Was very disappointed with my experience at this hotel.
Parking was shocking had to drive around the Carpark for 15min plus until someone left.
Then had to walk for ages to find the entrance to the lobby from the Carpark more signage would be helpful.
Check in was extremely slow and had to stand in line in the heat.
Paid $186 for a single room for the night air con didn't work so had too rely on the wind through the balcony door on a 34degree day room was dingy and small / outdated.
Overall not a great experience would not recommend it.

I remember this place when it was Hotel Chancellor. Glad to have come back as I have experience great service, security were great and even the food by Novotel.

Great views of the ocean great location family room very spacious and comfortable surrounded by resturants… just dont eat here breakfast a huge let down food quality decor and cleanliness all well below acceptable standard.

Lovely welcome on arrival from Ali concierge. He collected our bags and delivered them to our room within minutes of arriving. Babu was very friendly on reception. We were still in awe of Ali from concierge as this was such a pleasant contrast to our last stay at PULLMAN Brisbane where concierge staff were somewhat lacking!

Always great. Only whinge was didn’t have wine we requested on check in.

Such an amazing experience staying at the Novotel — Surfers Paradise. Was blown away by the team members — the customer service, the room, the view and location was all superb. We will be back!

Very responsive staff! Great location too. Close to the beach and shopping. Complementary breakfast buffet had a nice selection, but only one person making omlets and it was busy. Only complaint is the lack of water pressure in the shower.

— Wifi access is charged separately. In Australia, the definition of a 4-star hotel is "Properties which achieve a deluxe guest experience. " having to pay separate for a service as basic as Internet access didn't feel like a "deluxe guest experience" to me. — The parking ticket we received didn't work on the way out. When asking for help at the reception desk the staff refused to help and suggested I got in touch with the car park company. I was only because another guest came with the same problem that they ended up manually opening the car park gate for us. — Piles of trash accumulate by the basement lift, which only opens late in the morning. This means, if you are on a wheelchair or require a lift for whichever reason, you won't be able to access the hotel premises from the car park.

This place has absolutely no sound proofing, and I was unlucky enough to get a room right next to the lifts (in fact, at least on my floor all rooms were right next to the lifts). It was very loud, I kept on getting woken up. On top of that, the lifts are very slow, the Wi-Fi is not great, and if you happened to be in the room when the cleaners came then too bad, they don't come back so you'll just miss out on the cleaning. Otherwise it's a decent enough hotel: the rooms are basic but clean, the views are nice, and the location is very good.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Novotel — what a fantastic hotel for families and at such excellent value! We stayed in a gorgeous family suite which had a king bed and a separate area which had 2 twin beds, so the kids had their own private area which was nice. This also means there is plenty of space, and you don't feel like you are on top of each other like you often do in so called family rooms. We had an ocean view room — which had lovely views. Loved the rooftop bar — drinks and live music where kids were welcomed was nice. The pool area is stunning too — but it was winter during our stay so we didn't use the pool. The location is excellent for families as you can easily walk to all the attractions in the area and the beach is only 5 minutes away. Woolworths is right downstairs which is perfect to get any snacks and drinks too. Absolutely loved out stay here and would highly recommend it for families — oh and take the buffer breakfast option — its delicious!

We stayed here for four nights. Based on my experience: Positive: It is perfectly located. The rooms are comfy, staff are helpful, the place is lively. The breakfast is acceptable and the car park is conveniently located. Could improve: the lift to the car park doesn't work at nights. There are no (paid) mini bar or snacks in the room.

Very nice rooms and helpful staff. The rooms could do with better soundproofing, we could hear everything that went on out in the halls all night. Perfect location though.

The floor was not very clean, quite dusty. Buffet breakfast was very basic. Comfortable bed. Great location right in the center. Walkable to the beach.

The room with sea view is really beautiful, there is a family of four can live in two suites, really great!
Hotel location is really the best, winter Gold Coast, not many people, but there are good fine sand, as well as warm sea water, beautiful beach! Can enjoy, do not have to 㨈 people, I think is the best time to come, and at this time the hotel is cheap, easy to order,

Very good service accor were brilliant here. Loved the refurb of the room especially the carpet being replaced! The new flooring has made a huge difference. There's still a few things that need attention like the food from room service and time it takes to get your food. But this was the best hotel on our holiday.

Great view of landscape from upper floors. However Wi-Fi service awful connection keeps dropping in hotel rooms. Bathtub very slippery and no non slip rubber mats available. Breakfast buffet limited, just about the same thing each day. Good shopping area even on hotel compound. Various restaurants within walking distance and beach just as close. I suppose there is good and bad in everything.

Breakfast delicious, high-rise landscape like ' clean need to strengthen, bath towel spare, bed bad sleep, counter service excellent, very patient.

We had quite a nice room but everything feels in need of a refurbishment. The staff are friendly and helpful. I probably wouldn’t bother with the rooftop bar if I was to stay again!

Location was great, staff were great but the room needed new or at least clean drapes and a carpet upgrade. At least two of the, (what I call service elevators), look like they belong to a Soviet era hospital. The breakfast, well don't do it. On top of our eye popping $990 two night stay we found that we would have to pay extra for the privilege of eating cold pastries, hard edged pancakes and a tasteless omelette. I mean if you're going to do people over you may as well go the whole hog hey. Shocker!

11:00AM check out. All 3 elevators from ground level to basement garage are out of order at the same time at 6pm. Needed to carry lots of thing and walked on the stairs. An old hotel that was redone. I can hear elevator sound in the room. These set of chairs in the photo must be from long time ago. View is ok when you pay more.

I attended a seminar at the Novotel. The room was adequate for the size however the presentation screen was between 2 large windows which wasn't ideal. The food quality was very good, lunch was plentiful but morning and afternoon tea was limited. I didn't stay in the hotel. It was very handy for the tram and for local shopping.

Had the best night ever! Got there & my room got upgraded, walked into the room to a beautiful birthday card and a free bottle of wine. (Thank you Lucy) I had Beautiful view. My breakfast came to me this morning & she came into say Happy Birthday to me with with some free chocolate. Was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend.

Went on a seafood buffet night but there were no crabs or bugs as stated (prawns, oysters and mussels). Hot food and salad selection was great. Dessert very small selection.

Terrible customer service. One staff attitude is very rude during my stay. I wasn’t sure about something, I was asking politely, but ended up being tell off by the staff. This already can ruin everything. To top managers, please make sure every staff has basic customer service standard. Be polite to the guests. My friend also had a bad experience with one of the staffs here. We can try to understand no connection to Wi-Fi. But bad customer services would be a reason we will never come back. I don’t normally write reviews, but this time I was shock how bad a hotel customer service can be.

2 bedroom apartments were just right for us. Beds were comfy and clean. First time ever to pay for parking and was disappointed to walk a distance as the shoppers were taking most of the closer parks. Hot breakfast choices were left in bainmaries too long, but the variety of cereals, juices, breads etc were lovely. Enjoyed our stay overall.

Hotel with a nice view. Room are small but we'll maintain. Lobby is small but beautiful. Very close too the sea so nice view. Located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Novotel Surfers Paradise is surrounded by immaculate beaches, spirited nighlife and fun-filled theme parks. All rooms feature a private balcony with lovely ocean or city views.   Airport is a 30-minute drive away.

Nice hotel right in the middle of surfers. We got one of the refurbished rooms, which was nice and modern. Bathroom is a little small but clean and functional. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only issues are the parking — not really enough parking close to the hotel lifts, which makes unloading luggage a bit of a pain, and the slow lifts. You can spend awhile waiting for one to come during peak periods, though one of the lifts was out of order during our stay so it might be better when all the lifts are functioning properly?

Merry Christmas — our Elevators are broken. 4 bedroom room super cramped with a bathroom for one. Ok breakfast, but the signup process at the front door is a useless waste of time.

Staff were great. Plus modern, comfortable rooms and bathrooms really made it more than a base. Right on the middle of surfers action without being too noisy.

Good location and friendly staffs. Hotel under security between 10pm till 6am. Room is clean and nice view either sea or city view. Sound isolation is bad. No free Wi-Fi at room. No toothbrush, toothpaste and shaver provided.

Great location. Close to shops and beach. Our room was very clean, ocean views, daily house keeping. The buffet breakfast was awesome. Pool area was good. All staff were extremely helpful and polite. See you next time.

We booked a family room for 5-nights. The room was average. The fridge was empty, absolutely no water. During our stay we found the front desk and Concierge mostly unattended and uninterested to assist. You ask front desk for something and they would send you to unattended Concierge just 2-3 feet away. The check-out was disappointing as well. We picked our baggage little later from cloakroom, again had to press the bell to get someone at concierge. Then had to load all my luggage myself on the trolley and push it to the taxi while the staff at reception became spectators. Poor show.

Great location, tidy room, reasonable rates. Only bad part of our stay was the shower HWS. It was all or nothing.

Rooms are beautiful, we had two city view and one with beach view. Both were equally impressive. Breakfast was well catered for and inclusive in our stay. Great location close too everything. Would stay there again without hesitation.

One of the best motels I've stayed in. The service is just wonderful and very obliging and willing to help anyway possible. The room wasn't as nice as anticipated, but the cleanliness made up for it. The facilities they have available are great. And the complementary breakfast is absolutely Devine.

Very disappointed with the rooms here. Old chipped tiles, bathrooms at least 20 years old and probably the worst shower ever experienced at a hotel. It's just a little metal nozzle sticking out of the wall at about 1.6m so if you're any taller you have to bend your knees to enjoy the trickle of water it lets out. It felt like we were staying in a cheap motel but paying premium prices for location. I have stayed at many other Novotel hotels but this is a very poor comparison.

Old hotel, age does shows up on the fixtures. The layout is a bit odd, with the pantry an extension of the sink. Nonetheless, it's a comfortable and clean room. Basic amenities are there, so there's nothing to complain about.

We just spent 3 nights, location, staff and views were great our room was in very poor condition mould around vanity taps and bath, enamel peeling off. Very dated and not to the 4 star quality of other Novotels if they offer you room 1110 ask for another cheers Paul.

We had a king standard room in the 6th floor. Room is okay with average size. Looks very old. Some facilities like mini bar, eating plates and cutlery are missing. They are charging $17 per night for parking, and sharing the shopping centre parking spot. It is always nightmare to find the parking. This is actually a 3 star hotel.

Service is good. From reception to room cleaning it is typical Novotel. The room is large as advertised but it is old and isn't 4 star as expected from Novotel. This is a massive departure from my experience with other Novotel properties. Plus there are no slippers, free bottle of water or free Wi-Fi. Not what is expected from the Novotel brand. But the room is clean and the service is good. If you are a regular Novotel visitor then temper your expectations.

The price and location aren't an issue but more the rooms are quite basic. One time we stayed here, the aircon didn't work and when we asked the staff they said there was nothing they could do. Other than that the hotel does it's job and we've enjoyed our multiple stays.

We had a wonderful renovated room on the 31st floor looking out at the Surfers Paradise Beach. The bed was slightly harder than ideal, but the pillows were great. The restaurant on site is below cafe standard in quality but for the price worthwhile — buffet all you can eat. The staff were very friendly and happy to give the extra time for my questions. My only issue with the room was a weak air conditioner and a weak shower. One of the best locations, would recommend, especially for the price.

Disgusting, I booked my two daughters and a friend in, called to check that it was ok for my 19 year old daughter to check in with her 17 year old sister and 19 year old friend, they said yep no problem as long as the person checking in is over 18" They arrived looking forward to a weekend on the coast, they drove there after work 2 hours away, got there at 9:55 front door was locked, smart arse behind counter waved a key at them. The doors closed at 10 so why were the doors not open? Doorman let them in, stopped the girls friend who is a very good friend of our family, a Samoan Islander also 19, and said "Erh, where do you think you're going, are you checking in too? " He said "Yes, I'm with them" He let them go to the counter, my daughter said "we would like to sign in please" person on counter said, with a sarcastic smirk "don't you mean check in? ". My daughter said "yes please we have a room booked, " Receptionist "how old are you? " My daughter said "19" and produced her ID. The receptionist in a very condescending manner said "well how old is she then? " my daughter replied, she's 17 and she's my sister, " well you can stay but she can't " my daughters said "well we won't be staying then because I'm not leaving her, at 10 o'clock on a Saturday night. "They rang me to let me know what had happened, my youngest daughter was in tears and my eldest daughter was fretting! "What are we going to do Mum?

Great location in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Great rooms with equally great views, pool and buffet breakfast. The staff do everything they can to ensire your stay is relaxed and hassle free. Great for overnight or a week family holiday.

Their publicized 4.5 star rating is a bit of a stretch. Small pokey room that was meant to be the deluxe king suite with ocean views. Bathroom had mould all over it and the Shower ran cold the first night we arrived, cheap and nasty mattress that left us both with back pain as you could feel the springs. Mini bar fridge was completely empty on arrival and then to top it off the only ocean views you got was when you leant out over the balcony. Will not be staying here ever again complete waste of money.

Great clean rooms as expected. We had the buffet dinner with a slight hiccup (which happens) but was handled expertly and professionally. Beautiful buffet breakfast. Will definitely be back there. Only place to stay at Surfers. Bad side is VERY POOR Wi-Fi… This day and age it should be better.

Great location! Centrally located within minutes to beach n other entertaining venues, lovely service n friendly staff, was upgraded to ocean view for nothing! Highly recommended!

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were mediocre at premium prices. My family and I travelled down to the gold coast for my mum's 50th! This was supposed to be for a special occasion and was tainted from the time we went to check in. At first we were told that one of our rooms wasn't ready because they had to defrost the freezer? 40 minutes later, we got a call to say the room was ready. We took our bags up only to be left dissapointed that this was not the room we had booked and paid for. If it was a last minute booking I could understand but when you book something in advance you expect to get what you pay for. I was then told that the spa in our room was faulty and we couldn't stay there (for obvious reasons), when I asked to be moved to another room as the same one we booked, I was told that nothing was available. The manager at reception had just started his shift and spent a lot of time clicking his mouse with no positive results. My family and I decided to not waste any more time and went up to our rooms. The bathroom had mould in the shower and the overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired for. A total waste of time. If the hotel had of been upfront with us from the start we would have reacted a little differently than we did instead we were told a lie after another. At the end of the day, if you want your travel plans ruined then be sure to check in to this hotel.

Great hotel, lovely staff and well kept facilities. However, the Wi-Fi is really, REALLY poor. Keeps dropping out so you need to keep re-entering the details. It's actually worse than having no Wi-Fi at all because it drops out all the time. If management advertises that Hotel has Wi-Fi then it should work correctly. We had three rooms there between 11-18th April, 2016 to house us all. My children in all three rooms experienced the same, very poor Wi-Fi reception. The staff at the hotel agree and seemed to be embarrassed about it all. Not their fault I suppose. However, all the other facilities were excellent and the staff were very nice. The hotel is very old and out dated and does not even come close to it's publicised star rating. Rooms are run down and in bad repair. The air-conditioning in our room did not work after being in for 4 hours and after moving to another room, it took ages to cool but that room had an overpowering musky smell. Though, being midnight and having an early morning flight, we let things go. Positive, it's location is very close to the beach and close to all surrounding entertainment. Not a hotel for I and I will not be returning.

You couldn't find a more centrally located hotel in Surfers Paradise. It's worth paying top dollar for ocean view rooms, you will hear the avenue but the ocean will drown it out. With a few minor tweaks to service things could have been better. Will strongly consider staying here again.

Decent place with exorbitant prices!

The room was lovely but I think its quite ridiculous how you have to go all the way to the ground floor for a smoke. Also the shower pressure was terrible and couldnt wash my body properly koz there was hardly any water coming out. And the price of movies on the TV is ridiculous! $18 for one movie!

The room was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. The only thing that turned us off was the noise. We were on a side that just got noise from the night clubs and street below pretty much all night.

Perfect location! The room was amazing, great customer service although you had to pay a delivery fee every time you ordered room service!

I stayed at the Hotel Grand Chancellor from the 1st — 6th of August and I will say it was one of the worst Hotels I've ever stayed at, mind you I stayed at a backpackers in Sydney once which was a lot more decent then this place. I upgraded my room from a standard to a deluxe king room which was crap. I can't even begin to imagine what my room would of been like if I didn't upgrade. The second day there I found 2 cockroaches in my bathroom on the towel that id used the night before, I called reception and they said there was nothing they could do about it, the staff were rude, and seemed like they didn't want to be there. It was a very unpleasant stay and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I think that The Courtyard By Marriott is great! It has a wonderful view and is in a great location! I think it is a very good place and… yes, I really like it.
