Rooms very comfortable, great bathtooms/wetrooms with under floor heating. Great lighting and very relaxing and quiet. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable of local area and more and cooks a mean breakfast and coffee. Incredibly pleasant visit.

Just spent a night at Blas Gwyr, stunning superior room, impecibly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was supurb and Dafydd and Jan were friendly and welcoming. Can't fault in any way, we will be back P&S x.

I seriously don't know what's wrong with some of the negative reviewers here… spider you say? It's the wild west fgs ;-) Fantastic stay on a very wet weekend. It's a good job our room was so comfortable and pleasant, because an early trip to the pub (hell, it was raining HARD) left us utterly exhausted and we just crashed out. Great wetroom with AWESOME shower. Wonderful breakfast and lovely host. Thank you Dafydd and Mrs Dafydd (I think)!

The host wasn't as friendly as I'd expected, the breakfast room was sparse. It's not a typical b and b where you're in the heart of the home. The patio area/courtyard area is right by the parked cars. Breakfast was yummy. Room was lovely but cobwebs everywhere and scuff marks on walls.

We had a good but brief stay at Blas Gwyr. Unfortunately the owner wasn't there when we arrived, so we weren't sure when breakfast was (Information in the room would be great). Breakfast however was lovely, it was a full welsh breakfast with real meat. The room was lovely and clean (photos added), a modern rom with a country twist. The carpark was quite twt so I would advise smaller vehicles. We went in a VW Transporter which we just managed to squeeze in. In all a lovely stay.

We had a fantastic stay at this B&B. The room was excellent. It was clean, ordered and a very welcome retreat at the end of a hard day's beach combing. The owner, Dafydd is exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. We enjoyed a great breakfast made by Dafydd the morning after our overnight stay. Without a doubt we will be booking again to go and stay there soon.

(weekend getaway — travelled from Bristol) My girlfriend and I had a very pleasant one night stay in the middle of June (2011) for a bit of a birthday getaway. The room was cosy tasteful and homely. The host Daffyd, was helpful, friendly and made a generous and tasty breakfast. Location was good, felt nicely out of the way but with easy access to get to nice pubs and beaches. Mumbles is well worth a visit too. Would recommend this as a place to stay.

This is my idea of a perfect B abd B. First of all the room was ideal; clean, bright, well sized with interesting features. I like to feel I am oart of the community when I stay in a B and B and Blas Gwyr delivered in spades! For example the owner sources the ingerdients for the meals from the local area. He makes his own Glamorgan sausages which, although they contain no meat, I would choose over any other sausage I have ever eaten. I loved the excitment of the owner, who served up delicous home baking just because he was (rightly! ) proud of his ability in the kitchen. I was there to surf and there were facilities to wash up wetsuits outside (a warm tap which is very unusual! ) and dryiing facilities. Made my stay a real pleasure.

I was really excited about staying at Blas Gwyr — sadly it did not turn out as I hoped. We had planned the visit as the last day of a long weekend as a way to finish on a high — though in reality it turned out to be disappointing. What we expected to be a 5 star rating luxury B&B turned out to be overrated and pretentious. The owners seem to have lost interest in customer service with many of the little details going unchecked. We received a message by phone that no one would be there to greet us — this was in order to get supplies. Though you would imagine that this could have been preplanned a little — it is a business after all and not a surprise family visit. Even though we did bump into one of the owners we weren't made to feel genuinely welcome — we just received a rushed run through of a couple of local spots and pubs with no maps or other documentation to help. Admittedly, the location is good and the bed comfortable, but this is as far as the positives go. The room was untidy with many cobwebs and spiders roaming freely. There was no shower gel (just an empty container) and the remote control to the TV would not work unless held at a straight angle at the most 5 inches away from the TV. It was actually easier to use the controls on the TV. While there was complimentary tea in the room on further investigation the tea bags were mouldy. Luckily we noticed otherwise it could have been a real health hazard. I am sure mouldy tea should not live/grow in 5* accommodation.
