The Pod Sydney Hostel

Very nice place to stay with reasonable price in the center of Sydney CBD. Luckily, we had the last minute deal for only $89. Have a seperate elevator to get to level 6 but can only access from ground floor. Each room has its own swipe card. There are some useful recommendations and discount programs at the reception and reading area. You can cook your own food at the public kitchen.

Nice and convenient location within walking distance of two train stations. Staff are nice and friendly, beds are comfortable, and facilities are kept clean. The only odd thing is they close the toilets and showers from 10 pm for cleaning, which it seemed like was when a lot of people were getting back and wanted to shower.

U can got private area for your own, is quite silent all the time. They provide all the things u want and the price is worth except hot water for drinking (i havent seen). Room and toilet is very clean.

Excellent budget accommodation, for this price in a big city where you can pay hundreds of dollars a night or more for a room to sleep and spend two waking hours a day in, you're not going to get any better. It's 50% a backpackers, 50% contemporary hotel.

This place is everything I love in a hostel: very clean, very quiet, and excellent location. I think because the hostel is on the smaller side guests were generally more courteous and facilities like the laundry room, kitchen, and showers were more easily accessible than other places I've stayed. And it really was smack dab in the middle of everything! Really enjoyed my stay, would book again if back in Sydney.

By far the cleanest and most modern hostel I’ve stayed in. Extremely private and in a great location (entrance is quite hard to find at first). Well suited to a solo traveller or people looking for good rest mid travelling as it has a no drinking policy and it’s quite high up away from the noise of the city. Lots to see and do nearby, lots of travel links and there is a supermarket right across the road where you can buy ingredients for cooking if you’re looking to save money from eating out.
Staff at the time I went weren’t the greatest English speakers, so it was a bit stressful trying to explain over the phone I wouldn’t make it in time for latest check in, (resulting in me thinking I wouldn’t have anywhere to stay by myself at 1 in the morning) but they did their best to accommodate me and turned out to be helpful and friendly during my stay.

Very clean and well kept. Rooms are comfortable with decent privacy. Only negative was that showers ran out of hot water at one point.

Great facilities but no social atmosphere.

Best hostel in Sydney CBD Area. Near Museum Station, Haymarket and Town hall. Bed was clean and comfortable. There’s also big storage to keep your luggage (Bring your own lock) Definitely will stay here again ❤️

Most luxury, clean and lovely hostel I've ever been! :)

Despite low water pressure when used simultaneously, everything is perfect. Spotlessly clean as staffs frequently clean the common area as well as bathrooms. The location is second to none, especially if compared with other hostels in the area. Highly recommended!

Thankyou for the last minute booking! Your reception staff have been so accommodating and friendly (from ringing to ensure I was ok when arriving late, to letting me store my belongings after checkout time) and your facilities clean and homely. The staff is friendly, the facilities are pretty well kept, clean and new. I loved the privacy that you get in the capsule. Plus the place is in a great location, short distance to China Town, Darling Harbour, Museum Station, Town Hall Station and Central Station, you can find around pretty much everything, bars, pubs, gyms, nightclubs, cinema, shopping centres and delis, etc.

Great hostel, clean rooms and good privacy. Free Wi-Fi and wide living room area. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have many facilities like kitchen, laundry machines and a bus to airport.

One of the best hostel I have ever stayed, Unlike other, this hostel is so peaceful. Everything is new and clean, Staffs are friendly and helpful. Bunks are large and private. More importantly, the location is perfect, being close to everything, like restaurants, bars, parks, museums and transportation. Despite that, it is so quiet at night.

Super clean with great amenities. Centrally located. Free coffee and tea all day and good Wi-Fi. The only bad thing was how sterile the place seemed: signs everywhere saying no load noises or alcohol. It almost felt like talking to someone else would be frowned upon. Don't come here if you are looking for a social space.

Good location of being in between Thai town, China town, Sydney tower, etc. It is also traveling easily by train, musuem station. It is just a few stations to Harbour, Circle Quay station. Nice & helpful receptionist Khun Keng & Khun Te'. Will come back to Sydney and stay here again :)

Credit where credit is due! I'm staying here currently, I planned a weeks stay to see what it's like before I committed to staying longer, and I will definitely be extending. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facilities are excellent for the price, there's lots of nice extra touches (towel, free tea / coffee, a vending machine etc), and the pods themselves are excellent. They are quite large the size is probably somewhere in between a double and a single bed, the curtain means that if you want it to be pitch black inside your pod so you can sleep, even when the lights on outside you can get a great sleep. The showers are great, hot water and adjustable for height — good for me as I'm tall. And everything is just clean! Anyone that stays in hostels knows that is generally the most a person can ask for, and they definitely tick that box. You get a good size locker in your room too and I recommend bringing a lock and key with you for those as they are handy for locking away your more expensive items. I'm working down the street, a mon — Friday role so I really wanted somewhere that I'd get a good nights sleep but still have the opportunity to meet people if I wanted to and this is exactly that. It is in no way a party / loud hostel! It's perfect, I still meet and chat to people but really only when it suits me because if I want privacy and peace the pod provides that.

First stay — Mixed feelings about this review. It is ultra modern, new facilities and has a nice quiet feel to it. On the other hand a few small things impacted my stay. Firstly the bed and sheets had not been cleaned or changed. There was hairs on my bed. Lastly, it is an alcohol free hostel. As I was half way through a quiet beer and reading a book, I was told no alcohol. I finished my chapter in the lobby. Rather than ban alcohol, it would be better to enforce action against poor behaviour. Second stay — much better experience. The room was clean, top bunk which is normally bad, but the fixed steel frames makes it feel like it's own space. Very helpful/friendly concierge. Only reason not 5 stars is the activity restriction noted in the first stay.
