A wonderful place to stay in the heart of old Hanoi. Staff are friendly and facilities are splendid. Good value for money.

Before we checked in and we wrote email to ask for help, at very soon we received their reply and confirmed they could help but to charge USD 10.00 personally, which we were fine with the arrangement. During checked out, we asked the front desk to send our postcards and we paid for the stamps, but so far it's been over one month we've come back. We do not receive postcards and wondered if the front desk sends them. We wrote several times to the same e-mail for a confirmation, but NO ONE replies!? How come? We wonder if our money paid for the stamps has been taken away personally and our postcards actually did not leave for the post office. If they were sent, why does no one would like to reply our e-mail?

I really don't want to give this place a negative review so I will write it as is. Pros: — staff do try to be helpful. — very centrally located and you can find a place to have dinner, breakfast, coffee, spa, massage, laundry right outside the hotel Cons: — we got a non smoking room that someone had just smoked in. I was hoping for the staff to notice this and remedy it before we checked in. — we booked a balcony room (cost extra $90) but the door would not open! — room had broken fixtures — shower, towel rail, lock on the bathroom door — room was not actually cleaned daily… it was moreso just tidied up. Floors were never cleaned and it became more noticeable over time — breakfast (complimentary) was not good. We stayed at Hotel Zephyr earlier in this trip (in front of Hoan Kiem Lake) and this review is in comparison to the service we received there. 9

Very good service and the personal is friendly. The room is very clean… we have stayed there for 3 nights and were very satisfied. From hotel we just needed 3 min to walk to the lake and 10min to the city central…

A really lovely hotel, everyone was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are gorgeous! The breakfast had a great variety, and everyone was super helpful. Easy to locate and close to everything. Thanks guys!

Perfect location near the lake. Good for shopping near by and good for restaurant near by. Hotel is great for sleeping. Would stay here again.

Nice place, good rooms, restaurant with a view, professional & friendly staff. Only improvement that can be done, quality of breakfast food. But overall good.

This place was decent. A little pricy compared to other hotels. Location is great and the breakfast buffet on the roof was good. Service was good. Bathroom looked fancy but it wasn’t that special when using it. Overpriced.

The Junior Suite was large and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate. Location in the Old Quarter excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful little Hotel in an alley. From here its only a few steps to Hoan Kiem Lake. The rooms are quite small, but comfortably furnished. The titled balcony, unfortunately no balcony, but rather a projection. The Breakfast buffet is good, the Service is quite inattentive.

Friendly and helpful, room was comfy great view from room across the old section of Hanoi. Great breakfast with lots to choose from. Location very central close to local shops and eateries.

The rooms were decent and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. However the massage was terrible and we weren't let out of the room until we paid the masseuse a tip!

My daughter treated her mother for a birthday holiday and stayed in Palmy Hanoi. On her return from shopping, she was pleasantly surprised by the staff when they presented a nice birthday cake at the hotel's room. Thanks to the staff for taking note of this detail. They made the day for my wife awesomely pleasant.

Terrific location one short block away from the famous lake, close to the rooftop bars and lakeside cafes. Quaint period style rooms gave that Somerset Maugham ambience. The genuinely friendly and welcoming staff always went out of their way to make their guests comfortable. The in house spa was good and inexpensive. Overall, very pleasant and great value.

Great location. Staff superb, especially reception who went overboard to help try & locate my suitcase, lost by Jetstar & who took 6 days to get it to me (never use that airline again as they had found it after 2 days). Breakfast adequate but disappointing bar closed at 21.30. Room clean & reasonable size but disappointing that there was no window so could be a bit claustrophobic if in there for any length of time. This was not mentioned. Would book room with window next time.

Clean and very nice. The rooms are not very big but there is enough built in storage to feel quite comfortable. There is a window between the bathroom and bed which is a bit odd. At least there is a shade to lower to get privacy. The breakfast is great. The eating are is on the top floor and has some nice views. Be sure to get an order of noodles.
