We choose this hotel based on excellent reviews online. However, we were very disappointed with the service.
We were assigned a room different from what we had booked and told that they may or maynot change.
The room size was ok with all the amneties, but very run down. The matresses were hard, no drinking water in the room.
The coffee during breakfast was excellent, however, we were served bread that was hardened.
The only positive was the well decorated and kept entrance and garden.
If you’re ever in this part of the world, I would highly recommend staying at the Green House Eco Hotel in Samarkand. Tucked away in a quieter part of the city, this hotel is an oasis and a great place to detox from life’s daily grind. The owner, Gayrat, and his wife have crafted a space that reflects the charm and cultural essence of Samarkand.
It’s located in a Mahallas, a residential district. The facade of the hotel may seem nondescript; however, upon stepping through the metal door, you will be transported into a hidden sanctuary adorned with fruit trees. There is a gazebo that seats larger groups and a quaint little breakfast corner that evokes the serene pace of life here.
I came with a family of 5, and the owner put us up on the upper floor with 3 rooms connected by a corridor. The kids' room had 3 beds, and we were given a separate room with a king-size bed. As mentioned by other reviewers, the rooms are cozy but tastefully done. The rooms have reading lights which is a rare convenience in hotels here. The thickness of the blankets provided were also appropriate for the cooler evenings. All rooms have attached bathrooms. Our room had a window overlooking the lovely garden.
The pool is small but great for a dip, especially during the Samarkand summers. Breakfast was good, with fresh salads, local breads, omelettes, and sausages. Dinner can be provided with advance notice.

We really enjoyed our stay here. They were very welcoming and flexible with our schedule. The garden is beautiful, it feels like a little oasis. Breakfast was delicious and diverse. It is a bit apart from downtown but is very easy to move around.
Totally recommended.
