Reviews of Amir Hostel
An amazing stay! The owner, Amir, and his family stay right next to the hostel and they're very active in interacting with their guests, recommending places to go, discussing different cultures, and sharing food with them.
Each bed has a curtain, a charging outlet, and a reading lamp. The AC works perfectly at night. All two bathrooms are on the second floor alongside a toilet sandwiched in between them. Silverwares, plates, pots, and pans. The gas stove oversaw my chicken macaroni and my friend's Japanese curry.
Right next to the kitchen is pattio with two big tables and sufficient space to park your bikes and bicycles.
The location is great! Close to the Central Park, and a local grocery store is a few blocks down. (Turn right at your exit and once again turn right and walk down a few blocks you'll see a mini market where you can get vege, fruits, dairy products, and snacks; major credict cards are accepted. NO PAYWAVE)
9/10! It'll be great to have a microwave.
The location is great. It's not really close to the historic center or most attractions, but it's located in the more affluent part of the city where you'll find lots of expensive shops, bars, and restaurants. Not to worry, there are cheap places to eat nearby too. The dorm bed was comfy with its own power socket and privacy curtains. There are three toilets outside the dorm room so I never had to wait long. There's a yard which is a good place to chill. The family that runs the place was also very friendly. Unlike most hostels in Uzbekistan there's no free breakfast, but that's not a deal breaker considering the very cheap price for a dorm bed. If you want to have breakfast at the hostel, you can for an additional 30, 000 SOM. One complaint: the Wi-Fi was kinda spotty.

Unfortunately the place was quite a dissapointment. Especcially after all the good reviews. The place seemed like it was not really taken care of currently. Toilets and showers were not getting cleaned. Staff seemed very uninterested overall. Curtains on the beds are nice, there is an AC, but overall the room stays quite warm. I was just expecting a lot more of the place.
