Staying here is my "sentence" as I spend 14 days in Quarantine. But being here is about as comfortable as a prince in the palace. The food is not just delicious but served promptly and prepared impeccably. Such room service is magnificent. Ns Ngoc Nguyen was assigned to help with my stay. During my time here I feel like I really don't (and can't) visit all that this hotel has to offer. But Ms. Ngoc has been excellent in making my stay a pleasure despite the restrictions that are necessary to make the Quarantine effective. Though the costs are much higher than my budget can afford, I get to feel like that prince in his chambers. For those who can afford this luxury, you will find not just the accommodations and location essential for knowing Old Ha Noi and the rich history that has kept it alive all these 1010 years since it was became the Capital of Viet Nam.

We were always here for brunch, drink, meeting… when we lived in Hanoi as we loved the hotel, service, food & staff. After a few years we came back and stayed here and we were totally disappointed. Absolutely an amazing hotel but service really goes down, breakfast is so poor, staff not very helpful. We were resting in bed after our walk and a staff suddenly opened our room without knocking the door neither a shout. We were so shock and she just simply said “do you have any laundry”

Absolutely stunning hotel. Everything is superb. Especially breakfast and swimming pool. This isn’t 5* hotel that’s colonial residence in a hard of Hanoi Old Quarter. In was Great 10 days in here.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. Very friendly, efficient staff, lovely grounds and beautiful, spacious rooms. Very comfortable beds and delicious macaroons. Fabulous buffet breakfast and excellent restaurants.

Excellent hotel. Good food at reasonable prices for this type of hotel. Really nice helpful staff. The rooms in the old wing have the 12 ft ceilings with 9ft windows that fully open and mahagony floors. The pool and pool bar are a great feature to relax around.

One of the best places to stay at in Hanoi, Metropole is oozing with old world charm. The decor and interiors will just bring you back to the days when luxury was an exclusive cut above the rest. The location is central and is near the main lake. There are also plenty of shops nearby as well as restaurants for both local and international cuisines. The opera house is just a few minutes away on foot.

Stayed there one night before going to Ha long bay for a 2 day cruise. I am in love with the place. Amazing staff. Great facilities. Super location. Wish I had stayed there for longer.

The hotel is a beautiful building and the tour of the bunker they recently found a highlight. The tour guide was delightful. The food and beverage service (I work in the industry) was lacking in hospitality and organization (buffets not set at 7 a. M. ) The chocolate tea was worth doing once (especially if you have a sweet tooth). The gym was well equipped and staffed with attentive help. Turn down service was sporadic. 1 night at 630 and the next at 845. The location is ideal and the doormen very helpful. My belief is that the new Four Seasons being built will potentially surpass this hotel in service.

Excellent location. Can’t get better in terms of location. Friendly and courteous staff. Food options could have been better. Nevertheless it is not too bad. Only big downside being price. It is a bit on the expensive side.

One of the best Hotels I stayed in, once in Hanoi a must to visit bang in the centre and 5 star all the way. The service is good 100% and good staff throughout. A tour of the underground shelter is a must with a great guide not to be missed Enjoy.

We had dinner in the Spices Garden restaurant & were very impressed with the entire experience. The decor of the Metropole was superb, the staff were so friendly, yet highly professional & the food was exceptional! We would highly recommend & will go again.

The best experience there is. Little attention to details really made a bid difference. Staff are superb. Historical relevance surely enhanced the experience elegantly. Why breakfast is not included? I feel like the hotel nickel and dime you in this department Hotel transportation to airport is $125 USD = 2.5 million Dong. Too pricey. We paid $25 from airport to the near by hotel when we came in. But for that price. You get a limo service. Fancy fancy fancy limo. Worth it.

One of the best and historical buildings in Hanoi. Very friendly staffs full of smiles. Take a short time to see the lobby at both sides, and have a moment to carefully see the old photos. Read the famous persons who have stayed in the Legendary Hotel. The room was comfort, clean, and the hotel provides free bottled water more than two.

Awesome hotel with excellent service and great food! We arrived really early on the train and needed to get some breakfast — the staff were super accommodating and held all our luggage while we had the breakfast buffet, which was excellent. Great coffee, and a lovely outdoor eating area surrounded by greenery and enclosed by the gorgeous architecture of this charming colonial building.

I was mis-clicked the other day. Outstanding place with world-class services and stunning rooms with variety of room types. One of the most luxurious place ever to stay. What a legend!

Very plush and posh hotel. Food here is delicious and has high standards. No need for reservations if it's not busy. Free Wi-Fi available too. Location is great for wandering around the old quarter of Hanoi. A must stay or visit for tourists. Near by is the lake and park and be sure to see these at night when locals and lights turn it all so lively. Such a charming city!

A fine hotel, very well preserved, great services. Ask for a room in the historical wing as they have far more charm and character compared to the new wing. This is the hotel with my most favourite pillow.

Although the prices are high, the value is even higher… we loved our evening at this Hanoi treasure.

Fabulous hotel, the rooms are beautiful, quiet, well equipped, the service is perfect. Some rooms offer access to a lounge serving an afternoon tea with a sweet buffet and a chic aperitif cocktail with cocktails and a savoury buffet in the early evening.

Legendary hotel in the heart of Hanoi. Luxury, calm and voluptuousness. We find ourselves immersed in the history of France and its years of presence in Tonkin. From the very high level with such a pleasant welcome from the Vietnamese. We'll be back at the end of December to sleep 3 nights.

Super hotel. Great rooms. Very romantic. We stayed in the old wing with view over a little park and fountain. Rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. The bathroom is large and very clean. Breakfast is perfect. Lots of choice. The staff is very caring and well trained. Long in Beaulieu was a star, Thanh at the pool, thank you for the nice chat. The staff is all and all smiles. Staying here was truly an experience! Loved it and highly recommended.

Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so special. We were lucky enough to have a suite in the charming historical wing of the hotel. The property is in a great location, has superb restaurants and a fantastic poolside bar. We had a truly memorable visit.

Room was nice and clean; bed had a great duvet and pillows. TV was old. I was in the old part of the hotel overlooking the park. Had a nice balcony. The breakfast clocked in at $37.00 and some change and was not impressive; cold cuts, some warm items, juice variety, etc. Not what you'd expect for that price. The guy cooking eggs (yes I am american) was using just one pan at a time despite there being two. It literally took 14 minutes to get them. No bellboy was working when my group arrived, albeit early at 5:30 AM, so we had to lug all of our stuff in. First world problems, but hey, you are paying international prices not Vietnam prices and expect the best.

Refreshing take on luxury hotels. Would highly recommend the historical wing that have beautiful rooms. Restaurants are superb but breakfast is quite underwhelming. Staff was super helpful and went out of their way. I bought a SIM from the concierge desk and wasn't able to send texts — which turned out to be because of lack of balance. It was midnight by now and there were no shops or options available. The lady at the desk — Kelly personally topped up my phone balance using her bank account and I paid her the same amt in cash. Super thoughtful of her to go out of her way to help.

Great hotel with attentive and caring staff. The rooms are nice and have a personality. There is a small but adequate gym. The food is nice.

4 stars only because it is not my style of hotel — I prefer the modern amenities and steel and glass construction as opposed to the wood and history this place has — nevertheless it is definitely an amazing hotel and would recommend staying here as the location cannot be beat. The rooms are a little on the smaller side for about 200USD a night and one side of the hotel has been remodeled so it is newer. Service is impeccable here and definitely the best I've experienced here in VN. And again location is so convenient to hit up all the touristy spots. Also their breakfast buffet is on the expensive side but man that western breakfast is good.

Overall a great experience, but don't expect to chill by the pool on the weekends. When we were there about 15 screaming kids were in the pool. The Club was very nice and service excellent!

An experience worth 5 stars. Situated on one of the main streets of the Old Quarter in Hanoi just a mere 5 mins walk to Hoan Kiem Lake, the hotel stands as a witness to Hanoi's development. It has been there since the 1900s went though two historical wars and is still beautifully maintained. The suites is well equipped even in the "budget" options. Noteworthy hotel amenities contains an excellent outdoor pool and a shopping arcade where high end luxury goods are on offer plus the "sidewalk" cafe. As to be expected the services on offer here is top notch which relegates the Metropole to the higher price bracket but it's well worth the money.

A truly five star hotel. Service exceeds one's expectations. Great restaurants, excellent poolside service, lovely live music, beautiful room with all the amenities a traveler needs. Don't spend a night here. It's just not enough. The only downside is the room is so spacious that the TV set becomes too small.

I went to the Metropole four times. A pantagruelique breakfast! An excellent dinner. The pool bar is perfect for afternoons or summer evenings.
The staff is very professional, but would win to be a little more rider, however it is a very common attitude in this kind of high-end place, so it is not really a problem in itself.

I came to the Bamboo Bar just for a drink and was wowed by the level of service. Two rounds of complimentary snacks. Smiles. And a beautiful poolside setting. Well done.

Gorgeous and historic hotel. It's very high end, especially for Vietnam. The staff is incredibly attentive, our room was graciously appointed and the grounds were beautiful. I recommend taking the hotel history tour and having a drink in the bamboo bar. This hotel is expensive by Vietnam standards, but if you're looking for high end accommodations and service, this is the place. My one criticism was that we smelled people smoking from our non smoking room.

Hotel well known to Hanoi residents. Old part and new (opera part). Wish I had stayed in old part. Well located near where french quarter (this big stone buildings) meets old town (traditional Vietnam). Easy to walk around area apart from motorbikes parked on pavements. Hotel luxurious. Business centre has internet pcs and will print 10 pages free. Hotel internet not impressive, when Starbucks opposite runs at 30mb (20 times faster than I got in hotel) Interesting 1 hr tour of hotel bomb shelter and it's history at 17:00 and 18:00, especially the man hole cover hide holes outside hotel. Sofitel have overbuilt single storey eating areas in the central courtyard leaving pool, pool surround and gym too small for 300 room hotel.

Reason alone to come to Hanoi. From room, to food, to ambiance, and location. Perfect. The only short comings I would say are some drinks at the bars are suspect. Got a Cuba Libre and it was heavy on the lime juice, over blended, and tasted more like lime soda, then rum and coke. That one thing aside, everything else is flawless and worth the price of admission. You don't have the huge resorted, cookie cutter feel of the bigger 5 stars here like JW Marriot or InterContinental. This place place has history and style, 2 distict styles, one facing a colonial indochina (heritage), one facing a chic continental vibe (Opera).

Superb staff. Lovely spacious room with excellent amenities. The only missing thing is the bidet but this becomes minor considering everything is else.

Certainly one of the best hotels in Vietnam! It houses a ton of history and it's certainly very luxurious. If you can afford it, it's well worth it. Prices start at about $180 per person, so cheap it ain't, but as I said above, it's worth every penny.

I stayed at the metropole legend for a few days, and I enjoyed the exelence service and his magnificent suite, a perfect agreement between the modern wing and the colonial wing. The different restaurant within the hotel are provided purpose and powerful products.
