I enjoyed my stay and will use this hotel again. My one reservation is that check-in arrangements for late arrivals could be better managed. That said the hotel is clean, quiet and very well located for access to CBD and Sydney's cultural and night life. There are plenty of good places to eat near-by and a supermarket.

The hotel is close to the city centre is very convenient, you can reach the opera House on foot as well as other attractions. The hotel is simple but recommended. The noise level is increased as SE has many Café S and Bar s in the surrounding area.

The location of the hotel is sensational, close to the port, the Royal Botanical Gardens, Opera building and the city center. Great, helpful hosts of the facility. I'm impressed with my first visit of Sydney. Cleanliness and amenities first class!

As a service and customer service provider at BMW, I can assure you that today I have been given an example of how to deal with every rule of decency and helpfulness with customers.
Something so unworthy and unbearable what happened to me today I wish no other guest. I incorrectly booked with my friend's name and paid with my credit card. In time I reported this to the hotel — it's all oke, you just have to rewrite it. When I checked in today, I was denied the entrance. It's the wrong name I need to see for myself how to fix it. Alone in Sydney with no idea of law and society in this country, they put me on the street. These employees were not paid yet. I didn't even speak to the manager. It is understandable that an employee does not have the competence to do so, but if you ask 6 or 7 times for the manager, then that is simply incompetent. I was not offered a phone and did not respond to my suggestions for solutions. It was constantly talking about the problem but not about a solution! When I felt cheated and had enough after an hour, I turned to the police. This also did not find the situation comprehensible and tried to mediate in my favor. You have confirmed and accepted me as a person. There was no risk for business. Even a confirmation mail or a Facetimeanruf from my friend they did not want. The reception remained hard.

After a couple weeks of backpacking my friend and I thought we would treat ourselves to a hotel. After finding one at a decent price online I booked it and they we went to check in at the check in we made it obvious both of us were staying in the same room but nothing was said about only one person allowed per room. When we got to the room it only had a twin bed we decided not to make a big deal about it and one person could sleep on the floor. We set up a second bed of sleeping bags on the floor. The next day when we got back the cleaners had tidied the room including folding up the bed we made on the floor meaning they knew or at least suspected there was a second person sleeping there. But nothing was said to us about it. Upon checking out we were told we had violated their policy of having more than one person stay in a room and when we tried to explain what happed the owner said no stop trying to argue you messed up and not us and then forced us to pay for another room.

After backpacking for 22 days around Australia a mate of mine used the kyak app and Google extensions to book a hotel room here. Using the app we typed in 1 room for 2 nights with 2 people. The app and extension showed us a room at the Maisonette Hotel. Not only did the pictures mislead us into believing we had a private restroom, (turns out it was shared between multiple rooms) they had put us in single room with only one bed. Happy to just have a bed again we decided not to complain and just make it work by having one sleep on the floor. After our 2 nights and 3 days of being there we checked out and they decided that we had to pay more for having 2 people in a one person room. The initial woman at the service desk had no issue letting us in to stay but it was still our fault. The manager after scolding us for disagreeing with the up charge added an extra 80 dollars to the already expensive payment for such a low quality stay.

This was my best travel experience. Because the city is fantastic. The hotel is simple however it is very well located and with good value for money.

Rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. Was very relaxed during my short stay an was won over by the charming neighborhood and building.

Great boutique hotel in Potts Point. Near cafes and restaurants as well as walking distance to the Opera House and circular quay. Hosts were super hospitable and helpful. Rooms are small but very nice. Would gladly stay here again.

Very good hotel, next to bars and restaurants. And its only a 20 min walk to the botanical gardens. The room is well equiped, bathroom is a bit small but the facilities are very good. Staff is kind and helpful. Would stay here again.

The front desk staff was very nice. If you check in after hours be prepared for an early wake up the next day! There is no lift so be prepared. 3rd floor with 2x 20 kg bags is not ideal. Nice clean small room.

I love this cozy and classic hotel. Unfortunately there was no elevator and the water closet in the bathroom was broken.

Cute hotel with great beds. Our double room was small, but very comfortable. Great for a couple of nights, but if you're in town for a long while, you'll probably want something bigger.

Terrible experience, rude management, locked out of my rooms for 7 hours because the is no after hours reception and the 'emergency' number is unmonitored. When I finally did get back in there wasn't even an apology. Do not stay here.

Good location and great for single travellers who still want to have their own room with good price.

Sydney city maisonette  hotel 1.1/2☆ up stairs twin room very small noisy if you're in the room next to the generator. No window or fan in toilet so maybe give each other a hour apart if your thinking of doing a  number two get my drift. Near all city facilities only on road park.

I liked the hotel. Room was cosy and clean and pretty good value for money. Hotel is located in a decent area close to town, parks and shops. The only thing I hated about it was the Wi-Fi. It was almost impossible to use and very frustrating. I would have given an extra star for decent Wi-Fi.

Close to downtown, shopping, tours, restaurants and bars in the immediate area. Public transport and train station are within a few hundred meters from the entrance. Pity that very often the internet didn't function properly.

Room was Tidy, but cosy. Every room has the same pictures on the wall.

I stayed here with my wife and toddler son for business from 18 June-22 June 2015. Although it was raining heavily during that time, we loved the place. Perfect location to bars and restaurants, walking distance to Opera house, Paddys Market and Darling harbor (if you are the kind of person that loves to walk everywhere). The receptionists Johnathan and lady (I think it was Giedri) were very friendly and helpful with a smile. The superior room was great just to sleep as we spent most of the time outside exploring the city. The room was clean with very comfortable queen size bed. Very easy book shuttle bus to airport. We will definitely stay here again if we ever visit Sydney city again. Price very reasonable. Wifi worked well too. Nothing to complain about. Wisteria.

Okay, lets ignore for a second that the room I stayed in was literally a shoebox (I guess that comes with the price), and the shared bathroom (which resulted in me locking myself outside), this is not actually a bad place, more because of the location than anything else. Okay, their Wi-Fi is expensive (and anything more than free is expensive in my books), and they don't have a place for breakfast, but then there is a cafe next door that neatly solves that problem. Potts Point is a lovely part of Sydney, and it is close to a number of harbour walks. However, it is also really close to Kings Cross, and I discovered that to get to this hotel by public transport I was required to walk up Darlinghurst Road a number of times. However, I was not actually hassled by anybody (namely spriukers trying to drag me into some sleazy striptease parlour), but 'The Cross' is not my number one go to destination in Sydney. However, I can at least say that I have stayed there now (actually I have before, but that was years ago).
