restaurant and they play music as well, perfect spot according to the price!

A very beautiful location that supports local music. Parking can be difficult, but public transport is everywhere. Great drink selection.

Terrible pub funded by pokies. You have to sign up for a membership card to access cheaper prices during happy hour. The activation doesn't work and the website is a nightmare to navigate. Staff were rude when the card didn't work plus they send out spam once you've joined. I'd avoid this pub.

Michael was an attentive and flexible host. He accommodated my requests and made me the best drink I had all night. Boom!

Reasonable priced meals that taste great. Just would love a choice of salad dressing to make it perfect. Setting is an old style pub in the city centre that's shows off its heritage and has a nice, central beer garden. Lots of good air flow and great outdoor seating makes this a great venue in summer and the shoulder months. Great atmosphere on a Friday for lunch or dinner. Also had a sports bar that is not to overwhelming, and pokies are tucked into a corner where they don't stand out as much as other hotels and pubs.

Bit confusing with the ratings. The bar is excellent, meals and drinks all great. The accommodation is a little less so, communal bathrooms and toilets and smaller rooms. Rooms are great if you're on a budget as they're cheap. Unless the test cricket is on.

Very basic room. No kettle or hair-dryer. Shared bathrooms clean but a bit mouldy. Good location, quite a lot of street noise.

I went there specifically because they had advertised a type of low volume beer on their website. They had run out. Not impressed. Service was good and it was cosy.

I've consistently received terrible meals from the Metro, but continued to return because colleagues keep choosing it for celebration lunches. This time I received an $18 burnt chicken schnitzel and was offered $8 roast beef as replacement. You'd be forgiven for thinking I would also receive a refund. I won't be returning, even if colleagues do choose it again.

Pretty cool pub in the heart of Adelaide. Restaurant has a non-smoking beer garden, though it can be pretty crowded. Does have a lot of heritage about it.

Interesting mix of clientèle in the different areas, fairly good drink selection. The cozy back area supports a variety of underground music scenes.

The Metro is great as a musical venue with a very personal atmosphere and a variety of different spaces. They host tonnes of different types of bands in their two performance spaces and it's in a very convenient location.

Why is there no ham on your damn Chicken Parma's? Yes, parma, with an "a". Like the way it should be pronounced! Beer choices good though. Keep that for sure.

$7.50 for a schooner? I thought that Sydney was bad. The grog here must be brewed from the holy water from the abundance of local churches in the metropolis adelaide.

The bar: smelled like cigarettes and was small and pokey, drink prices were ok — atmosphere not great.

The room hasn't toilet. But it's good location.

No air conditioning. I mean at 42 degrees. Its a shame to have a ceiling fan that is not sufficient for this temperature. No tea or coffee kettle in room. Shared bathroom. Great location though. Wifi worked well.

The metro was built built as a 25 bed hotel in 1883. Constructed of Bluestone rubble, chamfered corners, with a dominant balcony and verandahs. These rooms are still used and available for accommodation. The present owners have kept the character of this 19th century hotel. It is clean, tidy, inviting with excellent food and service. We chose for lunch a very well prepared Salmon dish and kangaroo steak, with a fresh salad. Finishing with a very pleasant coffee. Open 7 days, breakfast sat, $8.00 lunch specials, classic Pub accommodation, live bands, Beer Garden, alfresco. This was a great find.
