The staff I found were quite rude, there was a wedding on at the same time and felt like the priority was all of those guests rather than the other people staying. I noticed the guests before me to check in were asked if they was dining in the hotel that night, we wasn’t asked, we also didn’t get told about breakfast so had to find out our self. We also Wasn’t informed on reserving a car parking space so had to park else where and carry all of our bags (including birthday presents). The breakfast was highly disappointing, not enough staff to cope with the amount of people dining, hot breakfast was cold and the food that was out on the tables had definitely been sat there a long time and was not fresh! I found my experience rather disappointing which was a complete let down as it was my partners birthday and wanted it too be special but I unfortunately found more bad than good. I would not return to the hotel and would not recommend.

Stayed at st George hotel in Harrogate, £165 with breakfast. Room just big enough to walk around the bed. Window overlooking a car park and a very loud fan. When we asked reception what time they would go off, they said 9pm. 9pm came and went, then we were told it would be 10-10.30 before it went off. In fact it was on all night and disrupted our sleep. Windows had to be open all night as no air conditioning and a very warm evening, plus a thick winter duvet on the bed. Mattress very hard and uncomfortable, bed linen cheap and scratchy. Woke up with severe back pain. Worst sleep ever and no alternative room available or compensation for our dreadful nights sleep.

Stayed in the Bath Hotel and everything was already laid out and ready to use like the parking and room features. Had no problems very friendly staff and the food was excellent would highly recommend!

I have just spent 2 wonderful evenings at The George in Harrogate. The refurb of this hotel is of the highest quality, the decor is absolutely beautiful. The staff were all amazing and helpful, nothing being too much trouble for them. Check in was as smooth as it could be, the staff, from the reception, to bar staff and the restaurant staff were so professional and yet so friendly. I can not recommend a visit to this hotel highly enough. There is a library too which is so beautiful I did not want to leave. If you go please make sure to try one of the many cocktails, Josh and Cris in the bar are such friendly, helpful guys. I would come back in a heartbeat. The hotel is also in such a fantastic place for visiting central Harrogate.

We held our wedding at your Harrogate hotel in September and all I can say is WOW. From the hotel itself to the food to all of the staff, everything was perfect. Lynn and Victoria especially were just phenomenal at there job, I honestly couldn't have asked for 2 more amazing ladies to help plan my special day. They are the perfect duo! The hotel decor was absolutely beautiful and the food was gorgeous. We are so glad we chose to have our wedding here, it was just amazing.

Just come back from a nights stay at st George hotel Harrogate the hotel is absolutely stunning very clean, staff are very welcoming and helpful we stopped in a cosy room yes they are small but beautifully done and everything you need in there. We loved it that much we have booked again for in 2 weeks I can highly this hotel you won't be disappointed, if the hotel is reading this could I suggest getting some rhubarb gin in bar plz.

Reasonable hotel accommodation in Harrogate town centre. Be sure you get the room you paid for as the web site offers premium rooms with coffee machines and walk in showers but these are not always the ones allocated to you. Good breakfast but parking can sometimes be an issue.

This our 3rd visit in a year as we are getting married here The staff are very polite and always wanting to help We have been dealing with Lynn and Victoria They have been so helpful with our details Can't thank them enough Looking forward to getting married at this venue.

A beautifully decorated hotel but that’s as far as it goes. Very poor night stay within 1st week of them opening in Bath! Most of the staff seemed stressed and appeared not to bother to come to help. The only member of staff who was professional, friendly and efficient was the receptionist. Breakfast very mediocre and waiting a very long time… they seemed short of waiting staff. It’s the little things that really do make a difference! A member of staff on the door had no customer service skills whatsoever. The remote control in the room did not work so could not watch TV. Unbelievable?! Not what you expect.
Also, your main contact telephone number is a joke?! Does not matter if you call in the morning or afternoon, it is ridiculous trying to get through and frustrating when automated service says “you’re in a queue”but fails to give an approximate time of when an advisor shall speak to you. Surely you cannot expect the customer to keep telephoning and hanging on when it just rings and rings and nobody picks up? There needs to be a system whereby you can leave a message and Country Living call centre staff call you back because when you call, you’re under the impression that you have called the hotel directly but unfortunately this is not the case. Very disappointing, unprofessional and shoddy service!

This relates to your hotel in Harrogate. Review left on St George page but it would appear this is no longer used. Tastefully decorated and bar areas are very nice. Cosy rooms are small, hot (not air conditioned) and with windows opening (only slightly) on to main road, very noisy. Another point, when you look out of the window onto the balcony you don’t expect to see a small pile of brick rubble. Asked for fan that was provided, but whilst it will plug in next to bed their is nowhere to stand it as the rooms are so small, so pointless. If you want a good nights sleep, not recommended. It is in all honestly the worst nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel. Add to that the plug hole in the shower didn’t work and the bathroom flooded. Was given another room to shower in and the same thing happened again… maintenance blame it on the fact that they have used the old plumbing and the previous rooms had a bath, so it couldn’t cope with a shower… not really my problem.
Finally given keys to a third room to get a shower. Breakfast was ok with plenty of choice. Left keys at reception… would have expected to be asked if our stay was ok (considering that this person was not present when experiencing earlier problems), but nothing, not even a have a good day! Not an enjoyable experience all in and wouldn’t come back.
My summary would be style over substance.

Beautifully upgraded and refurbished. Very tastefully decorated with some lovely features and is most comfortable. Food very good staff couldn't be more helpful. Also a hotel bar with atmosphere as opposed to the doctors waiting room feel of most hotel bars world wide.

Disappointed in the size of our room very small and cramped. Room 313. Bathroom too small. When we queried this were told that all rooms were small. The photos on the website show every standard of room to be much bigger than ours was. We paid a hefty £389 for two for two nights half board. We were surprised that certain dishes on the menu carried a supplement as did vegetables if you wanted them with your meal. The breakfasts were very good and the starters and deserts were but the main courses were disappointing. Also coffee after the evening dinner was charged. A coffee after dinner should be included. I appreciate that prices for rooms fluctuate but for the price we paid we expected a better room and an evening meal without extra costs and supplements. On a good note the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother for them. We can only conclude that while the staff are doing their best the management are penny pinching. What a shame!

I have just e mailed Lansdown Grove hotel directly as my daughter and I have also just returned from a break there. Although, we loved the decor and found the reception staff to be very helpful, we were disappointed by many aspects and felt it did not meet our expectations of the Country Living brand. Simply, it was not special enough — breakfast was poor (very little of it and baskets not refilled, waitress not listening to order and bringing eggs which I told her I was allergic to), poor quality bed linen, very poor quality towels, garden terrace just slabs and grass — no pots, plants, flowers as you promote in your magazines, to name a few things. We felt the experience was not worth the price we paid and although we realised that it has only just opened, it was a shame that many details were not taken care of. There was sadly a queue of people complaining as we checked out — a very difficult situation for the staff!

I have just stayed at the Country Living Hotel in Bath for a mini UK break with my Partner costing near enough £200 for 2 nights (Breakfast Included). First impression is the hotel is very well presented and newly decorated by the looks of it. The room itself was smaller than seen in the pictures, so much so, the wardrobe did not fully open because of the bed and it was quite dusty.
The Breakfast was just poor, ive had better from a holiday inn. The baskets with fresh bread or pastries were empty from early on and never refilled, hot food was to order but you had to find a waitress to serve you first. They spent most of the time in the kitchen or stood at the till with bits of paper. The breakast is small with 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 mushroom ect. Not worth the addition £14 per person per night at all.
My biggest complaint was the reception staff. Although an attentive initial check-in anything after was insulting.
Whenever myself and my partner returned to the hotel we were looked at funny and quizzed almost to our being there, because we are two young males and dont walk around wearing tweed or shirts and slacks. They honestly looked at us like we were entering to turn over the place. I had to assure them we were guests everytime and it made us feel embarrassed with othet guests staring on. I did loose my patience on the final night, telling the lady I was a guest not part of a mob. She still stared at us as we waited for the lift.

Wonderful hotel. Stayed in an upgraded room which was very nice. Food very good and plentiful and staff were very attentive, polite and helpful.

I booked for a large group of 48 at this hotel and was concerned about some of the previous negative reviews I had seen. However those concerns were unfounded as it was excellent value for money. The rooms were refurbished so the earlier comments about 'tired' rooms were not applicable. One member of our group had read about noise from the street in the front rooms so I requested rooms at the back for the group. However my room was at the front but my husband and I were not disturbed by any noise as the room had effective double glazing. The staff were very friendly and do the hotel credit. I would have given the review 5 stars but for a few minor issues which really only apply to a large group. The people with restricted walking abilities were not located on the lower floor as requested but when I discovered this it was too late to change everyone. The food was inclusive in the price and could have been better but on the other hand for the price paid it was good value and you did get a reduction on each course from a different menu if you wanted to choose from that. Service was slow for some on the first night but that was due to unforseen circumstances with staffing and this was rectified on the subsequent nights with the staff being very attentive and hard-working.

Great venue for my sister's wedding! Great staff so helpful always going out of their way to accommodate our needs. Special thanks to Alessia on reception this woman is a star, never seemed to go home and was totally charming! Bar staff also deserve a mention for humouring my grandson at the bar lol.

Probably was amazing 20+ years ago. Room, service, breakfast, pool, etc all fine but Coridoors and decoration getting run down needs a good lick of paint and tidy up. Sauna and steam room were a nice feature. Very tight car park in my pickup and I Feel that parking should be included in the room price if it's available.

Would stay here again staff very helpful and friendly. Gym and spa was clean and staff on hand if you need any help. My husband booked me in for a full body massage and I felt so relaxed after.

Big hotel with lots of space to meet friends and family. Bar is well stocked and breakfast is very nice. Rooms are nice with good shower and comfy bed. Use of the leisure facilities is also a bonus when staying the night. Paid parking for site but we found somewhere just down the road that was free. Would recommend to others and go back again.

Very reasonably priced for a town centre hotel. Good bed brreakfast and evening meal package. Pool, sauna and steam room ok if dated. Used the beauty therapist there and she was very good and fairly priced.

Thanks for the service and wonderful facilities and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others and will certainly be interested in staying there again well done.

In all fairness we only had a fleeting over night stay so didn't use the leisure facilities or pool so can't comment there. Although a lovely building I found the decor and furnishings very tired. Our room was very drab with a wonderful view of a wall. There was some poor repair work to tiles in the bathroom. When we returned from our evening out we planned to watch the late news but the TV pixelated constantly. I was charged £8 to park at the hotel although the welcome pack stated £5. Breakfast was ok. But ok at best. If I had friends visiting Harrogate would I recommend it? No.

We have spent a lovely 3 nights half board at the St George. Buffet breakfast and excellent dinner with vegetarian selections. Staff friendly & room clean. Lots of comfortable chairs in main reception area and bar. We will definitely stay there again.

The st george hotel was a bit dated but food was very good, nice bar area and room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in the centre of town with easy access to bars and restaurants. We would happily stay there again.

Member of the gym. Good facilities if a little rough around the edges. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself is inviting and well kept.

Convenient location. Happy with recently refurbished room. Very clean and comfortable with Tassimo machine and big TV. Restaurant food could be better but overall experience very good. Would stay here again.

Wonderful staff, the food and drinks are great, room was clean and really comfy. The only criticism I have is it was so hot all the time. Wasn't terrible during meals or when having drinks but even with the window open at night I struggled to sleep some nights.

Hotels run down and not the cleanest, rooms are small and dated, noisy inside and outside the hotel, beds are uncomfortable, lift took ages to work, it took the staff hours to do anything asked. Completely disappointed in the whole place. Wouldn't stay again or recommend it to anyone.

The st George hotel were amazing! They were able to offer us what no other hotel in a 5 mile radius could for our wedding with our budget. They were extremely accommodating and treat our guests with a lot of respect and were so friendly. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you for an amazing day!

Attended as a wedding guest. Lovely event, staff were very friendly and helpful. Would have been 5 stars but I and another guest ended up with terrible sickness and stomach ache which I can only assume was due to the food we had eaten!

Location is perfect, right in center. Rooms are clean but very old. Biggest let down is the parking situation where you have to book parking space separate which I was not informed on check-in and had to move my car night 2 onto public road because space I was in was booked by someone else. Also the amount of space is very limited, way smaller than amount of rooms so I most likely wouldn't be able to book anyway.

Couldn't fault this Hotel for Value, convenience and friendly service. I booked a single room. It was spacious, modern and comfortable with all the facilities I needed for my stay and very handy being across the road from the Conference centre. The hotel offers resident parking but this is popular, especially during exhibitions, so, book ahead. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Downstairs bar is reasonably priced, compared to some. I'll be glad to return again.

Had a lovely weekend at the St George to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Staff were always polite and helpful, room was spotless. A brilliant location for everything that Harrogate has to offer. Thanks for a great weekend guys.

Hotel staffs are very helpful and Polite. Location is perfect. At the beginning they can not find my booking, but they are very patient and polite and helpful. I even got an upgrade later. Highly recommend.

Pleasant staff and very clean hotel also near the centre of Harrogate we would definitely come back again.

Really good hotel and the food is excellent.
