Lovely rooms, pleasant friendly and accomodating service. Sara is especially very professional and attentive as are all the stuff. However it is a very long way (and certainly not a comfortable walking distance) from shops and amenities. So the addition of 24 hour room service would be a very attractive extra if anyone there has the dynamism to set it up…!

The place would have been great apart from the fact they put us in a bedroom next to the kitchen! Woke up at 4am to someone washing plates and clanging them on the side. At 5am I asked them to maybe leave the washing up until the morning. 530am he started cooking breakfast… so I had to go out again… so overall not a good nights sleep.

This hotel is very reasonably priced. Friendly and obliging staff. Ideal for access into Huddersfield bus stops very close. Would recommend it.

Excellent service from Reception upon arrival, well-above expectation on the room (booked as a single and allocated a three bed amazingly spacious room). Breakfast was served in the room at no additional cost and a laundry service available for £5 for any number of items. (Does not include pressing but what should one expect for £5. ) Only downside is although excellent choice of breakfast is available in the Dining Room, there is no Restaurant facility available after breakfast and from the limited time I looked, the local fare is not particularly encouraging although the Toby Carvery is only a 10 minute drive. The lack of a bar is well compensated for by the installation of a refrigerator in each room which means you can visit Asda (10 minutes by car) buy your tipple and keep it and mixers in fridge. Caution; if you, like me, are getting on a bit there are some stairs from the car park (immediately behind hotel) and also on the front two entrances, but use the entryphone and the kind and caring staff will help you with your luggage. There is some noise penetration from the corridors but that really depends on the volume and sobriety of other guests. All in all, this is a very good and satisfactory Guest House/Hotel where the "family run" element of customer satisfaction and service is excelled only by the truly committed staff who are a credit to the owners and a godsend to any guest.

Stayed in a Fabulous renovated large room and bathroom in a old Victorian/ Edwardian type house with 2 friends… Were were pleased with the cleanliness and staff helpful and friendly. Did not have breakfast due to the times they serve it 7-9am. Only issue experienced was being woken at 7am on the bank holiday Monday as someone decided it was perfect time to resume renovation work to the floor above (2nd floor), first thought it was domestic staff or other guest however on checking work men were ripping wall down or removing plaster work above… at reception they were very apologetic… Would I stay again yes when they finish renovation… Oh and b good to serve slightly later breakfast or offer breakfast room service.

Lovely place and very well done. Does seem to attract noisy guests though who have no respect for others. Fire alarms being set off and doors slamming. Not hotels fault though but going by reviews it's a common thing. Shame.

Friendly staff and clean. However, I had the feeling that I would stay in a cardboard Persil. The smell of detergent and chlorine was already fierce.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, buffet style breakfast. No bar or restaurant. This hotel is at the high end of the city, wherever you go you have the long drudge back up the hill, (taxi recommended)

A good priced hotel not too far from city centre. Huge room. Very modern and up to date… Breakfasts were awful didn't bother to go down on my third morning. Sausages? And not very warm. No lock on the inside of the door. I queried this but was told the open all doors key card was kept safely on top of the desk… when I travel alone I always put my suitcase against the door. Had a nap after shopping, woke up to find my suitcase next to the radiator… queried this, the cleaner said she had come in to vacuum. No way… I am a very light sleeper… I put a chair against the door when I showered, heard a bump, checked the door it was open against the chair… never leave valuables in a room u can't lock from the inside. Phones computers etc… Plastic bag them and take them to the bathroom with you.

The staff lack professional competency and hotel have no Procedure in place to handle Emergency and Critical situations. I have been through a horrifying situation during my stay here. I have been asked to write my complaint on a plain paper as no procedure was there what to do. The Manager under this critical situation was un-approachable as he/she instructed his staff to do so. His contact number was not provided and termed as personal. I have made a complaint but management didn't bother to response at all. Evidence here with attached.

Brilliant place to stay only 10 min walk to centre nice staff good room cant fault it.

"don't judge a book by its cover" A warm and pleasant experience we had with the family during our stay. The grade listed building has been renovated to a high standard with decoration to match. The rooms are extremely spacious compared to your conventional high street hotel ones and the service provided was second to none. Children had ample space in the rooms to relax and loved that bathroom interior. All in all a fantastic hotel, in fact one of the best ones we've been to in recent years and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Sometimes its nice to have that personal touch with your getaway and the staff definitely went above and beyond in their duties.

You get what you pay for. A snip at £40 per night and it has what you would expect with the addition of a fridge which is handy and a power shower which is preferable for me personally. Parking is very tight! Location isn't bad, no local shops around so you'll need to drive or come prepared. Everyone seemed friendly, receptionist is very helpful.

Great hotel at super reasonable prices. Honestly, I live in hotels 8 months of the year and this a good one.

This a gem of a place. I normally book in well known hotels however I was pleasantly surprised when I booked at the Edgerton. The place has been newly refurbished to a very high standard and its extremely comfortable. There is a fridge in the room, tea and coffee making facilities, a power shower, huge TV and the Wi-Fi is excellent. The staff were also extremely accommodating and the breakfast was excellent value for money. I would definitely be staying here again.

This Hotel is very cloak and dagger, the breakfast is advertised as full English when infact it is a halal substitute for a full English, the sausages are halal lamb sausages and the bacon is precooked processed halal turkey rashers, this information is hidden from the guests in doing so the customers are being deceived in regards to what food there being served, this is extremely disrespectful, also the tables in the dining room are not wiped after each person. The manager (whos name is BILAL) is a obnoxious liar who will at any given chance deduct money from your deposit for 5 mins late checkout. The cups in the rooms are only rinsed with water and not cleaned hygenically with detergent and water. There is a regular presence of police and ambulance services at this hotel, I believe this is due to the many homeless residents who stay there on the other side of the hotel, the manager tells the homeless guest they have to eat breakfast in there room's, and not to knock on each others doors, isolating and treating the homeless as second class citizens, some of the homeless smoke cannabis and take drugs and drink around the grounds of the hotel and break into guests and neighbours cars.

Rooms are nice and clean, reception desk is always manned and the service seems very good.

Actually we booked the Edgerton Guest House at the same address. I had a good room, clean and good *** equipment, friendly staff.

A great weekend at the Edgerton Hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the breakfast plentiful and freshly cooked. All in all a great value for money stay. Will be going back sometime soon!

Lovely hotel. Newly decorated. Spacious room with very high ceiling. Good location, quiet. Comfy bed and beddings, had a very good sleep. Good breakfast as well.

Great value accommodation. I'm sure it will be even better when the refurbishment is complete. Very welcoming staff.

This place is amazing! stayed last night, the receptionist was beyond helpful and professional, and the gentleman we saw in the morning was the same, to be honest ive stayed a few times and everytime it has been top top quality service, I loved it! highly recommend.

Great experience. Like the turkey bacon! Would come again.
