Guest house "Golden Gate" Hostel

This place is bad, no lift, you have to climb 5 floors to reach there, the staff is very rude. They behave very badly with the customers. When you're on the counter, the girl is always busy phoning someone and after 15 minutes of wait she listens to you, which is a rude behavior. They also hide things from kitchen, if you make tea more than one time a day, you will find it gone the next day. Wi-Fi is also weak. They also lock you out of your room if you delay payment even by 1 minute. They think customer is nothing, one will go another will come. All the staff in this hostel should be replaced by friendly and cooperative staff.

Great hostel. Stayed 2 weeks. Everything was fine.

Cool Hostel. There are vending machines selling drinks, snacks and beer. Clean and technologically.

Location! Center of Kiev. In 500 meters Khreshchatyk and all-all picturesque streets. From the entrance door to the hostel to the subway probably steps 6. Very comfortable. Too comfortable! ) ) ) )

I have been staying in this hostel a few times and everything is always very good. Great area, Metro entrance right in the hostel building, clean, good kitchen and living room.

Very good clean hostel. Bathrooms are also clean and always available! The kitchen is also nice for those who wants to cook. The Wi-Fi needs to be improved, there are 4 Wi-Fi of the hostel but the connectivity inside the room is poor.

The best hostel I've ever stay. Clean, all facilities maintained well, staff friendly. The only one "but". It is a 4th floor and there is no lift.

Really good hostel, incredibly central with beautiful views of the park, very clean. Only disadvantage is it's on the fourth floor with no elevator, but you won't find many that aren't in Kyiv.

I stayed here and really enjoyed it. The staff might not always be able to communicate in English, but they do their best to meet visitors needs. Everything is clean, 4 Wi-Fi spots, everything you need for a comfortable stay in Kiev. In the review below there's a huge complain about one of the girls who was an administrator. She isn't working there anymore, so forget all your fears.

One of the worst experience regarding the service in hostel! We stayed this summer, August 2016, with a group, and we will never repeat the same mistake. I have to tell that a lot depends on the staff. So, during our stay the receptionist badly treated our international guests. Here are some examples: — They were downstairs at night, trying to get in, calling the doorbell and she did not let them in. It happened during several nights, and it is not acceptable to let people outside, especially when the service is 24/7! — Our Slovenian guest wanted to wash his cloth, however, he did not pay attention that there is a 'queue' to do the washing. So, he just put all his cloth in the washing machine. When she saw it, without any notice, she stopped the washing machine at the middle of the process, took all his wet cloth and put in the corner. He was shocked with such an attitude. — One more thing: she was shouting at our guests! Shouting! I wonder how can the manager hire such people, who has neurotic problems. The hostel itself is nice, good beds, showers, kitchen, common room and central location. But only one receptionist made our experience a nightmare! Never again! P. S. Expect super long stair trip up as there is NO elevator!
