Great views and service although rooms a little outdated. Rooms had air conditioning, a flat screen TV, mini fridge and ensuite bathroom with a bath/shower. Breakfast buffet was delicious everyday served from 7-10:30 am. There was a bar with music every night and the foyer bar is open 24/7 for drinks, coffee. And snacks. It was great to grab a drink and watch the sunset — they even offer to bring it out for you :-) Also on the town square and main road so perfect location to get anywhere! Free walking tours available from the fountain in the square each day at 3:15 pm!

Absolutely best location in Kiev. Excellent service. Bathroom might need an update, but for the price excellent hotel. Breakfast very good. Choose a room with a view to the center. Worth the extra money.

The hotel right in the heart of the city with a nice view if you get the room facing Maidan. But prices are way too high. And economy rooms are better not to get… The breakfast is great! Very good location at this hotel (in the heart of the city) and amazing views from the window.
Service and service here at a very high level, standards here are confidently approaching the European.
Friendly and polite staff, very responsive staff.
Clean here well and often, the rooms have everything you need.
Very close to the Globe which has different shops and through the escalator which you can go down to Stella.
I recommend and will definitely be a guest of this hotel in the future!

Better then I expected! I went in knowing that it would not be in the same category as most western style hotels but was very pleasantly surprised! The price is unbeatable for what the hotel has to offer and surpasses many hotels that cost twice the price back in the states. There’s a lot to see and do in the surrounding area with many places to eat and shop. I actually stayed 2 separate times during the same trip and both times were good. Wi-Fi was good in both rooms I stayed in. I’d recommend you give it a shot.

Great hotel that takes you to the Maidan square. Bathrooms to renovate and everything a bit dated anyway clean. But the strong point is the location that allows you to visit on foot Kiev or take the subway. Breakfast is a buffet and offers plenty of choice.

Ideally located right in the center of the city and offering a magnificent view of the independence square from the rooms. The staff are very helpful, the rooms spacious and clean despite a style coming straight from the Soviet era. Metro and all amenities at 5min.

Hotel Ukraine is a Soviet-era hotel that is partially converted to modern standards. The price and location are excellent, though the rooms are not the most comfortable. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is tasty, and the location is fantastic. It is a short walk to Maidan square, and overlooks it without being in top of it. The short distance removes most of the noise. It have stayed there several times, and I will stay there again. The value is great! Just don't go there expecting a Hilton comfortable bed.

Hotel with special charm and a touch of Soviet architecture. The service has so far been one of the few that has been so superbly good: Friendly, competent, fast. Although rooms are very clean and are cleaned up very quickly, the reception usually takes care of you in a few minutes and fixes possible problems, in the restaurant the table is recovered in zero command at breakfast after each guest, the staff creates one Released impression. We got a good room on the 10th floor, with the window to Independence Square. Very nice view, especially when "singing" fountains are switched on in the evening. There was a fridge, a relatively old TV and a good bed. For €30am per night (breakfast included) for 2 people, value for money is incredibly good. However, if you expect the last design cry and expect something wonderful and luxurious when booking, you will be very disappointed. Because this hotel has a full 5 stars deserved for cleanliness, competence of cooperation, simplicity, price and of course also for a very good central location. From here you can quickly reach some of the city's hotspots on foot or by metro.

Very good prices — maintained quality to offer. In the center of the city, with a very interesting area, ideal as a starting point. I am not bothered by the atmosphere of past years, it was okay. I hope I will come back there again :)

Nice Hotel in the center of Kiev, overlooking the Maidan. In a standard room Wi-Fi, mini bar, hair dryer, towels, soap, shampoo. Iron on the floor, ironing room. Slippers, bathrobe, toothpaste in the room. Breakfast Buffet. Overall A Pleasant hotel experience.

The location of the hotel is the best. Large room, no minibar but complimentary water. Breakfast, good. No big luxuries. Friendly staff with no fanaticism.

Because of the location, in the city centre, this hotel is a great choise. Also the price is very reasonable. The hotel is next to the freedom square, the viewing point. Tip: book a room on the upper floors to get a great view over the city.

Great view from odd rooms:) Good location, breakfast OK, lobby oldie, lifts tin, staff polite, but for early check-in wanted to take us as one more night (on the site from 6 am 50%)

Hotel with Soviet Flair. Room and sanitary cubicle clean and spacious. Every day fresh towels if desired. Good Breakfast. Excellent location in the centre of the city, Metro in 3 Minutes. Nice English speaking reception staff.

Staff is often quite rude (court) and the complimentary amenities are spartan. Much of the interior could use renovation and refurbishment. The walls are thin enough to hear, shall we say, the "commercial international exploits" from the neighboring room. On the upside, the breakfast buffet is excellent, the Wi-Fi connect is decent, and the historic decor charming.

The hotel looks solemn and pompous.
The room was clean and comfortable. But the spirit of antiquity is not eroding.
Elevators, though they and four in one hall, to wait long.
In general, the hotel is OK, but something thought that people on wheelchairs (or with wheelchairs) to climb this height is difficult…

The service is very good, but the hotel is very dated, it needs a refurbishment.
The restaurant very poor, half a menu without provisions and a lot of lack of professionalism, I do not recommend going to dinner here.

I stayed here on the recommendation of a friend. I made the mistake of booking a classic room. It was warm and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was from the 80s and the TV was an old CRT. The Wi-Fi was rock solid and really fast. Next time I’ll spend some more money for a better room.

Good hotel. The location is fantastic as it overlooks the Maiden Square. The rooms may feel a bit dated however, they are clean and the beds are comfortable. Beware that the "lobby bar" is actually a strip club.

The hotel location is very good, close to the independent square. However, there are many cheaters around. The building is very old style with old and bad left. The rooms are also old style with old furniture. The breakfast is not a good one. So, if you need fair hotel with fair price close to the heart of Kiev, then this hotel will do the job. Other than that, find another good quality hotel.

Great location and fair price. Great view of the downtown area. Room gets a little warm and I had to wait a while for the water to get hot enough to take a shower. Overall, I am very happy with my 9 days here.

Disgusting place. No towels in the room, no bathrobes, no hairdryer. Most of all killed that there is no kettle in the room, well it is clear, because on the ground floor there is a tea for 60 UAH per teapot! And the staff offer that it is possible to take boiling water, it is sorry. On the 13th floor with boiling water to go is not an option at all. I am already silent about the buffet, the cattle attitude of the staff! In life, don't visit this barn.

Old Venerable hotel to a good Preisleistungsverhaeltnis. Breakfast was good with an excellent view of the Maidan. Economy Room booked and accordingly also the bottom category in the shower and at the facilities, the shower gel was just for the head and shoulders. Four stars, this is a clear exaggeration, most likely because of the character of the building and the hotel in the history of the country.
Change of management and drive of competent management can probably correct the situation.
In the meantime, the hotel is an inheritance of colonial regime.

You have to be honest. It's simply a good hotel for a very good price. Yes perhaps it isn't the most modern (decoration is clearly outdated) but who cares? Rooms are clean and absolutely good. Only the "Nightclub / Music bar" on the ground floor … really? I've nothing against nightclubs but this is a big disappointment. But another positive point: The view is beautiful over the Maidan (see my photo below). Would I come back? Yes, most definitely!

The location and the room view over the Maidan are great. There is nothing wrong with the service and the rooms, I would book again at any time.

It is a very good place for the tourists! Priceless place at least! I've been living in Kyiv all my life and was dreaming to see the city from this hotel windows and it worth it! It is not luxury, no modern TV. It feels Soviet union here. The best mushroom soup in my life I ate here! Pretty good services, good room and stuff. I'm very satisfied! Recommend this place!

Recommended. Clean, generous and friendly. However, changing the bed linen was done only by giving an additional tip. Very central and easily accessible.

I loved this hotel, so why only 3 stars. First point deduction was waking me up at 4am for a 5pm taxi to the airport, they need to use the 24 hour clock. Second point deduction was telling me that it would cost 485 to get taxi to airport and it actually cost 850, even though it was one of the hotels taxis.

The hotel is placed in a great location. This is undoubtfully the best attribute it has. However, the looks are quite decadent, the state of the carpet, full of stains. They provide you with slippers, but despite of having rented a room for two, there were only a pair of slippers. We had to call room service for the first time to ask for one pair more, and more towels. This would be OK, unless the second night something similar happened. We arrived in the afternoon and the room missed towels and, of course, slippers. We had to call room service three times and wait more than half an hour until someone arrived at the room. The hotel must improve seriously these things.

Old-styled hotel, better than expected + central position + excellent cleanliness + nice view — staff: they look totally uninterested in customers. — strip club at the floor to be absolutely avoided, rude staff and annoying girls. — noise from the main road.

DISCLOSURE — 9 — Large and comfortable bed, quiet room.
FACILITIES — 9 — Old 5-star hotel, probably with a facelift would look again. It seems somewhat anchored in the past, but it has its charm. The views are spectacular.

It might look old and worn but this is a good hotel with comfortable rooms and very friendly service. The restaurant is kinda boring, dinner options are good, breakfast is boring. I suggest trying the dinner, service (have them bring it to your room, the restaurant is empty…) just not every night. I was very impressed with the dry cleaning service, it's not expensive and my shirts where returned to my room within a few hours.

Absolute top location on Maidan! Room and breakfast good but more * * * than * * * *.

Its nice place and every thing is near to here. And its the main place for tourist. But hotel is same as 3 star. Not bad.

Huge Soviet-era hotel, the rooms are large and the furniture luxurious, although everything has that decadent air. The breakfast ten, all very good. Although there are a lot of people and few tables. It's hard to get a table at him for breakfast and even and even you feel people him the table himself because there are no free ones. At certain hours it's impossible to lift it.

Good breakfast in the middle of the main square surrounding subways quietly at night and on the main artery of the city. Nevertheless, cost-effective. This is where price and performance are right.

Need repair and overall good hotel, worth the money.

Spacious hotel in the heart of the capital. Interior and style of communication personnel has not changed for decades, all in the spirit of the Soviet Union. Offers an excellent view of the central area of the country.

Upper suite rooms affordable, clean great view, great room with plasma and wide sofa, nice bedroom and a comfortable bathroom, winter is not cold and not blowing.
From inconvenience-symbolic food, staff works under the mood, the quality of other numbers leaves much to be desired for a great amount of money.

Stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago with my then-boyfriend (now husband). Very old Interior, for that kind of money you can withdraw something more decent. But the most important thing is the staff. The administrator was very tough and even the same dealt with me with a condemning tone (Mole I a foreigner). Very very bad impression and negative experience. Staff need to rehabilitate and monitor behavior or you'll scare away too all the clientele!

It is possible to live. Breakfast need coming early. There are also problems with water. If they overlook Maidan the view from the window.
