One of the worst places someone could risk staying. I am saying this because management take no responsibility for anything and you are literally left on your own and if you have a problem you will not recive any help. I'm saying this after spending a night in 12 degrees temperature, after haveing to sleep with my jacket on after not being able to even have a shower and haveing to check out at 6 am just so I could warm up. And after all this and 6 email over a period of two weeks thir only response is "the manager is not in, he will contact you when he gets in". If you plan on staying I strongly recommend u think again and most definitely not if you have children with you.

Beautiful, huge suites in rambling period property. Lovely, modern bathroom and very helpful nice staff. Nice little personal touches and added luxuries, with pretty view through bay windows of the cobbled high street.

Very good nice room, restaurant and bar look good too though not tried it as yet.

Fabulous kareoke night on Fridays… great host and fun atmosphere.

Had a lovely stay in this historic old coach house hotel in the center of Guildford. Comfortable is the word to describe my stay here. Was upgraded to one of the suits which was a lovely surprise. The bed was very comfortable as the room was more than expected. The staff have been very helpful and friendly. Would come back for another visit without question.

Bill’s Restaurant, just downstairs, has everything you need for breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks.
We will definitely be back!

Stayed in one night TV not working to lampshades not working wallpaper falling off the walls and dirty sheets will be not staying again.

GrossHad to leave the hotel 40mins after we checked in. Room was infested with moths with eggs visable in the holes in the carpet. Whole place needs to be fumigated. Avoid.

Poor quality accommodation don't stay there. Restaurant which is not part of the hotel is great.

I always try to stay here when I am in Guildford. Great location, friendly staff. It is supposedly haunted, but I have yet to encounter any ghosts.

The hotel itself is in a great location and the building is beautiful. The maintenance of this hotel is terrible. We had two light bulbs not working, a broken shower adaption, virtually no water pressure (I had better in a one star camp site), not enough hot water (could not have a bath), the door handle was hanging on one screw making it impossible to twist open, the kettle was full of lime scale and the travel cot had not mattress. I was told that 'other clients abuse the hot water', to the complaint that we were unable to have a bath. The staff are friendly, but clueless. Such a wasted opportunity, this could be turned into a really nice hotel.

We went to the Angel Hotel for a photo shoot and discovered a gorgeous historical hotel beautifully decorated, and with wooden bannisters and doors to the rooms named with famous figures (who had apparently stayed in the hotel, such as Oliver Cromwell! ). The staff who we saw were friendly and the actual room was lovely with bay windows and modern amenities.

This is a very old and beautiful hotel, whose location in the city center is almost perfect. However, I don't know how this hotel got four stars. Maybe you just forgot to lose the stars. First, the hotel is managed by someone. And that's from the person at the reception. The one or the porter, house manager and probably still a cleaner in one person. That's what I call effective human resources management. Secondly, the whole hotel is a little run down and has probably had the best time for a long time. Thirdly, the furnishings and also the condition of the stairs, walls etc. Has not seen any care for centuries. Fourthly, operating the room lighting was like a doctoral thesis. Only the correct switching of the six switches in the room in the correct order allowed me to turn off the ceiling lighting. But I only found out this complicated switching order after about 20 minutes and that helped me with a matrix and the exclusion procedure. My endecker spirit was really called for. If it hadn't been so funny, I probably would have left. You can get the matrix from me for a lot of money. Joke. Even the reception had to smile. It should also be mentioned that I did all the effort for only one intact bulb in the lamp. The other two pears were probably broken for years. Let's get to the Wi-Fi. The Wlan stoicly threw me out of the net every ten minutes, so I gave it up after an hour. As a result, I went to the nearest pub and got off my mouth.

Charming and convenient. Centrally located on the high street with great restaurant downstairs and others in walking distance. No breakfast before 7am so need to plan around that.

The hotel is in a fantastic Tudor building which has lots of character. The location is also great, being in the centre of Guildford town centre. The room was very spacious. The bathroom was fine, although the shower was particularly weak. Overall, a great hotel.

The Angel Hotel is really fascinating. I love the real English style that you can taste everywhere. Located in main central street of Guildford is a lovely place for everyone.

A bit of a joke of a hotel! The hotel is very quaint and does have character but so many things don't work and especially reception staff. We were a big party and they had lost some of the bookings! When something was not working (which was quite a few things including the hot water) you always felt they were putting the blame on the client. It was so annoying. Their standard excuse was "oh well it is an old hotel so you have to cope with it" … well they charge you enough not to have to cope with it. There are also quite a few bins outside when of the rooms so when the bin men come at 6am it wakes up the whole hotel. It could be so much better so easily (i. E. If the staff smiled and respected clients).

Absolutely delighted with our stay at this hotel. It's got this very authentic English feeling, with very spacious rooms and bathrooms, very friendly and helpful staff, and superb restaurant, Bill's. It's very central and I will stay there again when I'll be back in Guildford.

We enjoyed the ambiance and the food and had a marvelous roomy suite over the street. We were so pleased with the experience. Wish we had had more time to see the town. It was beautiful down along the river.

This hotel is a gem! A perfect business hotel and romantic getaway right in the town centre. It has quintessentially English rooms that are romantic and tastefully furnished. Downstairs in the bistro has a lively vibe or if you want total quite the rooms are perfect as they are spread over several floors so you hardly see or hear other guests. Staff are offer a traditional high level and personal service and nothing is too much trouble I cant recommend this hotel enough.

Beautiful old inn with wonderfully crooked, comfortable rooms. The restaurant is new and serves classic food well: steaks, duck etc.
