BED BUGS?! I was staying in Oaks Calypso Plaza, room 256 on 23-24th of December 2017. While I and my husband sleeping, my husband started to scratching his body quite badly, and finally woke up in the early morning, around 4 am. On his body, there are a lot of marks as like bitten by something, and we found a bunch of bed bugs on the bed. The bugs were all red, and quite a big size as well, I guess how much they sucked our blood during that night. I called the reception (Michael) immediately to get an advice and also I asked him to change the room. And he said; 1. Go to the hospital if needed ; 2. Will change the sheets. That is not a solution to change the sheets for bed bugs! I asked him to come to check on his eyes, but he refused. Because there is no one at the reception that time. I also asked him to send someone as housekeeping staff or other staff to our room for checking, he also refused it due to no ones there. I and my husband ran to the Emergency hospital to see a Doctor, my husband took some medication. That is around 4:30am. We back to the hotel to see the manager at 6 am in the morning after discharged from the hospital, and explained what was our experience. The frontier manager Sam said; 1. The main manager will be back on Wednesday due to a holiday, so contact the manager by Email and the manager will contact me on Wednesday. 2. She went to the room before we back, but could not find any bed bugs. 3. Also, the bed bugs are not a hotel's fault, because its all come along with another customer. 4. There are no apologies at all. 5. No suggestions to exchange the room or something like that even we will be checked out at 10 am. 6. I told her how this has happened even in luxury hotel, and how we can trust this hotel after this, and Sam replied; it is up to me trust this hotel or not, but the hotel does not do anything wrong. And said again, she could not see anything. 7. She has been working here for 4years and never heard about this complaint, and this is first-time ever. — > I traveled and lived around in Australia and World for last 11years. This is also the first experience to me EVER! And how I expected the BED BUGS In LUXURY HOTEL! As soon as talked with the frontier manager Sam, We back home immediately. I and my husband are not a traveler, we are living in Brisbane since last year, We just want to spend a nice Christmas holiday in your hotel, especially I am pregnant at the moment. This experience ruined our holiday, waste money, waste time! And now there is extra concerned about me as pregnant women that the reaction bitten by bed bugs. It started couple hours before, and I could not see the GP tomorrow due to Christmas holiday. I understand that can be happened anyone and anywhere, but your service and response makes me so disappointed and loses the trust. I attached a few pictures, that bed bugs all different one. Also, one of the pictures; that shown a little black spot on the entire bed, that is a bug as well. We took the entire bed with bugs to prove that is this hotel bed exactly! I am looking forward to hearing from Manager on Wednesday. People who will you stay in this hotel, Please check make sure there is no bed bugs on your bed before sleep!
