Just came for Valentines lunch. Temp taken, and sanitiser at all points. A beautiful meal but we’ve had to take away puddings because we’re so full. Thank you for a lovely dinner and for all the precautions you’re taking!

The food and service were excellent, and a lovely relaxed vibe… Perfect.

Other than a lovely place to eat and stay… they have gone above and beyond and serving takeaway deliveries during the lockdown to different areas around the mainland… excellent service…

Myself and my partner went for a wee date night last night and as per usual Busta House didn’t let us down. You didn’t have to wait long for your food and when you got it, it was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were extremely friendly and made you feel very welcome. Thank you so much to everyone at Busta House.

I would recommend this place, the staff are super an the food is amazing. The hotel itself is full of character.

I recommend the meals. It's the place to go for an excellent nosh-up after a long arduous Shetland hike. And I recommend Grant for comedy value — the last time we were there his idea of a joke was to bring two of us a massive silver tray with a full size serving of every sweet on the menu! Love it. However please start serving MUSHY PEAS with your fish n chips.

I love Busta house, however I went for my birthday lunch and they had a most obnoxious customer, asked if the staff could lower his volume to no avail. Left with a splitting headache!

Had a lovely family meal there recently. Food was really good and the waiters were friendly and attentive even offering to take a group photo.

My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Busta House. It's an old, quirky building which just adds to it's charm. Our room was spacious and clean and had a lovely view over the garden and the bay. The food was absolutely delicious — my hubby especially enjoyed the steak = and the service was second to none. All the staff we met were warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend a stay here and very much looking forward to returning.

Always superb food, superb staff and of course not forgetting the owners Grant and Joel. We stayed 2 nights for a 3 day walking break on mainland as a change from the holiday cottage on Yell. It's a homely place with a nice family atmosphere. Robin foolishly mentioned that once we decided at a restaurant to forgo main course and just order a 'tapas of puddings'. We ordered cheesecake to finish but Grant, ever up for a joke, decided last night to serve us every dessert on the menu — at once!

Fantastic meal with the lasses on Friday night. Excellent service, lovely atmosphere as usual.

Four of us had the most delicious 4 course meal in the restaurant on saturday night and the food and the service was second to none, it was all superb and a very attentive staff, especially the 'peerie guy' he was super! Many thanks.

We recently had our wedding at busta and we can't recommended it enough! Joel, Grant and all their staff did a fantastic job to make it a completely seemless day, with fantastic food and a great venue! Thank you again guys.

Our group had to be divided — one at the Brae Hotel incl. Me — the other at the Busta Hotel. Dinner for everyone at Busta Hotel. Several employees helped with the unloading of suitcases or re-loading (the BraeLeute). A very nice old house — located directly on the bay — can only be reached from a small street. Has a special atmosphere. There is a room — I call in living room — with fireplace, sofas, books, reading corners — + a very beautiful garden. Since I was only there for dinner, I could not explore the house as it would have been desirable. The dinner was just fantastic. The best dinner of the whole trip. Very stylish. Our Busta people were definitely satisfied. (However, there is no elevator — just stairs).

Great location if you want to experience the whole Shetland island by car. The service and staff is excellent, and the food is great. Their full Scottish breakfast is so far my favourite.

Love this place! Friendly helpful staff. We had our wedding there and Grant and Joel were very helpful in organising it all and making our day perfect food is amazing and the rooms are lovely and clean. Deffo be back here again for our first anniversary.

An old country inn and restaurant in Shetland. Great hospitality, generous food portions, and hreat food. A memorable evening soent there with some local radio hams & their XYL's. 73 Bob W4RMF.

We had a lovely lunch here. The service was great and the food was delicious. I'd definitely go back again soon.

I stayed here every month without fail while traveling for work and I have to say this is the most friendly hotel I have stayed in. The hotel is so cosy looking and full of history and the rooms are amazing and all beautifully decorated. The staff are so welcoming and make you feel relaxed and at home and as for the food it is 5 and the sticky toffee is to die for. I traveled alone and never felt akward sitting eating by myself in the restaurant or having a lovely cuppa tea in the library on my own. If your visiting Shetland then this is where you want to stay for sure.

I didn't stay in the accommodation so can only review the restaurant. I had wanted to visit if only for the name and I was pleased I did. Few people about when I lunched and the staff were happy to let me wander about and look. Service was lovely and the meal very good. Beautiful countryside but then again, it's Shetland! I plan to return!

Beautiful old house in a gorgeous setting, full of character with nooks and crannies and twisty corridors. The lovely, friendly, smiling and efficient young staff are incredibly helpful. There are no lifts and lots of stairs but they carried our heavy bags into the hotel and to our rooms faster than we could carry ourselves there. The food here is traditional and beautifully presented, tending towards local meat and fish. I visited in a tour group so chose from a set menu. As a veggie I would have enjoyed more choice but my companions couln't praise the food enough. Highly recommended :) My only regret is arriving and leaving in the dark so having no photos to show.

Only stayed one night but it made a great impression. Great staff… amazing food… huge whisky selection with a lovely ambience to the place. I'll deffinately try and go back The icing on the cake… the receptionist run me to the airport at silly o'clock in the morning after I slept in.

Very enjoyable night, with just a couple of quibbles to stop me giving 5 stars. The set meal, at £35, isn't bad value but I've always thought the first course is fairly pointless — I think only one of eighteen of us had it! Also, the desserts were so big I don't think anyone bothered with the coffee and shortbread so, if I was being really picky, I'd say make it a three course meal at £30 each. Would have loved an open fire in the long room as well, on what was a pretty cold night. These are just minor points, though, the room was good, shower excellent, and breakfast superb. If I could I'd actually have given 4.5 stars!

Rooms were absolutely terrible. Linga smells of cooking and is boiling hot being above the kitchen. Don't stay more than one night and have plenty to drink to get any sleep. It's awfull to sleep in but to eat there is excellent. Don't go by the website.

Hotel, restaurant and bar in an old (17TH Cent) home in Shetland countryside. Great food, very ample portions, and super deserts. Ladies may want to consider ordering half or child portions if concerned about weight, but even those are quite ample. Hotel rooms have an elegant country home decor.

It's 2 years since we last visited Shetland and it's great to see some things don't change. Busta House is just as cosy, warm and welcoming as we remembered and the food is still superb, as is Grant, whose charismatic and outgoing personality fills the place even when he's not talking! It was my partner's birthday just before we arrived in Shetland and (with Grant, Joel and chefs Daniel and Linda's help) I had organised a special and rather gigantic 'death by chocolate' chocolate truffle cheesecake, to my home tested recipe. We came up with friends who run Rockvilla B&B in Lerwick. The food was superb — Shetland hill lamb in honey and mint sauce, 2 x salmon with garlic butter and a scallops were pronounced 'delicious'. Then the sweet menu arrived, shortly after which did Grant with the special birthday cheesecake — complete with raspberry coulis, whipped cream and a firework in the top, and a couple of waiting staff singing 'Happy Birthday'. A MASSIVE thanks to everyone who helped with the special birthday cheesecake and making Robin's belated birthday meal so special. The spoils of war went to the staff as a thankyou (I'm told it might feature on the Busta menu in future). It was 2 years since we had last been and it felt like a week ago. 2 years is way too long between visits! We like Busta House so much it's tempting to move to Shetland permanently.

We had a meal for my mothers 60th on tuesday night, the food was world class and the staff were superb, they had the champagne on ice for us arriving in the long room, fully recommend to everyone!

Excellent customer service and a beautiful building food is amazing would thoroughly recommend unfortunately we didn't meet the resident ghost but maybe next time.

This lovely hotel is in a great position for traveling in the Shetlands. The views are beautiful as is the whole area. Nothing is to much trouble for the owners Grant & Joel, everything possible is done to keep their guests happy. Excellent local food served with a smile. Highly recommended and I can't wait to go back, especially as the rooms are being upgraded.

Beautiful place to stop for a hot drink after a long day of walking Muckle Roe. Lovely coffee served in the long room with a little shortbread.

This comfortable hotel is ideally placed for a visit to the spectacular cliffs of Eshe Ness. Good food, a fine collection of malts, and some very reasonably priced wines.
