Visited for 2 nights with husband and 2 children (8 & 5) and had a wonderful stay.
Large spotless rooms, everything was quality, beds very comfortable and amazing breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend.

We stay in this B&B every year when we visit York for my girlfriend's birthday. The rooms are always spotless, the bed comfy, the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming and the cooked breakfast is lovely and just what you need after a night in York's pubs. We tried a couple of other hotels in the city before we found this place, that were ok, but now we would never stay anywhere else. Top notch.

Absolutely amazing place. Very clean and comfy rooms. All staff are friendly and the lady how owns it does an amazing job to ensure her very high standards are maintained. Come here every year, and will defo be back next year ❤❤

Ascot House is a lovely, cosy, traditional B&B with nice, clean bedrooms, modern bathrooms, warm, friendly staff and fantastic, award-winning breakfasts. It’s a little out of the city centre but well within walking distance and with a bus stop outside. We loved our 2 night stay and felt well looked after. Lisa and Sandrine were great and Lisa’s memory for breakfast orders is amazing! We will definitely be back and may even bring our dog next time. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

Loved everything about Ascot House. It is a beautiful place to stay. Our room was very big and the bathroom was spotless.

You hardly realise how professional these wonderful people are. Beautiful old house in a quiet area. Whenever we stay in York, and we have been coming on and off for many years, there is only one hotel for us.

We only stayed here for one night, but that one night was great! We were in the very top room over looking the front garden and road. The room was huge, the beds were comfy, nice clean bathroom with toiletries, kettle with tea coffee, biscuits and bottles of water supplied free. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, cooked to order and very fresh, with a great selection of pastries, fresh and dried fruit, and other items available. Also have free parking. We wished we could of stayed longer and if we ever go back we woukd definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful house. Our room (No 11) was gorgeous, plenty of room and the bathroom was very modern and spacious with big fluffy towels. Lisa was so friendly and attentive without being intrusive, we really enjoyed our breakfasts. So much variety from full English to just toast and fruit, certainly were spoiled for choice. Ascot House is so convenient for the city centre, only a 15 minute stroll and we were at the Minster. We would recommend this guest house to anyone wanting a few days in York.

Lovely venue to stay in during our trip to York. The breakfast is the best by far. Freshly cooked to perfection every morning! Room very comfortable and welcoming staff.

What can I say apart from perfect, I’ve had such a bad experience of guesthouses in the past that I was hesitant to say the least and how wrong could I be, the owners were attentive without being overbearing, the facilities were well maintained and comfortable, we had an amazing two nights here and was able to bring our beloved pooches with us which made it all the better, the breakfast was exceptional and nothing was too much, the nice 15 minute walk into York and dog friendly pubs that our hosts helped us pick out made our stay even better, I felt relaxed and well catered for and the break was one of the best I’ve had in years, I will without a doubt be coming back to stay here and I can’t recommend it more.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely guest house (we wished it was longer). I have to say we loved everything about it. The rooms were immaculately clean I would even go as far to say the bathroom was cleaned to such a high standard it was sparkling. The breakfast was also of a high standard with variety in abundance something to suit everyone and all fresh and cooked to order. The staff and owner were all very professional and very helpful. We go up every year for the viking festival so I think now we have found our place to stay for 2 nyts in the years coming as It would be a pleasure to stay here again. What a find.

We come to york eveyyear at this of year and stay in the centre but couldn’t get anywhere. So decided to do a guest house and we have been so pleased. It’s a lovely place warm and inviting, and are room lovely number 17 well recommend. There is nothing to complain about apart from hair dryer wasn’t very hot but that’s really being picky. And the breakfasts very nice and lovely helpful staff too. We got taxis most of the time as it was so cold they where great on time and very quick! And reasonable so In all had a fab weekend staying at the Ascot House and would certainly come back.

Lovely hotel was so comfortable and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful the hotel had a lot of history behind it and the hotel was maintained beautifully.

The wife and myself stopped here for our honeymoon twenty five years ago and still keep going back every time we visit York… its Superb.

Good accomodation but over familiar staff (how's about knocking before coming in and making yourself known before coming in bathroom! — perhaps should have locked door). Lovely decorative building. Not a long walk from centre. Nice staff and breakfast. Clean. Top end feel to it. Modern bathrooms.

Just had a fantastic weekend, the wife`s 50th birthday booked for Friday to Sunday the service the rooms the breakfast the staff absolutely superb. Booked in advance to the local pub The Walnut tree food amazing Saturday night booked into the local Indian restaurant The Mumbi lounge the best I have ever had and trust me I like Indian food these are all recommended by Ascot House and they even booked them for me way in advance of my booking date. As for York itself great short walk into town very nice. Many thanks to all the staff at Ascot House see you again very soon Ian, Julie Smith.

A lovely b&b. Staff friendly and very helpful. Room great with a beautiful bed. Breakfast delicious with good choices. 15 — 20 mins walk to the centre. Would definitely recommend.

Staff were very helpful with excellent local knowledge. Room was immaculately clean and very comfortable, though TV was rather small and remote didn't work well. There was a little noise from traffic and neighbouring rooms but not enough to keep us up. Excellent breakfast in the morning with friendly, quick service.

What a charming hotel. We were met at the door by a warm and knowledgable consierge. The room was very clean and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. If I return to York, I will stay here.
