Gorgeous rooms, lovely food and excellent staff.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the Xmas period and it was very good on the whole. Both the manageress and Gay were a credit to the team and they looked after us very well. The rooms are very well presented and certain ones are dog friendly. We were in room 21 for 2 nights (a large mezzanine room in the courtyard), but got moved to room 3 overlooking the market place for the final night as the TV didn't work in the first room. Many thanks for sorting this out and offering a refund of one night due to the inconvenience caused.

Lovely place to eat and stay. Party of 7. We all loved the rooms outside Food and drink tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful with all our requests.

Great staff cant do enough for you to make your stay great will definately be goig back.

We had a lovely lunch on Wednesday this week, staff were welcoming Cerys Katie and Emma were very attentive, lovely fire, lovely food. We will go back. We were impressed that our dog was allowed to join us too.

The hotel is really beautiful — we were so impressed with our room. It was spacious, really clean and had amazing decor! We stayed for one night whilst celebrating a friends birthday at the hotel. The food at the Kings head is beautiful and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Thanks to Jo and her team. We are coming back to stay on Boxing day, we can't wait!

We have visited Kings Head on numerous occasions & have enjoyed every visit. The staff are so lovely & friendly & go out of their way to help u. The food is amazing & the choice is excellent. We have also stayed in the rooms, they are totally gorgeous & comfortable & you want for nothing. Truly an amazing place, cannot wait till it re-opens A big thank you to Jo & all her staff.

Our favourite pub when we are out in the dales, we will always make a detour to eat here. Brilliant visit today for the first time during covid. Really organised, clean and not lost any of your relaxed atmosphere.

Called in on spec today after a walk around the area. We were lucky enough to get a table as it was mostky bookings and told wait for food would be 40 minutes but we didn't mind waiting. As it turned out we only had to wait about 15 minutes. Ordered a turkey Sunday lunch and my husband had pork loin. It was absolutely delicious. One of best Sunday roasts I've had. They even brought an extra jug of gravy. All social distancing measures in place and lots of hand sanitizer dotted about. Staff did sterling job. Will definitely return if in the area again.

Popped in for a light lunch food was delicious staff very friendly would recommend the Mac n cheese yummy.

Good Sunday lunch… good choices for a pub chain. Reasonable … plus you can use tesco points. Staff friendly and attentive. Parked at the door. Not crowded Sunday lunchtime.

Good choice of pub: decent food, decent beer and really friendly staff. I need a gluten free diet and the staff were very helpful in finding out what options I had on the menu.

Brilliant stay, fantastic set up with cottage/coach rooms attached to the rear. Nice if like us you have a young child. Once bed time came around and they are asleep mum and dad can still enjoy a drink on the terrace to the rear within full view of the door and no more than a few metres away. Very good food, nice choice of ales, and right on the market square for parking. Which is an honesty box by the way. No rip off charges here. Very friendly landlord and lady with great staff. Already booked for next year.

Stayed here for 1 night, accomodation is ok. The pub is very welcoming and the food is very good. Great base if you want to explore the local area and attractions.

Nice characterful room and hotel. Bed was reasonably comfortable. TV in room was a tad small considering the size of the room and the distance from the bed. Restaurant was disappointing. Considering it was a Friday night I was in there. We were one of about 4 tables eating we felt rushed. Starters came out in no time flat, then barely after the starters had been cleared away we had the mains come out proving they were waiting under a hot lamp from the order being taken. Then we were constantly asked are we finished are we finished. If there was a line of 20 people outside I would understand but due to the emptyness you'd expect them to string it out giving a better impression of the restaurant being full. The food itself was pretty poor. The fish was definitely not made there. It wasn't bad but it wasn't fresh. However the beer was good, all the beer in the village is good so it isn't really a huge compliment.

Food was not as good as it has been previously. I had the chicken in smoked cheese sauce and of was overcooked and as tough as old boots.

Friendly staff, great bar with a great choice of ales, restaurant had a varied menu with reasonable prices. Our room had a view onto the square. Great location to explore Masham. Would use this hotel again.

Excellent hotel, superb value for money. Comfortable, clean, friendly, quiet, lots of parking, good quality beer and grub. Pretty building and rooms. Will visit again.

Couldn't recommend it enough. We were fortunate to land on a January deal but would stay again, and gladly pay more, to revisit. The rooms, more like chalets, are well looked after and comfy and even the pub itself is excellent, from the food and drink selection to the decor.

Unfortunately had a very negative experience at the kings head. Food was barely edible and what food was edible was lukewarm and not worth the price. No care or attention was taken and we would have enjoyed it much more eating at home. Even the bill was wrong. This was the second change we have given the kings head and we were disappointed in both occasions.

Room was lovely, felt very comfortable. Had breakfast in the morning which very nice too, had a choice of either cooked or non cooked, was happy with our stay.

So disappointed, rang ahead & was told they were serving food all boxing day. Arrived & ordered drinks which were very expensive. When we went to order food the bar lady said the chef needed a rest & he wasn't going to serve food for the next three hours. When I said you could have mentioned that before we bought our drinks her response was well I didn't know did I.

It has a "motel" feel to it but it's priced accordingly. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and adequately equipped. We found the restaurant convenient and the food satisfactory. Breakfast wasn't the best if I'm honest but we were happy with our stay on the balance of price and short notice availability.

Always enjoyed our stay here. Good friendly hotel and dog friendly.

We stayed her for a work Christmas do at the swinton hotel. Is perfect for exploring Masham or staying somewhere more affordable than the swinton.

It was a nicely decorated hotel with cosy vibes and a good view across the square. The breakfast selection was average.

Good Beer, good food, a warming fire and friendly staff. What more could you ask for?

Been here a good few times now, it's a Chef and Brewer so just a chain but a step up from many others. Great Sunday lunch today and always an excellent choice of real ales here.

Love this pub. Fantastic local ales. Friendly service. Meals were really good at a reasonable price.

The room wasn't cleaned very well and the sofa bed my child had to sleep on was bent so when we wanted to put it back into a sofa we couldnt. The food was brilliant and the staff was lovely but rooms need updating.

Always pleasant service and reasonably priced food. They do run out of things post — weekend though. My third visit with no steaks or chicken dishes on a Monday!

Food in the restaurant was good and a good selection of beers. Room was some what basic although it had a bath. Could do with freshening up a little.

Oh where to start! Stopped if with my partner and mother in law for lunch at about 1pm last Monday. Only 1 other table in eating (should of seen the sign of things to come), ordered food and proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Bearing in mind we only ordered a cheese and red onion chutney sandwich, a seafood sandwich and a mixed vegetable burrito at quite steep prices. Firstly we were notified that there was no salmon available for the seafood sandwich so requested extra prawns instead (this was the only other seafood ingredient). Then the waitress came over to verify that we had ordered the vegetable burrito and not the pulled pork burrito (we shall return to this one later). Finally when our meals arrived I discovered to my disappointment that not only was the bread on my cheese sandwich stale and crumbling, but the onion chutney looked suspiciously like a well known brand with a sprinkling of cheese and some old coleslaw. My Mother in laws seafood sandwich (remember no salmon) consisted of half a dozen prawns between what I can only describe as half a loaf of bread. Meanwhile my partner was having all the fun picking shards of kitchen foil from the middle of his burrito where it had been cut.

The staff were very accommodating towards our requests to cater for our child the food was nice but I think the portion size could be a little bigger. The selection of ales from local breweries was good too. I did however over what appeared to be the boss/owner talk to the staff in derogatory manner which put me off a little.

Came in for food. It was busy but we got a table. Food came reasonably quickly and was very good. Will call again if I am in the area.

Had an excellent stay. The staff service was brilliant. They couldn't have done more to make our stay any more memorable. The room was little tired looking, but was very very comfortable. Meals great as you would expect from Chef & Brewer. Would definitely highly recommend the King's Head. Can't wait for a return visit.
