I stayed in the hotel for two days, and I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the excellent accommodation and overall experience.
The staff behavior was very courteous and professional. I would especially like to thank Mr. Mithilesh Kumar, Manager, for his kind support and warm hospitality during my stay.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Swaroop Negi, Chef, for preparing delicious and high-quality Indian food, which made the stay even more pleasant.
Overall, my experience at your hotel was very satisfying, and I look forward to staying again in the future.

It was a great stay with Speke Hotel. Food was very delicious made by chef swaroop; this is my 4-5th stay at speke hotel, and I will prefer to stay in future as well.

Wonderful Experience in Speke Hotel. Rooms are clean. Staffs are realy polite and helpful. Really like the Indian restaurant. The food taste was really amazing felt like eating in India. Really thank you Chef Swaroop Negi. Always asked how we wanted the food and always cared about his customer taste and delivered exactly what we wanted. Overall great experience in Speke Hotel and will recommend to others too if they are visiting to Kampala. Cheers.

I have stayed at the Speke Hotel a number of times. A very beautiful and affordable place in the middle of the city. I don't understand the low reviews here.

Too expensive for what it is. My stars are for the restaurant, that has very nice food. The rooms are large but have a strong smell (insect repelent? ), have no mosquito nets or shower gel. The Wi-Fi works fine though.
The rest… well, imagine paying $100 per night not to be able to sleep at night because someone decides it’s normal to have loud music at midnight on a Thursday.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Speke Hotel Kampala. The moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly and made to feel at home. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, attentive, and professional throughout my stay.
The hotel has a unique charm with its historic colonial character, yet it also offers all the modern comforts one would expect. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay.
The location is perfect — right in the heart of Kampala, making it very convenient for both business and leisure. The variety of restaurants and bars within the hotel was impressive, and the food was excellent.
What stood out most for me was the hospitality. Everyone I interacted with made the experience memorable, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail.
I would highly recommend Speke Hotel to anyone visiting Kampala. It’s the perfect blend of history, comfort, and outstanding service. I look forward to staying here again!

All was great. The only minus is the facility/house keeping service provided in the room. Rooms aren’t soundproof.

Clean rooms though the standard bed though the standard room is small but comfortable. No backache after sleeping.

My shower was sorted immediately when I requested.
The showers have water which comes with alot speed so you feel so nice to shower.

Very well welcomed, the staff is always ready to help you, the rooms are big, comfortable and very clean. I just love it here. Any one planing to visit Uganda/Kampala, this is an ideal place to be, located in the middle of the city, yet quiet for relaxing. We had great time here.

Had to travel to Kampala for business and colleagues made the reservation for me. Check-in takes place in 30 sec. Stayed a night first and then came back for two more days. Had a small problem with the bathroom (which can happen even in 200+$ 5star hotels) and they changed the room with an upgrade free of charge. Needed a small item in the middle of the night and the reception sent it to the room in 2 minutes. So this hotel is a great value for what you pay. Also it is located right in the middle of the city center, you can reach anywhere very easily.

This hotel is not bad for its good location and its great food and its nice personal and its price. Nevertheless the room although very clean — smells a lot after some gas for maybe insects — although we are grateful to not see any — and that they asked in advance for permission to defumigate in the morning those walls are deeped in this liquid and some good reviews you find is because people misunderstood it to be the speke resort on victoria lake. So taking all this into account for a night or two is not a bad choice because is also not expensive. For budget travellers is good. Staff excellent and the manager found us and talked to us about a problem.
With the water. The lunch/dinner is way better than the breakfast with exception the omelette they can make you on the spot which is great. There is also sometimes live music. If it weren’t for the smell and the vibes of the old decoration / humidity it would be more stars.

We had an awesome time at Speke Hotel, Kampala. Centrally situated, and easy to get to anywhere. Very clean rooms, and surroundings. Staff are very friendly, and the food too was very delicious. Nighttime atmosphere in the bar area was looking great. Can’t put a fault about anything. 👍

Excellent service friendly staff food is amazing great location very welcoming helpful staff. Kitchen staff are very accomodating. Except on one occasion request some exotic fruit as we were fasting but was not accomoded. Evening meal was good thank you.

I haven't been at speke yet, but looking at the photos of the hotel and from what I hear from friends, the place looks magical and elegant. It's one of the places I think of visiting some day.

The staff at the hotel are incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout, the rooms are very nice and comfortable. The breakfast each morning is delicious and the location close to major attractions is great!

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. Impeccable service, stylish rooms, and a fantastic location made it unforgettable. The staff were incredibly attentive, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!
