I would like to say thank you so much to the lovely ladies on reception who to care of me with blankets and ice pack after a nasty fall outside the Indigo Hotel. They were so reassuring and their prompt action really aided my recovery until the ambulance came they were absolutely marvellous xx.

Would recommend thus hotel great location friendly staff.

We had a great 4 night stay at Hotel Indigo, the room was fab, the bed huge, breakfast yummy and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here 21/10/22 for 2 nights. Mum and daughter getaway. From arrival to departure every single member of staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was large plenty of tea, coffee etc and complimentary water and cans of coke. There was a safe, iron and ironing board in room. A large bathroom and complimentary toiletries. We had breakfast on both days and thoroughly enjoyed them. Large selection of continental and several choices on hot menu. Would definitely stay again.

Great quiet room, not much of a view though. Breakfast service needs improvement, made to allocate time the night before but still no available tables at my chosen 9.30am, either had people at them or covered with uncleared crockery. Wasn't offered tea or coffee, and cold cuts covered in flies.

I went to York with a friend. We had stayed in a twin superior room at this hotel before in York. The room was nice, beds comfy, shower great. Breakfast — plenty of choice. Also, we chose 'The Chocolate Package, ' which included afternoon tea, breakfast and a box of chocs in the room. The afternoon tea wasn't bad, but there wasn't much choice for vegetarians re sandwiches. I don't eat red meat, do eat fish. I had salmon and cream cheese and cheese and tomato. My friend who is vegetarian — the only option was cheese and tomato sandwiches, which was a bit boring. Apparently the chef wasn't there. The cakes were a generous size and some were nicer than others. Overall — a great stay.

The staff were amazing went for my partners birthday they sorted everything out discreetly. The rooms are amazing he absolutely loved it and the extra touches made his birthday extra special we will definitely be back thank you so much!

Great hotel retro chic decor, rooms comfortable and clean, ideal location for all the sites we wanted to visit. Staff very polite and helpful. We are looking to book again for the summer.

Modern hotel in central location, decidedly quirky as with most indigo establishments. Attached bar (No. 88 Walmgate) is a Mecca for the hipster craft beer crowd but reasonable selection of other drinks too. In September 2021 many of the local stores were closed due to COVID so you will need to take a 10 minute walk in the centre of town for most purchases.

Very friendly staff and a very clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and bathroom large. Lovely area to stay just a few minutes walk to all attractions. Would highly reccommend.

Had a fantastic 2 night stay here last week. Room was lovely and clean and the service of the hotel reception and restaurant/bar staff was excellent. Great location 5 minute walk into the city. Will definitely be staying here again next time we visit.

Fab rooms, quirky deco & great staff.

Not very helpful, really looking forward to a night in February here courtesy of my children purchased through Booking. Com go myself and partner as part of our Christmas gift. Obviously lockdown has prevented this, my daughter tried to change the date but the hotel would not hold the price in fact it was almost doubled. They have now cancelled the booking which in the current situation not very fair and certainly not accommodating.

The afternoon tea for 4 of us was really nice. The staff were friendly and kept us all topped up with hot drinks and water. Great value and lovely surroundings!

Staff and management were very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean, stylish and relaxing. I would recommend the breakfast and nachos. The hotel is in a great location to see all the sights, amazing bars and restaurants. We will definitely stay I the hotel again.

We have just spent a night at this hotel. Great location. Lovely modern rooms and public areas. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Lovely staff. Check in and out was easy and without issue. Bar staff were great. A couple of really chatty friendly and knowledgeable chaps. Great choice of gins. The restaurant staff for breakfast were cheery and chatty.
Huge bed. Good little fridge in the room. Nespresso machine in the room. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay again.

Loved staying here, the rooms were great the bed was comfy and you have exceptional staff working for you which should be rewarded. The staff went above and beyond for us and we will certainly be coming again to stay. 5* service.

This is the incest hotel I have ever stayed in the staff are extremely attentive and professional and seem to genuinely care about the quality of your stay breakfast was second to none definitely deserved its 5 star rating.

We enjoyed a lovely stay here. The staff were great, really helpful. The hotel smells beautiful, it's very clean. The room was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean & very spacious. The bathroom is fantastic with a huge shower. Great little extras in the room, such as fresh milk, water, chocolate & lovely toiletries. Great sized TV with good channels too. My only negative is the bed wasn't comfortable for me but I'm really awkward with beds so it's probably just me, I also needed a ladder to get on it haha.
Thank you for a great stay, we will be back, amazing price for a hotel 5mins from the city centre.

Stayed for a 2 day break. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and our superior king room was well equipped. The hotel was 5 to 7 min walk from the shambles so not centrally situated was still close to York centre.

Really beautiful hotel with fabulous and friendly staff only too pleased to ensure all our needs were met. Our initial contact was with Tom who was really helpful and checked us in quickly and efficiently. The room was impeccably clean and the bathroom beautiful. Extremely comfortable bed which made for a restful sleep followed by a wonderful breakfast with a huge choice of both hot and cold foods. A truly luxurious experience. Will most definitely visit again.

Great hotel. Perfect location, great restaurants on the same street, short walk into York centre yet quiet at night. Hotel is very clean and modern with industrial decor. We opted for a superior room with super king size bed and it did not disappoint. Breakfast includes a buffet with so much to choose from plus a hot menu inclusive of a full English, smoked salmon on scrambled egg, plus others. Will stay again when next in York. Would 100% recommend.

Good hotel with a good location for exploring the wonderful city of York. Quiet and well furnished with excellent rooms. Bed was huge and the rain shower amazing! Would definitely stay here again! Only downside is the £12.50 for the car parking which is a rip off on top!

Customer service and complaints need an overview. They didn't handle my complaint very well. Lovely hotel reception and bar area shame it is in such a noisy area with late night revellers and early morning cleaners. Be careful of the car parking take plenty of change or ensure you use the phone parking service correctly. Small but comfortable rooms. Unlikely to stay here again.

Rooms are in good condition. On the small side but not too bad. Very good bar with a great selection of local beers. Breakfast was generally good but the full English was poor. Overall very good for the price.

Very nice hotel. Staff were most helpful and pleasant. Nice rainwater shower but it didn't drain away all that well. We had a standard room and found it quite small with the amount of furniture in it. Would stay there again.

Once again a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Very good breakfast choice and quality produce. Great staff and the complimentary 'extras' in the room are most welcome like well chilled bottles of water in the fridge, small bottle of fresh milk for tea and coffee and a bar of chocolate. Not forgetting the ideal location of this hotel in York situated on a street of good restaurants and cafes and individual shops ratjer than chain stores. Would recommend a stay here; all in all good value for money.

Lovely rooms and public areas. Very clean really responsive and chatty staff very helpful. Really really good vegetarian breakfast even though I'm not veggie. Cocktails limited and a bit on the weak side but bar staff very friendly. Really quiet and not far from everything York has to offer. Not sure the exec rooms are worth the extra. Not the cheapest either. I can't give 4.5 stars but 4 seems too stingy.

Excellent hotel, good staff and extremely clean. Location is ideal for food lovers, as there are plenty of great restaurants within a five minute walk. Only down side, we could hear our neighbours, but in fairness, only occasionally. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is immaculate and recently refurbished. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. It is only a short walk to some great restaurants and pubs/bars (no more than 5 mins walk). The breakfast was excellent as well. Overall I was very happy with my stay and would gladly stay there again.

Loved this place! It was in a really convenient location and was spotlessly clean, lovely décor. The staff were very friendly, especially the woman at breakfast — whom I presume was the manager, who was exceptionally bubbly and welcoming. The room and facilities were brilliant and I didn't want to leave. Considering going back to York just to stay there again! 100% recommend!

Was a little noisy at night due to being surrounded by student accommodation, so perhaps be a little prepared at weekends and bring earplugs, but staff are helpful and genuinely friendly. Our room was clean and fresh smelling on arrival, with complimentary fresh milk in the fridge, along with biscuits and chocolate to go with the plentiful supply of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate also, the bathroom was well appointed, again with complimentary soaps and shampoos, along with large fluffy towels, robes, and slippers… but having said all that, the best feature of this hotel was the breakfast, so much choice, such good quality, even being gluten intolerant, I had so much choice… I’ve stayed in some fancy and much more expensive hotels, and I can say hand on heart, that I’ve never had a better breakfast — can’t recommend highly enough.

Stayed here a few weeks ago with my fiance. Unfortunately she was pretty poorly at the time but the hotel was amazing and really helped to improve what could have turned into a nightmare stay in York. I requested flowers and chocolates in the room when we arrived, which they were more than happy to help with and even put a personalised message on the mirror for her. We loved the hotel so much we even opted to stay a further night on top of the two days we originally booked in the hope my partner was feeling better and could enjoy a bit more of York. Unfortunately she wasn't feeling better but we couldn't have asked for a more comfortable room for her to relax & recharge her batteries in. We are hoping to visit york again when she is better and won't hesitate to use hotel indigo again. Thank you to everyone at hotel indigo.

I have stayed in many hotels in the world. This is in my top ten. Why: it is spotlessly clean. Food is good but more importantly the staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect, rooms are spacious. I will definitely look out for indigo hotels in the future.

Just come back from a stay at the Indigo York wow what a fantastic Hotel very modern and quirky defiantly lives up to its 5* all the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, the bedrooms are full of extras to make your stay that bit special the bathroom had the biggest shower I've ever seen, breakfast was very tasty with lots of choice hot and cold would recommend to anyone and can't wait to go back in the future.

Centrally located, within 5 minutes walk of city centre. Very well appointed time and good restaurant. Tapas style menu available in restaurant with comfortable bar and reception area. Limited parking available 150 meters walk away.

Really enjoyed our two night stay here. Check in was very smooth with the option of opening an account for any purchases made in the hotel. The room itself was a fantastic size for an inner city hotel with all the amenities you would expect. Bathroom was spacious and clean with a good shower and plenty of towels and bathrobes. The bed was comfortable with plenty of options for pillows and the curtains stretched further than the window offering a great black out effect. As is to be expected the rooms aren't totally sound proof and the climate control is a little loud but nothing that detracted from the overall stay. The breakfast was one of the best we've had with a huge array of continental goods and the ability to order cooked food from the kitchen. We also enjoyed a few reasonably priced cocktails from the bar in the evenings where all the staff were great. Overall would definitely recommend and it's made us consider Hotel Indigo hotels in other cities when we next go away.

Service was good. Staff were friendly. Wi-Fi was free and not too slow. Food was good. Bar was reasonably priced. Room was comfy but the lights are annoying (not a single master switch; individual lights above the bed with button switches).

Excellent hotel in a great location for exploring yorks many bars and restaurants. Very clean and good service. We stayed in 1 of the Premier rooms which was very nice with everything you could need. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The only niggle was the price, I thought it was a little excessive and 12.50 per day to use the car park on top just really annoyed me. There's a car park right next to it "peel St" which is only £9 per day, I recommend using that 1 especially as we were told on the phone that parking on there's was only £4.50… Odd. I would use this hotel again but maybe a cheaper room (as your hardly in it anyway) and park somewhere else.

The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the centre of York and provides good quality accommodation. A restaurant is provided in the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you require. Parking is charged extra at 12.50 pounds and is located approx 2 minutes drive away. Be sure to display your ticket in the windscreen. Overall, the staff are very pleasant.

We have stayed at other 5 star hotels in York before but opted for the more realistic price of the Hotel Indigo for our recent visit. It didn’t disappoint, great friendly staff to check you in. Great modern decoration and wonderful room. Lots of free goodies from water to chocolate bar. Sky TV and Apple iPhone dock. A large super king bed and nice quiet location provided a great night sleep. Location is perfect for shopping, eating and drinking within easy walk. Wi-fi was good quality and complimentary.

Rooms are beautiful, reception staff always very friendly. On a wonderful street for restaurants. High quality food in the restaurant and lovely complimentary goodies in the room.
Things that need to be improved — service in the restaurant is very poor. Not enough staff, waiters that forget what you've asked for, drinks take far too long to reach the table.

Stayed here for my birthday and lively hotel just out of the court centre. We had a room on the 3rd floor and it was huge. Lovely rain forest shower. Bed was massive and comfortable. Lots of cafes and restaurants on the same street.

Nice trendy hotel. Quality rooms, good breakfast, only 5 minutes walk from York city centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants very near by ~

Brilliant hotel — We stayed for our honeymoon this week.
Lovely room and en suite. Coffee machine. Bath robes and slippers. Complementary chocolates, crisps etc which are refilled every day.
5 min walk into centre and surrounded with lovely bars and places to eat.
Breakfast is the best we have ever seen. Only fault we can pin point — the heat of the breakfast area — sweltering!

This is a nice, clean, quirky and central hotel close to all things in York. Checking in process was quick and trouble free, the room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable enough, bathroom was again nice and clean with a good shower. The bar area is relaxed, there was a good selection of bottled real ales. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast was lovely and the other cooked choices looked nice. All together a good well run hotel with pleasant helpful staff.

Staying at this hotel for a four day work trip on the recommendation of a colleague, I was skeptical. There was no way on God's green earth that it could live up to his superfluous and glowing words. Could the beds really be that soft? Could the staff really be that friendly and helpful? The breakfast so diverse and of such quality? Yes. Yes to all. A thousand times yes. Whilst I draw breath, I shall never stay anywhere else, when staying in this beautiful city for within its majestic, ancient walls, I have found Eden. A paradise of understated, classy perfection. More power to thee, Indigo, for you hath created something wonderful here.

Visited for a birthday celebration for my fiancée, team went out of the way to make our weekend, writing happy birthday on the mirror and leaving a lovely snack of chocolate doughnuts. Stunning decor, incredible service, genuine, helpful & attentive staff, especially duty manager Steven. Beautifully presented breakfast. Will definitely be returning here.

A very causy and stylish hotel. Pretty much central. Standard rooms are a bit small but that's forgiveable. Lovely breakfast.

Lovely, friendly and on a human scale. Wonderfully decorated. The room5are very comfortable but the ensuite is a bit cramped. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will stay here again.

Lovely hotel, everything you need in the room plus robes and slippers! Fantastic bathroom with rainfall shower. Lovely bar and restaurant. Within a few minutes walk of York centre. We were well impressed and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay here. The bedroom was nicely decorated with a quirky feel. The room was clean and came with air-con and black out curtain, which made sleeping here really easy. The bathroom was a good size and comfortable to do bathroom based things in. A nice touch of a fridge in the room for real milk with coffee, but unfortunately the milk was off (although still in date). Free chocolate and water in the fridge too. The breakfast was phenomenal. The full yorkshire was okay, but the waffle machine was brilliant. Fresh fruit, cheese and meats, fresh juices, granola and yoghurt with fruit, pastries, toast, cereal, just so much delicious choice. To sum up we had a great room, an amazing breakfast, all in handy location for York, but away from the noise of pubs etc. Will definitely be back.

I have stayed in many of the Hotel Indigo chain hotels. This is by far the best one ever. Staff was so friendly & the room was great & sized just nice. Car park is a block away which was not hard to find. York in a whole was a gorgeous little town.

I was here a couple of days on business. The hotel is really central, the staff very friendly and the room was really nice with a unique design. I would consider the parking the only downside (you have the walk a block, it's really dark and not paved) but I guess for such a central location…

The rooms are some of the nicest rooms I've ever seen with wood interior and even a Nespresso coffee machine with a variety of capsules (Nice touch! ) Great food and drinks downstairs too for breakfast and dinner. The outside doesn't do it justice in my opinion, it's really great inside!

Brilliant clean rustic deco good friendly staff.

The room was spotless & the staff was very courteous. The car park was a few blocks away which wasn't bad to find for a clueless American. The area is safe & I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The Wi-Fi was a lifesaver being overseas.

This hotel was very clean, comfortable, the entire staff was very personable and attentive. The location is great, within walking distance of many pubs and restaurants. Also, make sure you get up in time for breakfast — it is delightful!

Clean, modern rooms with a boutique feel. Selection of treats, fresh milk and water everyday for free. Ironing board and iron and proper hangers. Large shower (no bath). Robes and slippers as standard. Small fitness room with free weights, multi gym, 2 treadmills, cross trainer and stepper. Great location as in a quiet neighbourhood with lots of quirky shops and small restaurants but within easy walk of major attractions. The only thing that lets it down is the on site restaurant. "The Yorkshire meatball Co. " nothing wrong with the food as such, but not a varied menu — but there are loads of alternatives nearby. Have stayed at indigo three times so far and will be back.

Modern hotel in the centre if York. It was quite pricey but the room was very comfortable. You also get a fridge filled with a little milk instead of the tiny cartons as well as some biscuits.

Lovely premises. Comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Great facilities. Good location. Total gem with some nice attention to detail. Good Wi-Fi available for free. It if the sign-in sort so if traveling with a Chromecast etc then make provision. That said, the new Samsung televisions here have some streaming and mirroring support.

I had stayed several times at this Hotel Indigo York. The location is perfect, at least for me as it is so close to National Railway Museum and York University. Great Wi-Fi connection and the room were very quiet. Staffs were fantastic.
