Lovely clean room, friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous view, close to shops, restaurants and across road from beach. Second time staying here, will definitely be back.

Didn’t answer the phone for an hour, cleanliness of the rooms was poor. Photos uploaded to share. Please do not stay here. Couch had dust on its surface underneath the pull out bed was good from previous residents. Absolutely poor service. Wouldn’t replace throughout duration of a 4 night stay.

Poor service… do not answer their reception phone… refuse to replace towels… exceptionally VERY POOR SEVICE… DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

We had a lovely room with good Seaview. Pool was beautiful and clean. A really nice place to stay. We would come here again.

Very very good. My family from new Zealand used to stay there a lot when they used to come over from new Zealand, it was very nice. The lobby looked really good with the water feature thing when you walk in. The design of the lobby looks really nice because then it has the stairs that go up to the next level and it looks really good. The pool is also very nice and very good for all ages. There is a shallow pool for younger people or people that want to just relax and theres also a bigger pool that has two slides. The slides are well maintained and very fun too.

Great to have Aldi, Woolworths and the movies under one roof, so convenient to where we stayed within walking distance on holidays. Therefor did not need a car at all, (which we always do). Saving us a packet.

Nice place to stay. Great location, and probably one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Next time we're up that way we will be staying there again.

We are in a time share unit with ULTIQA. It is nice enough and clean but being our first time we only booked a one bedroom with a fold out double bed thinking it would be big enough for us and the 2 kids. Unfortunately just a tad to small, our mistake and will book a bigger unit next time. Would be perfect for a couple though. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. Hotel is central to everything you need in Coolangatta. Pool is heated so great place for a break all year round as long as the wind isn’t blasting. Adjoining cafe has good food and coffee and staff were very helpful to accommodate gluten free options for our daughter who is a coeliac. Would defiantly return.

We had a lovely stay here. Very comfy beds and right across the street from the beach. Staff were extremely helpful and service was excellent.

Nice deluxe cosy hotel in Coolangatta Gold Coast. Quiet environment with many restaurants and shopping mall nearby. Suitable for friends and family. Must stay.

When we arrived on our qst day of our well deserved holiday the receptionist that greeted us wasent very friendly. But the rest of our week long stay the other reception staff were friendly & helpful.

Apartment was beautiful and clean, beds and pillows were so comfortable, best sleep. Nice balcony and views, bathroom was a good decent size and love that the apartment is self contained and has the best air-con! We felt so comfortable with the right temp in our room.
Hubby loved that it had Fox Sports. Love the pool area with so many deck chairs to relax on. Fantastic location! Beautiful Coolangatta Beach across the street and all the amazing Restaurants, Shops, Ci…nemas and Woolies all in walking distance. Best of all the staff were all lovely friendly and served with a smile, definitely be back. *the only thing I can say negative was that there was no dish washing liquid or tablets or a sponge to do dishes so I had to improvise. But cos it was only minor and we enjoyed our stay so much, you still deserve 5*.

Room location certainly was not up to the web photos posted for a premium exclusive room. Yes we had sea views of your were looking sideways from balcony, but not straight on as shown when booking. For $360.00 a night, 30 min of free Wi-Fi is a joke. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A great place for business travel. I found it very well situated, with great access to Coolangatta Beach and the main strip. If you're a walker, there is a lovely trail around the headlands, taking you around to Rainbow Bay and other beaches. Great access to cafes and shops along Marine Tce, too. The accommodation itself is perhaps a little out of date, but, that is also part of its charm. I enjoyed my time.

Love this place. So close to everything, beach, food, supermarkets. We're going to make it an annual family holiday.

He had an ocean view room and it was lovely, slept with door open to hear waves crush all night. The Oaks has a great pool too although the waterslides do not really strong enough flow to propel adults, great for the children however. There was also a great little craft market out the front on the Sunday. Also the location is close to everything food, shops etc that coolangatta has to offer. Staff were friendly and reception is open 24/7 which is very handy.

Great place to go with kids. Pool area has slides and loads of swimming space. Beach is literally across the road, and its an amazing beach. Pubs, bars and restaurants are all on the street metres from you. Only improvement here would be the cleanliness of the rooms was average.

BED BUGS?! I was staying in Oaks Calypso Plaza, room 256 on 23-24th of December 2017. While I and my husband sleeping, my husband started to scratching his body quite badly, and finally woke up in the early morning, around 4 am. On his body, there are a lot of marks as like bitten by something, and we found a bunch of bed bugs on the bed. The bugs were all red, and quite a big size as well, I guess how much they sucked our blood during that night. I called the reception (Michael) immediately to get an advice and also I asked him to change the room. And he said; 1. Go to the hospital if needed ; 2. Will change the sheets. That is not a solution to change the sheets for bed bugs! I asked him to come to check on his eyes, but he refused. Because there is no one at the reception that time. I also asked him to send someone as housekeeping staff or other staff to our room for checking, he also refused it due to no ones there. I and my husband ran to the Emergency hospital to see a Doctor, my husband took some medication. That is around 4:30am. We back to the hotel to see the manager at 6 am in the morning after discharged from the hospital, and explained what was our experience. The frontier manager Sam said; 1. The main manager will be back on Wednesday due to a holiday, so contact the manager by Email and the manager will contact me on Wednesday. 2. She went to the room before we back, but could not find any bed bugs. 3.

Beautiful appartments, clean and comfortable, and the swimming pools are wonderful as it has a kids pool that has the same depth throughout the pool, so quite safe for the kids while parents can sit in the spa and observe the kids. Close to all the local restaurants and beach, car can stay in the hotel’s parking, don’t need the car. Beds are very cosy and comfortable. Only thing is I couldn’t close small windows in the bathroom and kitchen so a couple of dragon flies got in.

Fantastic place to stay if you just want accommodation in a great location. The rooms at either end of the horseshoe are a loooong walk from the elevators. The pool is very shallow, only 0.9 metres deep. Paid $18 for 24.0 hours Wi-Fi and only got 6 hours of very slow connection. Something wrong with the timer so you don't get anywhere near what you pay for. First code lasted less than 4.0 hours so I got another code after complaining but the second code also lasted less than 4.0 hours. If you will spend most of your time at the beach or shops then you will love the location. There is nothing at the apartments to do and they are starting to show their age. Parking is a shambles and service is only average.

Stayed here on 28th to 29th September. Rooms and service was lovely and clean. Unfortunately street lost power and not turned on till around 8pm.

I love this place, we visit at least once a year. Fantastic facilities for families, straight accross from the beach & waking distance to shops and restaurants. Perfect!

Very clean and the new pool/ spa area is great. The only downside was the TV & aircon in the room was very out dated. We would return back to the Calypso.

Very clean & comfortable. Directly opposite the beach with almost every type of food nearby yet still quiet. When pool reno finished will have to be largest & best in area. Will be back.

Nice room, but spa and pool were closed. Also gym isn't what you would expect unfortunately. No free weights or even a squat rack.

I booked ocean view room. It was a bad choice, as it's too far to walk from the lift to the room … another think I was not happy about, is the windows or the balcony does not have a fly screen. Which makes me not opening the windows at night … Otherwise the room is good size … I recommend to everyone to book a pool view its cheaper and has a side ocean view … I am not empress with the reception staff. Staff me of them not happy to help you … I like the resort. Great location. I hope I know it before I book … that may help me to choice the right room …

I've stayed here a few times now and the kids love it. Can't wait to go back and stay there again.

Clean and fresh rooms. A 2 minute walk to the shops and a whole bunch of restaurants. Excellent place for families to stay.

Stayed for a weekend on a deal through Kogan Travel. Great location centrally located in the main Street of Tweed. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and services located near by. The outdoor pool and spa area was great. Plenty of space and chairs to laze around. Located directly opposite the beach with easy resident access through the pool area to the beach. The hotel was built a few years ago, and is showing its age. That said, the building was being renovated during my stay. Highly recommended.

I love the calypso because there is so much stuff to do.

The location was fantastic and generally if you go to Gold coast you want to stay at Surfers Paradise but not after visiting Coolangatta and away from the hustle bustle of surfers. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops of all kinds exactly what you want when you go on a holiday right at your doorstep. For a family of 4 with young kids the room was decent size and they had a pull out sofa bed where the children could sleep. The room had a mini kitchen with an electric stove, fridge and I wouldn't call it the cleanest room I've been too. The rooms facing the back face the beach which is great to hear the waves lashing against the sands while you sleep peacefully. The staff were very friendly and were always there when you needed them 24/7. There is a locked underground car park so you can sleep untroubled that your car is safe and which can only be accessed by a swipe card. The hotel has a great pool for the kids with slides and a mini jacuzzi which the kids would greatly enjoy and his open till late at night. There is a gym and a games room to get away from the troubles of the world. The Beach is just a stone's throw away and can be accessed by the back door of the resort. Would recommend to all.

Wow. This place is amazing. Great for families. Has the best pool in the Gold Coast. They will be refurbishing the apartments soon and I can't wait to see it next year. 10/10.

The location is great and some of the grounds pretty nice but the resort itself is starting to get quite dated. It'll do OK if you're planning on spending quite a bit of time out and about.

I was there for a conference and decided to book extra couple of days. I dont know what the other rooms were like but 142 was disgraceful. We had the gargbage funnel outside our roo, heard rubbish dropping all hours and at 5.30am they empty it right under our room. The smokers use a little hidy hole directly under the room which filled our room with smoke. I complained twice and the staff saw to it immediately. There was no follow up and didnt stop smokers. The people upstairs watered the plants that ended up spilling on our patio and my head. The flag pole outside banged contiually. There is a tree in front of the patio so you dont have a view of anything. Fan in bedroom was dirty. We werent even asked when leaving if we enjoyed our stay. Won't stay again And the price should have been $50 a night because it is only 1star accomodation.

The biggest issue I have is that after over a week passing since checking out, I had to ring them direct to ask for my "$150 bond" back. I think I would still be waiting if I hadn't. I won't be back. Getting very dated. Carpets in the passage way heavily stained, but the room was clean.

The place was a disgrace to the Oaks name. Substandard room. Supposed to be a 2brm exec apptmnt — it was horrible. Dirty unsafe happy if they listed it as 2 star not 4.5 star. Would not recommend to anyone.

We just left hotel after two nights living in so-called 4 star hotel. 1. When you call reservation from room, you need to be much more patient! 2. There are three TVs in rooms, one does not work, one's remote controller cannot change any channel, and one works but cannot get good signals so that we could not watching TV CONTINUESLY! 3. All facilities in rooms are too old! 4. The most important is that there are so many tiny ants around in the rooms! 5. The cover is so terriblly broken like it has been used for thousand years! 6. The capet is very diry, you can see the marks around. . It just does not look like a 4 star hotel with very expensive fee on each room.

Cheap and cheerful but the $99 special is a bit rude as if you want to use the sofa bed they sting you $40 for sheets.
