Went for sunday dinner last weekend! absolutely amazing, 10/10. There were 6 of us and getting two sunday dinner platters was more than enough for everyone. Can’t wait to go back!

We had our works Christmas meal here last Friday and everyone commented on how attentive ALL the staff were and how good the food was. Joanne particularly was very helpful (and patient) with the organisation right to the last minute when numbers had reduced so we had to re-organise the seating with minutes to spare! On behalf of my colleagues, thank you for a great afternoon! Honestly cannot find fault — perfect venue so we are booking again for next year (if you’ll have us)!

Visited today 1st August, ordered the Sunday lunch sharing platter for two. Absolutely amazing, Could not fault one thing, very very tasty.
The service was 10/10 staff extremely friendly could not do enough for us.

We went for Christmas Lunch yesterday for our Age UK work meal. Everything was delicious, especially the prawn cocktail. Vegetables were cooked perfectly too. Just been to the Regent hotel for Xmas lunch with 4 friends the food was excellent the service was warm friendly and welcoming nothing was to much trouble one 91 year old friend that could not make Xmas lunch because of illnesses they sent her lunch in containers so she would not miss out on her Xmas lunch so kind. Atmosphere was great thank you so much for all your hard work I would definitely recommend to all my friends I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and thank you.

Super friendly staff, gorgeous rooms (beds are SO comfy! ), great food and a perfect location whether you're going to the Racecourse, the theatre, or into town. Free parking, and I recommend the Thai curry in the restaurant & the Full English too!

I would like to thank everyone at the regent for making our day so special. We had our wedding reception there on Saturday the 28th September and the staff couldn't do enough from start to end. I would highly recommend the regent Hotel.

We had our wedding at the regent hotel on saturday and I just thought I would say WOW it was amazing from start to finish! the food was unreal everyone commented on that. The whole day ran smoothly and genuinely couldn’t of gone any better. Big thanks to jennifer our wedding co-ordinator for everything that made our day as special as it was, if your looking for a place to get married and choose the regent you will definitely not be disappointed. I’m sooo glad this is the place I chose! the DJ was brill had everyone up on the dance floor all night. I could go on for ever it was amazing big thankyou to the regent team.

You cannot beat the “real deal” hotel in Doncaster, not part of some large group but a family run business with a big group service. Firstly the food is simply stunning, the function rooms are wonderfully equipped for any function, large or small and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and clean. If you come to Doncaster and you miss this hotel so you can stop somewhere £10 less then it’s definitely your loss and only 100 metres from the town centre. The Sunday dinner platters are fantastic. Not to be missed.

Just spent the night on the valentines evening special. Lovely steak meal with wine, warm cozy room and full English breakfast next morning, £99. Great value and all the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Parking a bit of a nightmare. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms nice but a little small for the price. Very clean and everything you would need in them. Breakfast nice and hotel inside very nice.

Another place recommended by Dave at Loud Crowd, Clean room, which staff were able to get me into earlier than standard check in time. Garden view is nice, Wifi and room service if needed, All staff I had interaction with were unbelievably lovely, you do not get this in most hotels! Rooms were very big, perfect for business travel in great location close to shops & restaurants & quiet!

What a beautiful hotel! it is easy to find, full of lovely staff and the food is great. Very affordable and luxurious! I will be paying a visit again very soon.

Staff were very friendly, and it was clean. Cheap and cheerful! Room was very hot, and faced out onto the street, which was incredibly noisy — even during the week.

Had a brilliant time, we booked my wife’s surprise 30th birthday here and stayed over in the the park suite. The venue was brilliant, food was perfect with generous portions, staff couldn’t do enough for us. They helped with setting up and planning, to even getting in on the surprise itself. The room and stay was perfect, comfortable and luxurious. Breakfast itself was lovely, especially with the coffee which was desperately needed. Regent keep up the good work, I do highly recommend this venue for any occasion, will be back.

A nice enough place. My food wasn’t great but other people seemed to enjoy theirs but mine wasn’t great. The garlic bread was stale and barely tasted of garlic, while my pizza was fine except that there only seemed to be toppings on half of it. The real annoyance was the price of drinks. I payed London prices without even leaving Yorkshire. £9.70 for two pints of Carlsberg is crazy, especially when the same round in a pub over the road cost me £6.10!

Had a lovely afternoon at The Regent Hotel with my Best friend Sam and My daughter Jessica, I just Love it there. They always make you welcome and all the staff are so wonderful. Rainor can not do enough to help and always has a smile her face and she just lights up your day when you see her. She is so fantastic and wonderful. I can't wait for my wedding at The Regent Hotel next year. I can't give The Regent Hotel enough praise.

The place looked very tired especially our room. No toilet roll holder, a chip in the bath, bath panel had been badly repaired. We were asked on arrival if we wanted to up grade from a 3/4 bed to a double which we did for an extra £10 per night. In hindsight that was a mistake as the room we were given overlooked the car park and either the kitchen or cellar as a fan kept going on and off all night. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Food was Ok.

Stopped 3 nights. Great privately owned hotel. Location to town centre brilliant. Parking in hotel grounds. We ate one evening meal which was good. Staff friendly. Lovely breakfast cafe across the road for low cost home made grub. 7 to 2pm week days. 8 to 2 pm Saturday. Would recommend.

The room I had was clean and given the time that I arrived that was all I was interested in. They are trying hard with the decor. Best part of the stay was breakfast. Freshly cooked to order. Well presented and really tasty. Kept me full for the day. Staff were all friendly.

Hotel in the center of Doncaster. However I think price too high just for the location. Hotel will like people who are conservative style. Hotel personal pleasant. However lobies are really narrow and find you room could be tricky because of confusing signs and complex inside architecture. Second thing windows with bars on second floor and view makes you feel like in custody or other unpleasant institution. In rooms you will find tea and trosers press. Tv could be better for the price. Breakfast not included in room price for me personally this is drawback.

Centrally located in Doncaster this family run hotel is how hotels used to be, a friendly, comfortable place to stay away from home. Beautifully decorated & maintained overlooking a square garden in a quiet area but very close / walkable to the town centre. My room was comfortable furnished with a view over the gardens. Very large comfortable bed with good pillows ensured a good night's sleep. My room had a very large modern bathroom. There are two bars but they are not noisy one being in their restaurant which serves popular bar type meals. I had the nachos with chilli and guacamole. Very tasty! Super friendly staff at reception and behind the bar. I have stayed in a few hotels in Doncaster and none of them compare to the quality of service or furnishings to here. My only complaint is the breakfast ends far too early. When you're working it's great to eat before going to work but when you have a day off you have to choose between breakfast or some more time in bed. An 10 or 11am end to breakfast would be most welcome as it's not a hard thing to cater for and extend the hours a little bit more. I will definitely be staying here again.

Thank you for making our wedding reception a dream from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff who helped with any little request we had. Buffet Food was incredible as was the full English breakfast this morning, atmosphere was electric and the DJ kept everything running like clockwork. Our park view room was stunning, just wish I had longed to sample the spa bath! Special thank you to Lee and Simon for their incredible hospitality and kind nature, even helping us to pack everything into the car for our return journey. Can’t recommend The Regent enough for a wedding/party venue. Thanks again.

Warm and friendly atmosphere. Great events room. Nearby parking. Great food.

Good hotel in the middle of Doncaster, handy for restaurants. Small car park available. On street parking available overnight until 10 am. Very friendly staff. My room was comfortable with heating that works. I've only eaten here once, but my food was ok. Slight problem was I arrived 20 minutes before advertised restaurant closing time to be told they thought chef had already done last orders — they had to check. It would be better if the advertised times reflected when you could order — I didn't like to feel the staff were doing me a favour by getting me my dinner.

Limited parking spaces. So had to drive nearly a mile away from the hotel. One small pack of 2 biscuits between 2 people. Biscuits were broken. Not enough complimentary tea, milk and sugar in room. When I asked reception for more milk, tea and biscuits, I was told only the room cleaners have access to these things. I was given a jug of cold milk from The bar.

Really poor service took an age to get served and then was 4.80 for a pint of larger which are London prices. Was there for a works Christmas Party but had to wait till gone 8 to be seated at on a very small table with hardly any room having to eat a very poor buffet unable to use my arm's correctly. We were given a drinks voucher for 3 free drinks but we're limited to either a shot a small glass of house wine or a small bottle of Becks which is very poor value for the money which was paid. As for the entertainment well this was a poor man's Freddy Mercury who was so bad all the staff went back to the bar. You should be ashamed of yourselves for charging all those overpriced drinks and the poor seating, food and entertainment, and get back to the drawing board.

Brilliant place, great stuff and the owner is a pleasure to be around. I go roughly twice a month and feel very comfortable there. And the food is very nice.

The staff were very friendly on check in and the room looked modern on the face of things. However things quickly went south. The floor was very creaky, the bathroom had a strong odour of mould the bath panel, coat hook and wardrobe door were all loose and coming off and there was no guest information such as check out time, Wi-Fi password or local attractions and restaurants. The cherry on top was there was no hot water from the shower in the morning. The tap in the sink gave off hot water but for some reason the shower didn't.

Arrived after a tough days work. Reception quite chaotic and bordering on rude. We had upgraded rooms during the day to "executive". Given room key and found room through a maze of corridors. Room was pokey and window was wired frosted glass with a kitchen extractor fan whirring loudly outside. Opened wardrobe door to hang up my coat and door fell off. Asked reception for another room and response was surley, eventually another room was located on top floor, smelt of fried food as guess what it was above kitchen extractor. And wardrobe door was hanging off, radiator did not work. Just put up with it as needed sleep to work the next day. Do not stay in this awful place.

An excellent location less than a ten minute walk from the town centre, right next to the racecourse. Every member of staff greeted me with a smile and with outstanding customer service. Both dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The room itself was spacious with a decent sized bathroom — there was every amenity from a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee to a hairdryer. I'd happily give 5 stars, but there was just one thing too many wrong with housekeeping and maintenance. The bulb in the corridor to our room was out, in the room there was a thick layer of dust on the trouser press. There was a cabinet that the doors were held shut with a paper coaster; and the shower didn't seem to want to work for more than 30 seconds. To top it off what we can only assume was a fire alarm went off twice at 11:30pm and 7:15am resulting in not the most relaxing sleep I've ever had… Overall though, wonderful place, a building with great character and superb staff to match.

Beautiful little hotel. Room was really nice, it had lounge chairs, table, desk and a TV. Big comfortable bed. Shower/bath. It is located walking distance to the train station and the middle of town which was perfect. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were really good. Lovely helpful staff as well. Great stay, thank you.

During the week I often call in for a drink or occasionally a quick lunch. Last Sunday went with the family for Sunday Lunch for the first time — excellent! The sharing platters are a great idea (other menu options still available) but I would strongly recommend the platter — really good! Service was quick, live music playing appropriate background style songs was a great touch. Nice also to see the chef come out of the kitchen and chat to each table! All round excellent Sunday lunchtime!

Nice bar during afternoon although the atmosphere felt a bit cold. Probably better when it's a bit busier.
