Great old travellers pub that's been modernised in a very thoughtful, sophisticated style. Rooms very nice, stylish but not over the top and a comfy bed. Food is excellent!

Just called in here for a quick drink before going on to Harrogate. Looking at the menu we decided to return for an evening meal and weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. There's a good sized car park at the rear and a popular outdoor sitting / eating area. The staff were friendly and Jack, in particular, gave us good advice on places to visit. The Kestral has 10 bedrooms and we wished we had found this place for a short break instead of the hotel in Harrogate.

Just stopped in for a potty break on our way to our hotel in Harrogate and was blown away by the interior! An old "road house" redone as a lovely restaurant and bar! The outside looked over the green hills! We decided to stay for lunch and were so happy we did! We both had the daily special which was lamb shanks with "bubble & squeek" and carrots. This ranks right up there with one of the BEST meals we have had in Europe! Such a wonderful surprise to find in the fields of North England!

Easy to find. Great food, & ambience. Family friendly as well as pleasant for customers without children. Value for money.

Tastefully converted former farmhouse with stunning panoramic views. Beer garden, positively dog friendly and with accommodation. Varied menu, reasonable quality and friendly unpretentious staff. Worthwhile.

Warm welcome and pleasant atmosphere. Take me 3 children under 6 and nothing is too much trouble. Great food. Could not ask for more… oh maybe a little more gravy.

A good location right on one of the mein road to Harrogate with plenty of parking. A nice warm bar area but the drinks selection is a bit limited. Staff seemed few and far between.

Bit of a belated review but was here last month with friends, 2 rooms between us both of which were lovely, cozy and clean. We had an evening meal the night before alongside a 'few drinks', food was beautiful, staff friendly, good standard of service, pub is tastefully decorated and spotless. I had to leave early hours of the morning to be in edinburgh for a business meeting so I regret I didnt get a chance to try the breakfast but my friends stayed and said this was lovely too. All of us being in the trade ourselves, we could not fault this place and will 100% be staying over again, should we pass. Amazing team and Amazing Pub. Not to be missed.

Had a fantastic weekend here and can't fault it Rooms were clean, tidy, and absolutely lovely. Breakfast was nice, and included in the room price. Dinner was reasonably priced and tasted incredible, and thw selections of drinks was vast. Top marks, would return.

Lovely rooms and food was excellent. Staff so friendly, caring and helpful. Road outside bit noisy if you have a room on the front og the Lodge but they have got good double glazing.

The location is beautiful. The building is lovely and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was nice and clean, the sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable but for one night was fine. The continental breakfast was Good! We had an evening meal when we arrived and the food was delicious but the waiting time was a little bit long, however there didn't seem to be alot of staff on so this is understandable and their friendliness more than made up for it.

Fantastic staff, quaint and quirky decor. Amazing food and choice. Good selection of real ales and well stocked bar. Great waking up to hear the sheeo on a morning. Comfy bed! Will defiantly be back.

The lodge was absolutely beautiful; the bar was so cost, the rooms decorated lovely, the location was beautiful. All the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous views and walks to explore. What you get for the price is unbelievable, would expect a stay to cost a lot more. Only bad thing was the shower, and to be honest this was embarrassing. Absolutely no pressure, kept going from freezing cold to scorching hot whenever another tap was used in the hotel, and just overall very disappointing. We would still love to go​ back though, as everything else was amazing.

When we arrived and the Bar are gone, the staff was friendly (mostly) and gave us our drinks and food after three quarters of an hour. The Parking was good, however for a fee. As we in the room arrived we were really disappointed. It has sucked, was musty, silk ropes hanging from the ceiling and the room was just noisy. You could do the eye hardly do because any noise from outside sounded as if it was *in* the room. The bathroom was disgusting and we just felt uncomfortable. Dirt hung between the tiles, the sink had hair and the towels stunken also. The wooden beams on the ceiling, threatening to down to fall! This Hotel will and I can't recommend! It may once have been nice, now it is just dirty. As we in the Frückstücksraum came were the seats dirty and the Cutlery was from the night before. Dirt was on the glasses and silk ropes were hanging out there in the chairs! This is really a No-Go. You like a good dinner but nothing else!
