Typical British hotel with spacious rooms. The gym is basic but functional. The Wi-Fi if ok. Service is fine. Breakfast is good even the continental one. You get even a tea cattle in the room with cookies. Parking is free in front of the building.

Had our wedding blessed at the Parkway hotel & spa. I cannot speak highly enough of the team over there. A++ for venue, facilities, food, staff and service… BTW, if you get the chance… Book one of the amazing suites.

Beautiful spa. Had a massage treatment as well as full use of spa facilities. Lovely Atmosphere, lovely staff. Cafe right next to the pool. Left feeling refreshed and relaxed… job well done!

6 of us went to the Dirty Dancing night and I have to say will be going a again. Such a warm welcome, the service was was amazing, and the food was serviced piping hot and was beautiful. The Dirty Dancing show just topped the night for us. Well done to all staff you should be proud, you are what makes the hotel what it is.

Sunday lunch. I emailed in advance to request a vegan option which they accommodated perfectly. It meant I could eat alongside the others on my table who were having the regular carvery without any fuss. The food was all good quality and actually a good price. Service was excellent, all staff were well presented, very polite and helpful. Unlike some other carveries, the starters and desserts are brought to your table. For the main course, the servers accompany you to where the food is served (on one side of the room, not far from any of the tables) for you to pick what you want and then bring your plate over to your table. That's a nice touch so you can pick what you want, but at the same time don't have to serve yourself or carry your own plate. Nothing was too much trouble, extra water brought to table, coffee served in the lounge with unexpected packets of biscuits. The staff were available and never too far away if you needed something. The only suggestion I could possibly make is that the knives for the main course seemed like butter knives (sort of blunt) so it made cutting the crispy roast potatoes a bit difficult. This is a really, really minor suggestion as everything else was great. It wasn't that the food was too hard or anything, it was the knives. I'm sure if we'd have asked for different knives they would have provided some, but we didn't so that's on us.

Afternoon tea better than Celtic manor. Half the price too! More good and excellent service. I'm going back again.

I have not stayed at the hotel but had dinner in the restaurant. Very good food for a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere. The hotel has spa and conference facilities.

Beautiful gardens and a perfect place for wedding receptions and conference meeting rooms. Always a monthly entertaining programs for guests as well as local patrons. Very cozy atmosphere. Rooms are clean and also very comfortable.

Had the enjoyment of staying at this fantastic hotel the staff could not do enough for you. Had a slight complication but was very quickly sorted and the overall stay was incredible. Would recommend to everyone.

Really good staff. Building was closed due to severe snow. But they kept a room open and warm for the funeral wake that I attended.

This Hotel offers a typically warm and genuine welsh welcome. The rooms are clean and comfortable and alongside the delicious breakfasts, incredibly value for money. The Spa facilities are good and the pool side facilities relaxing. The food was generous and good quality. A relaxing, quiet and calm stay.

I've stayed twice and the staff are outstanding. Always cheerful and helpful. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are modern and quiet. I visited in winter and they even managed to have a real log fire lit at 7am. Good on-site restaurant for the evening and well priced.

Spacious and well appointed, really good facilities, friendly staff and good meeting rooms. Loses a point for some petty rules (you had to have your room card AND the card sleeve to order drinks at the bar, for some reason) and for a slightly dated feel to the decor. The food in the restaurant was a slightly odd mix of stylish modern vegetarian and a boring meat carvery.

The staff were really helpful, and the hotel was clean and welcoming. The spa was a pleasure to visit. The only reason for not giving five stars is the lack of vegetarian option at breakfast. Every hotel I have visited recently, provides veggie sausage, veggie bacon and hash browns, not just a cut down version of a meat eater's breakfast. We also attended a social function here this weekend, and the veggie option and coeliac option at the carvery was limited to say the least. If management can sort this, my family and I will return.

Below quality food provided on one of the Christmas party night. I am a foodie and love trying quality food. The food I presented with was far from edible. Will not be returning back soon. ☹

Had my Christmas function here last night and I must say it is a lovely building. We had a Tom Jones tribute act who was superb, I would have given a five star review however the food I received was not quite up to the standard that I expected.

Six of us had a spa day and afternoon tea today! Absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful place. Everything was PERFECT. Big roaring fire as you enter. So comfortable cosy. All facilities were absolutely great we had a wonderful day with fab afternoon tea. Brilliant x.

Use this hotel quite a bit now as it is so convenient visiting relations. Staff all around the hotel very pleasant and helpful. Dining Room a pleasure to eat in. Snack Bar lunchtime also very good. Lastly so easy to get luggage from very large car park to your room. Help always at hand if needed. Oh forgot — depending on what you have booked — Standard to Suite rooms — all a good size and always clean.

Hassle free and simple hotel. Amenities could be upgraded but all in all a solid hotel. On occasions the staff need to be a little more human with some of the more reasonable requests (when asking for cheese on garlic bread)

Hotel and rooms are a little old fashioned but good. Leisure facilities are excellent. Simple menu at the bar, food and service were decent.

This hotel reminded me of an 80's ski lodge, but in Wales. Lovely hearty food, clean room, good friendly service. We didn't visit the spa, but at the price we paid, I'd say this represented great value for money. The hotel itself was quirky enough in it's retro decor that it could be considered cool.

Really good deal. Staff very welcoming. Hotel was nicely laid out. Great for a 1 night dinner, bed & breakfast.

Efficiently run coffee bar, providing hot and cold meals. Meal was ok but not very hot. Was from a hot buffet cart. Pick your table carefully if going for a quiet get together with friends as we had a table of people next to us using laptops and conducting loud phone calls. Is a nice place to meet but I think I will just stick to afternoon tea next time.

Attended a wedding party in one of the halls which was wonderful. Bar staff were very nice and the food for the buffet was spot on.

My favourite local hotel. The staff here are so friendly and always go above and beyond to help in anyway they can. It's always very clean and well kept. The winter is my favourite time when the fire is burning. I can also vouch for their afternoons teas — amazing!

Beautiful rooms and great food! The staff are amazing and would do anything to make your stay better :) Also used the gym facilities and was very impressed! Would 100% recommend. Such a beautiful setting too!

I love the parkway. I have had many events here including my own wedding reception and it is perfect. The spa is small but very quiet and relaxing. Food is very nice. All round a very good hotel.

This hotel is nice but there were some issues. The rooms were absolutely roasting with no way to cool it down, we had to make a trip to asda to buy ourselves a fan as the fan supplied with the room was broken and the receptionist said there were no others. We were contemplating actually leaving because it was soo hot! The rooms supplied with equipment that was 4 years past the expiry date on the PAT sticker while the fan we had been supplied with initially.

5 star staff. Excellent food, both evening meal and breakfast. Will definitely go back.

Ignore the negative review. This is a great place to stay. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, good facilities and a very good standard of room. Not dark and dingy, doesn't "smell of old people", wasn't too hot (you could open the Windows if it was), and no need for a tour of the gym to figure out how to use it! Seriously I had a great time and I wouldn't let that one bad review put you off! I'm glad they insist on children being supervised.

I attended The Parkway Hotel with my boyfriend today with really good expectations. However, I was completely appalled by the whole thing. The service was disgraceful as the woman that served me had no manners. I was expecting a little help from her as it was my first visit for afternoon lunch and I wanted to know how the menu worked etc. However, this women was blunt and showed no interest. I almost felt like I wanted to leave and not bother eating there at all at this point. For our lunch we both chose to have cold meat (you had 1 slice of 2 choices of meat) she then asked if We wanted potatoes and then you could help yourself to the salad cart. She handed our plates over by the till and said that was 15 pound to pay. I looked down at my plate and I couldn't believe I was paying that price for 2 slices of meat and 2 boiled potatoes! Yes… TWO BOILED POTATOES each! It's almost patronising. The meal altogether was below average as was service. Will not be attending again. Greatly disappointed with my experience.

This was my 1st trip to Cwmbran on business and as I was only going to be needed for 1 meeting I decided to take my daughter and combine my stay with a 2 night short break. After taking some time to find a place to stay I settled on The Parkway Hotel and Spa in Cwmban. On arrival I was met by a older lady with glasses I explained to her that I had to go to a meeting the next morning and my 13 year old daughter would be in the Hotel while I was away to which she promptly replied this was against their rules so I took my daughter with me. The hotel itself is very tired looking I was given a key card and told where my room was we had to walk down a dim corridor and I noticed a stale smell in the air I said to my daughter what the smell reminded her of to which she replied old people. On entering the room I noticed a couple of the lights were not working however it was clean and tidy. I gave the bed a test run and was amazed at how soft the mattress was, now I am not the heaviest person but you really sink into this thing which is not to my taste at all. While we are on the room subject the heat in this room was unbearable I slept on top of the quilt with the window open all night as the air conditioning did not work I mentioned this to reception who replied we cant keep everyone happy lol. We went to the Spa where I used the gym this was ok for Cardio equipment however the weights were very average max weight 25 Kilo.

We had afternoon tea. The service was very basic and made the experience disappointing for a four star venue.

I can't explain how much we enjoyed our son's and his new wife's wedding on 6th Sept. Your staff we could not fault in anyway, everything was dealt with in a professional way. We also stayed overnight with some of the wedding party, our rooms were delightful and the bed was so comfortable we did'nt want to get out of it. Breakfast with the new Mr and Mrs Fisher was also enjoyed by all such a choice. We then took advantage of your pool and spa area which extended the wedding sparkle even longer we did'nt want it to end.

Stayed here the night before a wedding. Didn't really know what to expect but was completely taken by surprise. The facilities were plentiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was told on check-in that breakfast was included so was surprised when I was charged for it. It turned out that I was misinformed about the breakfast but, rather than argue with me, the clerk removed it from the bill and apologised. Great service. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff were amazing and went out of there way for me and my mother. The food was cooked to perfection and was a good price for the quality. The room had everything we needed and more. The bed was extremely comfortable. I loved the fitness facilities, gym and swimming pool. I was lucky enough to be booked in for a spray tan last minute and the lady on the front desk went out of her way to get me the appointment. The only thing was that I had to wait a while but I didn't mind because the staff were lovely. A great stay and well worth the travel down to Wales. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Next time we will definitely be booking in for a few days.

NEW YEARS EVE — we had a fantastic time we just could not fault it. The food was excellent, hot and plentiful, the staff even more attentive than last year. The entertainment much better than last year. The room was extremely comfortable, I loved the new big welsh mugs, cafetieres and robes. Breakfast was superb; the little niggles noticed last year had been eliminated — toast brought to the table instead of toasting your own and self service on hot food rather than staff plating it. Both eliminated the long queues experienced last year. Well done to all management and staff for making our stay so special. We will be back again this year. One of the Davies party.

Picked this hotel for a weekend break before Christmas and we were not dissapointed. Very friendly staff, great facilities, really comfortable room, wonderful atmosphere and to top it all the food was excellent too. Will definitely try a themed night next year.
