Refusing to refund for a cancelled booking. Blaming Expedia and Expedia are blaming you. How convenient. So dishonest and so disappointing.

My two young daughters and I recently stayed for nine nights at the Ibis Turbot Street and cannot rate our experience highly enough. Its location was incredible being only a couple of blocks in one direction from Roma St station and from the Queen St Mall in the other where we did some serious shopping. Each day we came home to our room it was beautifully made up and there were lovely messages and surprises waiting for the girls. We enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast each morning for a wonderful price, were able to access the pool and gymnasium at Mercure which adjoined the hotel. The staff were kind and compassionate to the girls. We felt safe comfortable and very happy in our little room. In fact, the kids were sad to leave even if my credit card was breathing a sigh of relief. We will definitely be back and the girls have asked that we stay here again. That's the best feedback possible as kids are brutally honest. Thanks again to Gabriela, who provided us with detailed maps and directions for all our booked activities. She was available at all times and responded to emails promptly. Coming from a regional area, we felt that we received "good old fashioned respectful service" with the attractions of a big city. Thanks again Gabriela and Ibis as your accommodation offered a travelling mum peace of mind and some wonderful memories to take home. Regards, Belinda.

The reception staff were absolutely brilliant and went far and beyond expectations. The lady that checked me in was so polite and just so suited to the business she will always get return customers due to her experience and great service, I just wish I had her name so Management could pass on my many thanks.

Comfortable spacious room, helpful staff.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel until thorough cleanliness is made… Our room was quite dusty, smelt musty and had the most dirtiest carpet I have ever seen in a hotel there were stains in so many places, The bathroom shower head spurts out everywhere when showering due to needing the head cleaned or replaced, one towel in bathroom looked like it had never been washed and had stains on it so we were then worried to use other two available towels as we weren’t sure if they have been washed eithor but we took a chance. The Walls are terrible all marked and stained so would be a good idea to do some cleaning there too maybe some painting too, All air vents are in terrible unclean state very dusty and dirty… One thing I can say though is the beds were lovely and comfy and staff was lovely too so Thankyou for that. Price of $160 a night wasn’t worth the state of the room we got… Sorry I couldn’t recommend this hotel. Hopefully if we choose to stay again in the future we will see the changes and can change this recommendation.

Great Staff.

Well located, reasonably priced, good sized & clean room and friendly staff (front desk, dining, and housekeeping), lovely breakfast. We didn't request for an early check-in or late check-out but we were let in once we arrived (around 11:30) and the check-out was 11am. Our plan was to just drop off our bag and wander around while waiting the time to check-in. Very generous. We also enjoyed the pool games in the bar area (remember to bring 3 x $1 coins). … Overall it was a pleasant stay. We will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to our family and friends. Please pass on our thanks to your team.

Right in the City and lots of food options within walking distance.

We flew from Canada Overall, it was a good place to staywe had a nice view from our room which was quite spacious Best thing I loved about it that it was close to all the amenities, huge Queen St. Mall, (loved it) iand the Harbour, lots of activities and entertainments just 5 minutes walk.

I stayed here recently and I loved it, after the complain I made about the room next door to me the staff were so understanding and moved me to the floor above.
Only slight issue was the exhaust fan, there wasn’t one but despite that I loved my stay, each day I came back to my room the tea and coffee making facilities were refilled, bins were emptied, new towels and new bed sheets were also done.
Would definitely come here again when I come to Brisbane.

Rooms are ok however there is nowhere to hang your towels in the bathroom except for one hook on the back of the door. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The fridge is not cold at all. The power points are few and far between for charging your ph. Anyway… at least the beds are really comfortable.

Great location. We were attending an event at the Mecure and there is a passage way that joins the hotels together which is awesome. The beds are comfortable with plenty of room. Parking is not ideal as your can't reserve a spot before getting to the hotel. Great value accommodation!

Very clean. Friendly staff. 24 hr check in. Really comfortable beds. Excellent location. 2 min walk to a 7eleven for cheap snacks and breakfast pastries. Wld 100% stay again. Only negatives are weak fan in bathroom and bring your own pillow as theirs are too high and have no support.

Having an excellent breakfast when hiking a city is important to me, and the Ibis shines in the mornings. There is a broad selection of hot foods, with English style egg, bacon and sausage trays among some Asian options. There are two rows of fruit and yogurt options, plus juices, croissants and dry cerals or pancakes. No hot oatmeal but the rest is great. Worth the price and kept me going all day time, perhaps for you too. Lifts have card swipe security though the middle one malfunctioned for me even after recoding card. Lift s are fast, too, so no problem taking a high floor. Carpets are short commercial office type and there were visible stains. Cleaning was good to excellent depending on who did it that day, with slightly varying styles. Boxed wraps and a curry option from the front desk were not cheap, but good and convenient. Location is excellent, as expected, a short walk from Queen St mall or the Victoria bridge to the South Bank cultural Paradise and river cruises. Paint on walls could use a refresher and entrance needs a more obvious sign for Ibis — — it is easy to walk right by without noticing. Staff friendly both on floor and at desk. Price competitive at $100 /night but at 130 you might do better than this basic value.

It was a lovely stay easy check in and out our rooms was quiet and the bed was so comfy breakfast was ok for the price the only disappointment was over hearing the chef complain to the waitress ordering that we had 6 at our table and we would like it all out around same time since we only ordered mains but had to wait for my side salad he gave us extra chips for the wait which was already turn away from our table as a wrong order we were the first table to order at 6:15 pm
Sadly it only takes 1 to affect all the other staff who works so hard to give customers a great experience.

Loved the bed! The room was so quiet and dark. A massive improvement over the 'Hotel Riverside' at southbank which I stayed at for two nights before. The bed was so uncomfortable : (the buffet breakfast at ibis is very basic but satisfying, just right. Will be back.

3 star hotel. Bar area is just 'ok'. Friendly staff and rooms clean enough. It's cheap and in a good location, if you want to fancy pay more!

Hotel near by the center of Brisbane. The room are big and correct. The food is fine but the plates have often not clean. Which is a bit surprising given that the rest is very good ratio between quality and price. For Linux user be aware that you may have problems with the portal capture. It did not work for me on an Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (even so the Wi-Fi was connected). IOS and Android were fine but the bandwidth is clearly too low for Skype meeting. To summarize good for leisure but probably better to avoid if you have to make serious work with an heavy internet connection. Rooming was not possible for me…

Nice, simple, handy, cheap hotel. Nothing flash but it's not supposed to be. For the price it is perfect and the staff have always been great.

Stayed 1 night not by choice. Very surprised I had to collect my drinks from bar and then go and get my dinner order when I just wanted to relax and rest a foot injury. No in room movies and I had to pay for Wi-Fi. Cleaning needs attention on wall near desk. Thanks Virgin Airlines. Not.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The beds where comfy and soft, the room could have been a lil bigger and the buffet breakfast was yummy.

We are here on Good Friday and I get no pubs are open but one standard drink with a main meal, please! Watch out for the receptionist with the blue hair, she does not know her job nor does she have any idea about customer service. She rolled her eyes at me twice, spoke over the top of me most of the time and then just became very patronising. Well Brisbane I had an awesome week but this young woman just put a real bad taste in my mouth and she should not be in the hospitality industry, whatever you are paying her Hotel Ibis Brisbane Airport is way too much as she is not worth it. Horrible person you should be ashamed of yourself treating paying guests that way. Shame on you.

Nice average room. Only thing is need more power points in the room. Fridge wasn't as cold. No water in the fridge. Not enough towels in the room. But other than that bed was comfortable to sleep on.

Great place. Nice clean rooms, comfortable beds. Great location and staff. Good value for money in terms of accomodation. But food needs improvement. Breakfast, which is paid separately, is the same food everyday. Hotel favourite burger is tasteless.

The rooms had a cigarette smell, very old, had no view anywhere and the rugs were in lousy condition.

Arriving at ibis was a bit hectic as there was only one person handlijng up to 20 customers. It took nearly half an hour just to check in. The rooms are decently organised but not very modern. Breakfast was also decent and tasty.

Affordable stay. Buffet breakfast is basic and gets very busy. Location is good and close to all City sights. Rooms are clean, best but a little dated.

I cannot describe how wonderful the service I received was. I was travelling on business and my work was to have made the booking for me. I arrived at 8:30 at night and none such booking had been made. I proceeded to panic but the woman at the desk was beyond courteous and helpful. She was able to give me a room immediately and said we could sort out the difficulties the next day. In addition to the wonderful service it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Simple Hotel in a central location.

Great understanding staff, great location. I arrived and my toilet was constantly running, I rang up to let the reception know and they moved me without a fuss. Makes staying here so much easier. I will definitely stay here again. Did I mention how cumfy the beds are!

This place gave me a great room in a hurry when I needed it the most. The manager was fantastic. Brilliant team. Great room.

Great location, good value for the price, facilities not outdated.

Clean hotel, comfy bed and pillows, bar and restaurant is permanently closed though, so they direct you to the hotel next door via back entrance which is a bit of a walk. This wasn't advertised on the website. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Classic Ibis Hotel. Nothing special. The room and bathroom were not very clean. Price/performance rather suboptimal, therefore 3 stars. However, the location is very good.

Clean and tidy. Welcoming efficient staff. Comfortable beds. Would have liked a biscuit with our cup of tea. Quite loud neighbours for a couple of hours but we were in bed early as very tired/jet lagged.

Clean room, housing keeping were lovely and provided an extra face washer on request. Asked for a take away hamburger, chips, onion ring and beer deal from the restaurant on level 1 which I was happy to wait for. Room for improvement from your restaurant is perhaps have take away bags/containers or provide your guest with a tray and cover; very hard to carry a plate, beer, purse and then try and use the key in the lift to get to my floor, nearly dropped my dinner. Friendly staff, I don't think the Ibis looks after the reception staff well, as they are crazy busy, answering calls, checking people in, checking people out, taking bags. There really should be more than one person. Otherwise enjoyed my stay.

Tidy and relatively clean (except for the suspicious white stain on the desk chair in my room), breakfast buffet is cheap if pre-booked, and very convenient location. Check in and out can be a bit slow in peak business hours but otherwise fine. Friendly staff and reasonable rates.

The stay was purpose built because we were attending workshop/training at nearby hotel and had our baby with mother-in-law with us. We had booked a 2 queen bed, business room. The room was very dark, cold, and stuffy. The carpets were dirty & stained red all over it, mold in bathrooms, and very outdated rooms. The breakfast was definitely the best part of our stay and set the day for us to attend long day of learning. Upon checkout had issue with parking — very confusing and the staff mixing it up and giving us wrong information on how to get out and then back in. Got stuck at gate and had to pay to get out. Staff had difficult time getting the parking right. Got it fixed up in the end but very difficult process. With this all said, we would not stay at this Ibis again.

Disgusted! Will never stay again! I'm currently staying at the ibis and am disgusted! No parking (2 blocks away) and was told I could park near their reception all night (by the check in attendant) due to current circumstances with my daughter! The attendant asked for my keys, filled out a card and said that it would be safe overnight! They would call me if they needed to move it momentarily! I get a phonecall from the next shift attendant telling me to remove my c…ar and that no one told me I could park there for the night! Implied I was lying and told me it was illegal! I was absolutely dumbfounded! It's pouring with rain, we were on our way out for my daughters bday celebrations! The attendant was completely rude (to which I told her to contact the attendant from my check in)! She was so condescending! I'm a psychologist, yet my tolerance at this time was very challenged!
Completely ruined my daughters bday weekend! We nearly lost her a few months ago — and there was no understanding by the second attendant whatsoever! I listening and just plain accusations of deceit!
We have stayed in many hotels across the world as well as locally as would never recommend the ibis again!
We were looking forward to the weekend at the ibis and my daughter had a panic attack as a result of the poor treatment! Plus! Booked and paid for 4 people — the room had 2 towels, 1 shampoo bottle, 2 mugs, 2 cups! In a room with two Queen beds!

The check in, the rooms etc were all fabulous & seamless. The check out also good, but there was an error overcharging an extra's days parking, at the car park exit, charging again. I have since emailed as requested the Ibis Turbot st & some 36hrs later, still no reply. That side of things does not make me happy. I'd like it sorted & the $36 error (somehow) refunded to my card please. Apart from that internal error — a brilliant stay in a great value for position property.

Bed was great. Disappointed that we were not made aware of fact there was no parking. It cost us more and we had to walk to get our car. We went out for breakfast Sunday and when we came back we could not get into reception area for a group booking, Indian culture, their bags were all over the floor leaving no walking space. They were all in front of lift when we were trying to get out also. Staff should have ensured walkways clear.

Great location close to the CBD and South Bank. Walking distance to most everything I needed to get to. Rooms could be upgraded. Shower over bath was so narrow and yet there was plenty of space int he bathroom for a wider bath. Sound proofing of room was negligible. Could clearly hear all conversations both next door and outside the room. Check in staff were very helpful.

The Ibis Brisbane has always been a friendly, comfortable home when your not able to be home. You are always greeted with a smile day or night and the staff are extremely helpful. Buffet breakfast was enjoyable. The only downer was the floor was very sticky around where the fruit juice was situated. Thank you Ibis staff for a great overnight stay.

I would like to thank you for the clean room we received on our one night stay in Brisbane city. I would like to note that whilst our stay was quire pleasant, the amenities in the room for 3 people were not adequate. I travelled twice down stairs to reception to collect more towels on the first occasion and more toiletries on the 2nd occasion as there were not enough supplies for 3 people staying the night. Not a huge drama, as there are bigger concerns occurring in the world. After a very long day, having the correct conveniences in our room would have been more pleasant rather than travelling down to reception twice late at night while trying to get two children bathed and into bed ready for an early start the following day. The ladies on reception were very apologetic which was appreciated. This literally was the only downside to our stay. As I mentioned, certainly not the end of the world by any means. Just hoping to provide some feedback which may be helpful for other customers. I would like to say that the breakfast price I paid onto of our room charge for 1adult + 2 children was incredible value. The choices available on the buffet breakfast were vast, consistently topped up and good quality.

2nd time staying at this hotel and so pleased that the service is as good if not better than my previous stay. We arrived early and wet, we were so happy that we were able to check in early, dry off and relax. The beds are really comfortable, the rooms clean and spacious, as is the bathroom. Location is perfect. Only complaint I have and its a small one is that there was not enough milk, tea, coffee in the room. Would definitely stay again and have recommended to family and friends.

Perfect reception with a French receptionist, correct room, breakfast well, only downside, parking having had a little quick explanation of another receptionist I paid twice 36 dollars.

Perfectly placed in the heart of Brisbane with vibrant and practical rooms. Was a good change from the stereotypical hotel look and gave it a really fresh and exciting feel. Decent breakfast as well.

Fresh and modern hotel, staff have a very high attention to detail and are very accomodating. Without saying a word, switched us to a disabled room when they saw one of us was on crutches. Great location. Only negative is having to park in the myer center but even then parking is cheaper than paid parking at other hotels.

We had a fabulous experience here — arrived before check in hoping to store our bags, only to be told that not only was our room ready, the front desk attendant had upgraded us from a city view corner to a river view corner. The room was gorgeous, with well thought out use of space and really lovely views.

Excellent reception staff, however the initial expectations of the hotel in our view have not been fully respected.

The hotel only opened in March and as such is in great condition. The corner room we got was a bit oddly shaped and outfitted but very comfortable. For a budget hotel brand the breakfast stood out, great quality! Treat of guests with Le Club status is pretty good! Received a two level upgrade, welcome snack and 2 x free drinks as Le Club Gold.

The room is fine. Wifi reception was poor, food was not great but it's cheap. No real surprises here. Bed was good!

Had dinner on the 1st April 2016 — the chef & waitress (Esmé) were awesome, really went above & beyond. The service was amazing, was the best steak I have ever eaten & they really made an effort to cater for all our needs. So happy!

Appalling Wi-Fi. Breakfast spread good if it wasn't for the terrible Nescafé machine. Beds and rooms comfortable otherwise.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Service was outstanding, including arranging for a late breakfast in the sister hotel next door. (Open an extra hour)

Quiet rooms. Our good nights sleep is their priority. Have stayed in ibis Adelaide and Brisbane. I am impressed with the quality of their rooms. Their staff are also nice. Hotels that listen to their customers. Thumbs up!

Got a deal through Wotif for $107 per room, twin beds. Nice location very close to Roma station, clean, friendly staff. Great choice for tourists or people who do not have a car or lots of luggage. The front temp car park is mini-scale and we had to drive onto street for other cars to pull in while still unpacking our luggage. Car parking located at a different street is a pain, though not too far from the motel, but not very convenient. 24 hour $36.00, not cheap for car parking. The other thing is that the room does not have any cooking facility not even a microwave. Our two rooms are joined by a door and we requested it to be unlocked. It was great fun walking back and forth two rooms. Very ideal for parties and a group of friends. One last thing is that we could see another building is under construction right in front of Ibis, could be a view block in the near future. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Ibis was good, bed was broken but.

So all of our friends that were going to the same wedding decided to stay in Brisbane Ibis. They are budget hotels and that's why we picked them because we had limited funds. Upon arrival, I paid my $328 for 2 nights then the manager decided that we have to pay $100 bond per night which is $200. I have never heard of that before, I know it's $50 bond wherever you go as I have stayed all over Australia! Then I said I won't have any money through the trip, I cannot afford an extra $200. They started getting angry and rude and wanted the money, saying it was the policy and rules. Overall experience was quite disappointing, we will never stay there again. Reception staff was rude and tatting when we checked out too and was reluctant to return our money. Next time I will rather stay somewhere else than getting anywhere close to this hotel.

I stayed here and the room was fine. However I left something behind and it seems to be impossible to talk to someone to organise recovery of the item. I tried for almost two hours to talk on the phone — from overseas — and I can't find an email address to use. All I can do is hope staff read this and contact me.

First things first the staff were great. Nay Amazing! In particular Tom from reception. By far the best receptionist I have ever seen anywhere! The room was clean and a good size. Also the price is reasonable and the hotel is very close to the airport which is nice. Furthermore, the service offered at the restaurant and food is lovely. Would recommend this place to everyone and I will be staying here again.

The rooms are just like the picture. Simple and neat, however they are a little small and pokey. I can understand why the tvs arent mounted on the wall either. The buffet breakfast as very nice. The thing that really anoyed us was the lack of car parking. Beware they do not have any car parking!. This was not stated at the time of booking and consequently we had to pay an additional $27 to park the car in Tank street and then walk back (400-500m) to the accomidation. They dont even have enough space the accomidate a passenger/ baggage set down area. The other sneeky charge they apply is a $50 deposit. They will debit your credit card $50 and then refund it within 4 working days. This seems like a scam to me since they already had my details through the booking. If your after a cheep clean room close to the city and dont have a car to park, maybe this is for you. Just beaware of the many hidden charges.

I'll start by saying that the staff were great. Outstanding actually. The room was very clean but also very small, think prison cell with a separate bathroom. It was very quiet considering it's located on the corner of two major roads. There is reasonably priced long term parking right across the street and it's very close to the airport which is nice. So that's the good. The bad is that you can stay in a much nicer place for around the same money, as I have done many times before in Brisbane. I also paid $15 for the slowest internet access I've ever used. Ever! It was ridiculous. In every other hotel I have stayed it the net has been free and 20 times faster than this. All that said, if it's just a night you're after and you don't plan on going anywhere, this would do fine.

We arrived to Brisbane about 10 am and decided to go straight to the hotel as we did not want to carry our heavy bags around the city. When we got to the hotel staff advised us that even though it was a bit early for the check in, they had the room available and if we wanted we could use it at no extra cost. We also requested late check out and that was no issue at all. During the check in we asked the staff to organize a taxi for us for the next day and it was ready to go at the time we wanted. The stay was very pleasant. The staff was very helpful. We did not have to ask twice for anything or wait in a long line if we needed anything. The location is awesome, right in the CBD and the breakfast has good variety of foods to satisfy any taste. RECOMMEND this hotel to everyone. As awesome choice for a very good pice.
