Fabulous place. Very friendly and great surroundings.

Swinton is the perfect wedding venue and they hosted a fairy-tale wedding for ourselves in May 2022. Everything was perfect, the staff were helpful and attentive, the food was amazing and enjoyed by all our guests, and the DJ hired by the venue was brilliant. From the moment we went to visit to enquire the staff were extremely helpful, with the events manager Johanna keeping in regular contact and helping us rearrange when Covid hit. The staff were extremely flexible, adjusting things to make everything perfect for our day, including allowing our dog to be the ring bearer. The day ran so smoothly and this is a massive testimony to the staff who were so organised and supportive and made our day perfect. All the vendors recommended were extremely professional. From the stunning venue, both inside the castle, including the various rooms used for the wedding, and outside with the lovely walled gardens and lake, to the amazing facilities and stunning rooms included in the package we cannot fault. We would thoroughly recommend this venue to anyone planning.

The spa was incredible! The Grange was a beautiful place to stay with my family! Gorgeous outside space. Friendly helpful staff!

The spa is amazing and staff are extremely helpful and the food is out of this world. I had a Hot Stone massage by Kath during my visit, it was amazing and would definitely recommend the experience.

Stunning spa. Really relaxing and beautiful to just be ‘in’. Treatments were amazing and we loved the attention to detail, the thermal experience and the outdoor lounge area.

We where at Swinton Park for afternoon tea, they are so accommodating, and they went out if their way, to make us feel welcome and valued… also made our little Jack Russell (who's unwell) feel special too, wonderful experience 😀

Absolutely beautiful hotel the spa is so relaxing we stayed in one of the two cottages really nice everything you needed was in there gorgeous furniture so clean the whole estate is amazing The food was outstanding the service was excellent cant recommend this hotel enough.

Did a cookery course (Simple Suppers) and it was brilliant. Our instructor was excellent. The best cookery course I have ever been on. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful place to stay. Very welcoming, attentive staff. Both restaurants were fabulous and our room was perfect. Falconry experience was cancelled due to atrocious weather, but that's ok, it means we get to come back for another stay!

Our first visit to the terrace restaurant, for my friends 60th birthday. Beautiful surrounding, friendly helpful staff. We loved the afternoon tea, the earl grey tea was very good I will be back as would love to walk through the grownds.

I would give it less if I could. Absolutely horrendous customer service. In all honesty I’ve had better customer service in premier inn. If you have a choice go somewhere else. It would be cheaper and less of an annoyance. The staff at reception are absolutely ill mannered and rude especially when it come to there time to clock off. One can only assume that the staff don’t want to be there either. There is some many structural issues with the hotel itself I’m actually surprised there is not seriously injury’s. The worst hotel in the area without a doubt save your money and your time. This will be taken down but heed my warning.

Amazing place, I was a member here for 6mths. Set in stunning grounds, the gym is small, can be quiet cold in there if the air conditioning is on. Plus it's aimed more at fitness, also it's average member age must be 55+. Great Steam Rooms, Hydro Pool, and Saunas. Only draw back I noticed is it can get busy at weekends, hen party's, hotel guest's, and people pampering themselves. Staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful.

I went for afternoon tea (the scones were absolutely perfect), which was lovely and plenty provided, the table service were excellent and they didn't hesitate to appease the childrens demands and assist with anything. The grounds were beautiful and extensive, with a walled garden, falconry, wild deer and more all available to view at your leisure. Thoroughly enjoyed my time and would recommend.

A big building that is a pleasure to be in, even nicer grounds to explore, good bar and experienced barmen and a very nice spa. I felt some aspects of the interior were a bit dated by my other half loved every bit of it. Perhaps more a woman’s stay than a mans.

The good lady attended one of the cookery classes. Recommended. She will be back again.

Have stayed here many times before, it was lovely, went to book again online instead of calling. Received an email confirmation with a £0 price as it was when booking on their own website and pre paid my £100 deposit. Received an email the following day to say it would cost me £375 to stay. When I forwarded my confirmation email I was offered my prepayment back but no discount for the Thursday night stay or apology for bringing it to their attention that they must have a problem with their booking software. Very sad at the customer service so decided to write this review as they could not be bothered with their customers so I will not recommend or stay their again. Very sad as normally Yorkshire hospitality is lovely. Maybe need new staff…

Amazing Chefs table experience on first night. Would highly recommend booking. Lovely room hotel and setting. The newly built spa was lovely and the massages we had booked were excellent. Highly recommend, we had a great 10th anniversary trip there.

Another fantastic day at the Cookery School. This time it was tapas. A great lunch, more a veritable feast, prepared by us.

A friend and myself went for the mini half day spa package that included use of the spa facilities a mini treatment and afternoon tea. The actual spa facilities here are fabulous. Some of the best I've been to so that part of the package was lovely. The treatment was just half hour but was fine. The girl I had for my massage couldn't speak very good English so it made trying to communicate my requirements with her very difficult. The staff however were very friendly and helpful. The very disappointing aspect of this package was the afternoon tea. A big let down. It wasn't a proper afternoon tea by any stretch of the imagination. We got a sandwich on a plate in bread that seemed like it had been left out all day. It wasn't nice. We were then given 2 full size scones on a plate and a separate slice of chocolate cake. It was very strange as It wasn't afternoon tea at all. It was like someone just couldn't be bothered! We didn't complain at the time because it was a treat for my friend for her birthday and we didn't want to spoil the afternoon. We would return but on booking we'll mention the bad experience about the afternoon tea2abd perhaps ask just to have something off the main menu instead… all said it is a lovely spot and my friend and I hope to go again.

Very disappointed with New Year afternoon tea here. Service was hopeless. It was a buffet meal but we had to wait ages for prosecco and then it seemed a big problem to supply us with tea! Stewed cups of tea were brought eventually but it was a struggle to get our own pot. The sandwiches had thick bread and thin filling. Scones were good but we had to ask for jam and cream as there were just dirty, empty containers on the buffet. We stood waiting so long that we had to ask a second person as the first never came back. We did complain at the time but no one was taking overall responsibility. It was such a shame because it was a special treat at £21.00 a head.

Went to Swinton Park for a twilight spa evening. The hotel is beautiful and set in scenic grounds. The spa itself is second to none that I have been to; spotlessly cleaning, a lot of thought into extra touches and the facilities themselves are fantastic. We went for a meal in the terrace after our time in the spa, and the food was incredible. All staff members I encountered were exemplary. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.

We arrived for a wedding showcase and absolutely loved both the premises and selected partners for their wedding packages. Lauren was a great host and the grounds were stunning in their entirety. Thoroughly recommend Swinton Park from both bug occasions and short stays. They were exceptionally attentive.

We had the most amazing time at this hotel. The grounds are magnificent and the service we received from ALL the staff was exceptional — they were incredibly accommodating and helpful. Would recommend dining at The Terrace — food was out of this world and staff were wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in this lovely hotel for one night. The new spa complex and associated restaurant + fruit garden are an absolute must see 5*****+. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a beautiful country get away.

I visited the spa and bistro restaurant attached and was blown away. The quality of the food, the service, the facilities — these are all of the highest quality. A brilliant visit and I look forward to returning.

I enjoyed a spa mini day which included; afternoon tea, 2 hours in the spa and a 35 minute massage, all in the new spa and restaurant open for only a week. The staff where incredibly friendly and helpful, the decor, setting and experience are absolutely on point. This is going to make an excellent, exclusive and luxurious place to visit and stay. I highly recommend it.

Imposing estate on initial entry. Lovely unpretentious staff attending to your personal requirements. Fantastic breakfast, great facilities, would definitely recommend. Dinner did not let us down either. We latterly made full use of our private room enjoying various parlour games.

Beautiful area of England. Venue is under refurbishment and update in some areas but should be finished soon. Clean. Calming. Relaxing. Beautiful. Great breakfast.

A beautiful building in extensive grounds. The rooms are all sumptuous and even the small ones are large. All rooms are individually named and themed without being over done. We stayed in the Whitby room which has a large wet room. There are luxurious towels in the bathroom with robes and slippers. All the staff we met were very friendly, helpful and polite. We have stayed here before and we have already booked again for later this year. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

An absolutely wonderful hotel in beautiful natural grounds with wooded walks, walled gardens and lakes. Staff are caring and helpful without being pretentious. Afternoon tea is one of the best you'll get anywhere. The rooms are immaculate but relaxed. A must place to visit not only for the hotel and it's facilities but the many nearby attractions. We'll be back as soon as possible!

Great hotel in a very scenic location. Food was superb. Only downside was mobile signal not great, for some mind you that is a bonus.

A unique hotel that has plenty of atmosphere set in a lovely historic building. Staff are friendly and halpfull. Rooms and hotel very clean. Breakfast is nice. But not so keen on the food at other times. The bar is medium size. With happy and polite staff. Overall I have no problems recommending this hotel.

Lovely sandwich and a great pint. Great atmosphere.

We ordered 5 meals Inc 2 childrens meals. The children's meals were OK but the adult meals were terrible. The sausage and mash was served still frozen and when we sent it back it was returned to us having been quite clearly microwaved for a very long time. The sausages were so microwave burned that we couldn't cut through them and the gravy was still absolutely stone cold. The chicken and bacon sandwich was made from reformed chicken in a lot of poor quality mayo. The chicken burger with bacon was dry and tough and the bread was stale. We were told by the staff that there had been many complaints since a recent change of management but nothing was being done to improve standards. The manager did come over and apologise and we didn't pay for the meal but we won't be visiting again. Such a shame as this used to be a place to go for an excellent quality meal.

Without a doubt one of the best places I've ever stayed. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Excellent food in the restaurant too.

Enjoyable Super location, very pleasant staff but seem disorganised at times, food & wines were excellent. Glorious walking around the estate, pity that the bird area looks so neglected.

Beautiful hotel in magnificent grounds. We stayed overnight for a wedding and it was fabulous! Huge rooms in a tranquil setting!

Service and Gift Vouchers Very disappointed that hotel was not prepared to honour a voucher that was for 6 months that had expired in Dec 15. The voucher was for £200 and we had offered to spend considerably more on a future stay, but the hotel manager could not possibly give us any discount at all on a future stay. Would suggest that you don't buy gift vouchers as a gift unless you know the recipient is able to spend them within a short time frame.

Fantastic hotel, lovely food, excellent staff in beautiful surroundings.

My family stayed in the semi water room for one night, I can't really fault anything, the room was lovely, with a large twin bath and we also had the adjoining room, which the kids loved, there own room, the staff were friendly, the food was really good even though we had a meal in the small bar area, the breakfast the following morning in the main dining room was fantastic, the hotel is amazing with its stately ornate ground floor rooms, and the building itself is outstanding with its acres of countryside surrounding it, ideal for walking and horse riding, as there is a stable close by, for horse riding. Mountain bikes can be hired for free, there is a bird of prey centre within the grounds, It is a real treat staying at swinton park, and would go back many times, but it is at a premium price at the end of the day, would be nice iff they gave discounts on 2-3 night stays.

A really lovely setting with very pleasant staff. Rooms were big and well kept. Food in the restaurant was good without being particularly show stopping. There's a very nice walk to be had around the estate past the deer and the lakes. As a hotel it feels like it's missing a really good manager, as many requests either didn't get dealt or were slow in coming. Staff are lovely, with a bit more organisation it could be quite something.

Booked an event months ago for my teenage son and nephew. The hotel rang last Tuesday to ask full payment prior to the event which I had no problem with. Thursday we received a call to cancel as ours was the only booking (surely this was the only booking on the Tuesday but they still wanted my money) The boys are now devastated as they were looking forward to a day with the birds and groundsman foraging for their lunch The hotel seem to think this is acceptable behaviour, looking on their website it now says fully booked and not cancelled. Thanks swinton park for letting us down.

Is good because you find place went you are moving house.

As wedding photographers we photograph regularly at Swinton Park, the grounds are superb and extensive, the rooms exquisite, the surroundings unequalled. On the 2nd and 3rd December we had need to stay at the venue due to adverse weather conditions, we needed to be sure of being at the venue to photograph a wedding there on the 3rd. We experienced first hand the room service, the quality of the rooms, the breakfast, everything is second to none. On a previous occassion we ate in Samuels, this is quality gourmet food at its best. We imply cannot recommend the venue highly enough.
