"Don't judge a book by it's cover" I was shocked when arrived at the entrance of the homestay because I was expecting a nice and presentable lobby of a hotel. Instead, it is a very old colonial building. You need to walk into a dark alley to reach a door which leads to a staircase. Once you reach the first floor, you will see the entrance of the homestay. There's nobody at the entrance to greet you. You have to call a number so that the staff will come from another hotel which, is just around the corner and check-in for you. Once you reach your room on the second floor, everything is fine from thereon. We booked for a double bedroom but we got a queen bed + single bed. Room is spacious and comfy. There is a water dispenser at the common area outside the room and shared bathroom just outside the common room. We were offered free breakfast at their hotel. Once we got accustomed to the surrounding the of the homestay, the dark alley and dingy staircase didn't bother us at all. It's part of the homestay experience. You find good restaurant and street food outside the homestay. We enjoyed our stay here very much and will come back again in our next trip to Hanoi.

This was an exceptional place. Friendly, lovely family welcoming us to their home with such generosity and kindness. The place was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. It is conveniently located, about 10 minutes to the beach and same distance to town… easily accessible by bicycle which are offered by the hosts. The breakfast options are varied and all delicious! We would come back any time and highly recommend it to others!

A very typical home at the heart of Hanoi old quarters that offers everything you need for a good stay. Excellent service with kind and helpful staff. The house is just next to Dong Xuan Market and O Quan Chuong Old Gate with many famous tradition food restaurant. Highly recommended for long trip!

I stayed here 2 nights, room very clean, large window and really quiet, you can feel life-style of local people when you stay in An Family Homestay. Staff also very helpfull and friendly, she gave for me full information in Vietnam. Highly recomment.
