We really enjoyed stay. The hotel is in a great location the staff were all very friendly and helpful the room was a good size and clean and breakfast was excellent. What more could you ask for.

Lovely food and great service from some lovely people x.

When we visit this is the only place we eat at. I am a gluten free pescatarian and it's the only place I have found where I can have gluten free bread, baguettes etc. I had a spa. On baguette and my husband had a meat free pizza and it was all lovely. The only thing I can be a bit niggly at was with the kids meals give them a larger drink size as the cups we had were finished before food arrived and then you have to pay more which is 50p for an orange squash which if you get the kids meals deal I think they should be refillable as it is only water with a splash of squash. Oh and fix the wobbly table the one with corner seating near the bar. But it's always clean, well staffed and you can't complain about the food. We will miss a few things off the old menu but I think it's one of the best in the area.

Service was unfortunately very slow, 10 mins to be able to order two drinks and a bowl of fries! However the pub it's self is lovely.

£10 for a delicious 2 course meal, lovely beer garden and quick service.

Clean and tidy pub that offers a wide selection of beers and spirits. Food is available and a good place to take either. The toilets are also clean! It also has a beer garden. Parking is the only problem.

Go for the pizza if nothing else. Absolutely stunning pizza fresh from a stone baking oven, average £10. Nice place to sit in peace in the corner restaurant area if that's your thing. I've been plenty of times and it's pizza, always pizza.

More than happy with the accommodation at the kings head. After travelling 30 miles we were very impressed with the stylish and spacious room, very comfy bed too! The staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was cooked to perfection.

This time round want so good. The staff were as curious and helpful as ever. Thanks. Unfortunately the food want up to its usual great standard. Went for a steak this evening. The cut off meat was not good at all. Very grisly and not a lot of meat on it. The accompanying mushroom was burnt to a crisp. The meal was exchanged promptly. We were also financial compensated by the helpful staff. Disappointed but it will not stop me visiting again at a later date.

Trip out to Beverley for my birthday lunch. Hubby ordered Gloucester sausage and I the chicken Sunday roast. More pricey than we would normally pay especially as you can get all you can eat carveries in other establishments for £3-4 cheaper. So the biggest let down was a very lukewarm/cold Sunday roast. This is the first time I have ever had to complain about a meal but I wasn't paying £14 for a cold meal. I was given a fresh meal and this time the cauliflower cheese that I was meant to get 1st time round. There was no offer of anything complimentary though the apology was nice. Needless to say won't visiting again soon.

Seriously great service! I came in and ordered two cocktails but my NZ accent meant I ordered a margarita (pizza) by accident, the staff were so quick to fix things and very polite. Very professional and made us feel like it wasn’t my fault without extra charge to get us the cocktail even. Seriously good. We will be back for pizza and cocktails next time :)

Very busy but great fun. Went in on Saturday night, had no problem getting served despite how busy it was. Could do with some air conditioning mind! But really enjoyed my visit. I have eaten in here before on a separate occasion and the food was lovely.

Really enjoyed our night had our room upgraded for no reason The room was great some noise but nothing that would put me off staying again food nice money off our meal because we were guests staff very friendly and happy to help will come again.

Situated on the main Market Square this is a Marstons pub with a decent menu. In summer there is a beer garden too. Small range of beers, food good but not outstanding.

We were seated on a table that was extremely wobbly and had quite uncomfortable chairs and so requested to move. We were moved to another 2 seater table that also had quite uncomfortable chairs eventhough we walked right past another 2 seater table that had seating that looked a lot more well padded. The food was alright. The garlic dough balls were quite greasy and a bit tasteless but the sweet potato fries were lovely. I had Cajun chicken with skinny fries with coleslaw which wasn't particularly to my liking as the chicken was quite dry. My wife had vegetable daahl which she enjoyed. The staff were friendly. What we didn't like was the music being turned right up in the dining area for some reason… yes it was a Saturday night but surely people seated in the dining area wanted to have conversation whilst eating, not having to shout over music?

The pizza oven was broken. Ordered a double cheeseburger and a diet pepsi. There was more ice than pepsi in the glass. The "double" cheese burger only comes with one piece of meat! According to the waiter it's called "double" because there's two types of onion and cheese on it. Which is a bit of a swizz for £11.95. The meat itself was quite tough, so they arguably did me a favour. Staff were friendly, mind. But I won't be be tripping over myself to go here again for food.

This is a great central pub with very friendly staff. There's plenty of room with good food and drink.

Great atmosphere in a comfortable setting. A pub I have frequented for years and have seen the transformation from old to new. With friendly staff and plenty of seating options you are sure to find what you want, either a quiet corner to sit and chat or amongst the bustle round the bar. The prices are probably just above average for drinks but the food is worth paying for so it really is a case of you get what you pay for.

A busy pub but a buzzing atmosphere. Packed out and popular with locals and visitors alike. The decor is well presented. The drinks are a reasonable price.

Great place for a coffee and a bite to eat.

Chilled out environment during the day and a few places for big groups yo gather out of the way which was nice! Food and drinks all okay definitely recommend the pizza. Staff could be a little happier but hey, I know which side of the bar I would be on!

Very reasonably priced. Staff are very well mannered and the new look sitting areas are perfect for a quiet catch up or larger social gathering.

Nicely decorated pub. Good pub food and pizzas. Let down by its beers. Seems to be mostly lagers for the Saturday night crowd. More craft beers / real ale please.

Always great service and food is excellent value for money.

Service is quick considering how busy it usually is. Drinks were cheaper than expected however when there we were all charged different amounts for the same bottle of wine. Toilets aren't great.

I ate dinner at the King's Head with a cousin. We enjoyed the food and attentive service. The restaurant area is relatively quiet and separate from the bar area.

Used to be fantastic but a disappointing meal. Over cooked chicken and the gravy with my sausages and mash could have been made into a ball! Staff pretty good in fairness knocking £15 off. Wine good at reasonable pricing.

Stopped for a lite snack and a pint after a little shopping. Staff were friendly and the food was good. We had the sharing plater which was nice but the pigs in blankets were a little too sweet. We sat in the beer garden which is a sun trap in the summer. Would visit again.

The food was lovely although took quite a while to arrive, even though it was a wedding reception and pre booked. The service was very good and the staff were attentive and efficient.
