We had a lovely stay as a family of 4. Great staff, everyone was so accommodating and friendly. Bailey enjoyed his nap in the bar each night.

My daughter had her 21st birthday party here the staff were all very friendly, welcoming and very helpful for any requests we had thank you all for making my daughters birthday a night to remember. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a function.

Me and my husband where there for tea for 2. It was amazing. Very friendly, good service.

This place is amazing and I highly recommend it, I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone, we had our wedding here yesterday, Kathryn and Dee were amazing from start to finish, Kathryn especially, she made sure our wedding was the perfect day. The rooms were beautiful and on the day every member of staff was so friendly and helpful and the food OMG Every one of our guest loved there meal and my evening guests loved the evening buffet it all looked and tasted amazing. The dj was brilliant aswell, We cannot thank each member of staff enough for how perfect they made our day, thank you everyone 💖

Myself and my hubby had an amazing wedding on the 16th October. Every member of staff were so helpful and kind. We cannot thank everyone enough, especially Kathryn and Dee ❤

Staff could not have been any more attentive straight from check in staff to night porter to waiters and waitresses.
Great room service too this is our second time and will definitely be back. Nothing is an effort for any of the staff we have had a lovely 2 nights 😄

The afternoon tea is amazing really worth the visit. Parking is right next to the hotel and the young lady that served us was really lovely and attentive totally recommend.

Had an amazing stay with my girlfriend on Sunday. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making us feel very welcome and for a wonderful stay. Hotel is stunning. Area is stunning. Highly recommend and would love to come back for another visit 😁

Just had an evening meal. Staff were lovely. Food excellent. Only criticism was we waited nearly an hour to be served our meal.

Great reception and very helpful staff nice atmosphere and very comfortable in a good location easy to get to with ample parking I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Big room, large comfy bed we are here for 2 nights, Dinner was brilliant and breakfast set us up for the day, staff very friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful hotel, kind helpful staff, room was a great size, we stayed in Monday for overnight bed breakfast and evening meal, good was lovely, can't fault it, will be back.

Basic but clean and comfortable room.
Breakfast was delicious, all cooked well and good to see haggis on the plate.

Although decor is in need of refurbishment the manager and staff are just so helpful and friendly. Comfortable room. Not brand "new" but love the "character" of hotel. Lots 9f good memories of previous times so return was a must for us. — avec Cheryl Robertson.

The hotel staff from welcoming to leaving were absolutely fantastic polite helpful and respectful to us as guests. The meals were lovely the bed was extremely comfy, yes it’s a little dated but it didn’t put me off and I certainly will book to stay again in the future. I’d rather pay for the customer service we received than an overly modern hotel, the decor already there suited the type of building. Worth a wee visit. There is a lot of hotels could do with some lessons off these guys on how to treat customers.

Our first arrival yesterday to Perth, the Mercury we are sure will be the perfect option for a short days hollidays.

Mercure Hotel Perth Friendly. Helpful staff. Aware an old building. Although But feel somethings could be addressed. Though B listed building. Furniture tired. Beds comfortable. One hand towel to share by two guests. Concerns for various reasons. Cross infection/ skin conditions/or not even a family member. Own towels a priority. In general floor boards in rooms aware irritating to some guest. As whole of floors squeeking. Guests disturbed by this. Those underneath in rooms Some guest aware banging on ceiling. To get peace. Irritable. Some in need of room. Change due to. Suggestion. Floors need to be renewed. Bar prices expensive 7.20 for two lattes. And that includes alcohol prices. At times bar not staffed. Have to alert your awaiting. Not doing bar meals at this time of year. Out of season. Tea coffee tray in rooms. Only expect two teabags x 4 milk semi skimmed and whole milk. Plus coffee sachets. Herbal tea peppermint x1 No complementary biscuits. Rather disapointing. The hotel is quirky intersting history. Lade running inderneath in teo directions. Fsntastic feature. Garden area What would be an advantage is to address the above. Possibily background light music in bar area to create atmosphere. Fresh interior alittle brighter carpet. And staffed bar. With afordable costs of drinks. To encourage guests to use area. Bedrooms address teabags towels so forth. Furniture tired. Garden area a bonus.

Hotel is a nice historic water mill with the old mill retained. It has a cosy lounge and bar, however the rooms had no air conditioning, were not sound proof and there were no safe or refrigerator.

down side is bar prices which could be why this area was quiet!
Room was adequate for out needs, small point regards room was TV position. Tv was below bed level so using control and watching TV had to be in an upright position. Ie. Your feet got in way of TV and sensor.!
trivial but if you try it out you'll know what I mean.

Very dated, drinks and food prices are very expensive. Would not recommend.

Shower hasn't much power at all. Bath old and stained.
Very noisy early in the morning from front of building. Sounded like bottles being put in bottle bank and barrels being deliver to front of hotel.
Ordered pizza from room service. Charged £5 delivery for kitchen staff to bring it up 2 flights of stairs. Ragin to say the least.
Especially as they didn't mention the delivery charge when we placed the order.

On the 7th July we held our wedding here and had the most incredible day. The Mercure completely exceeded every single expectation on the most important weekend of our lives. From the first time we visited the hotel 1 year ago to checking in the day before the wedding, and everything in between, everyone we met went over and above to make us feel super special. The beautiful Scottish summer that we are experiencing allowed us to move the ceremony to the garden with less than 24hours to go. This was no trouble for Julie and her team and we had our beautiful day in the sunshine. Gabriella (Manager), Julie (Ops manager), to the bar staff, waiting staff, Sean who must have been up and down the stairs at least 50 times, Anna and the girl who worked Sat night who do an amazing job on reception, all couldn’t have done more to help us and our guests and don’t forget the house keeping team who turned our rooms around before photographers arrived.
Every little thing was no issue and they made everything possible. The kitchen team are incredible! They catered for 90 guests and everyone commented how fantastic the food was. Everyone loved the 3 course menu choice and that they were able to choose on the day. Top marks to the chef and his team! Honesty, they exceeded themselves! We held our ceremony followed by drinks and canapés in the garden which looked beautiful. The evening was incredible.

Rooms are pretty small. No A/C for warm summer nights. Service was good. Restaurant staff and food was good. Within walking distance to shopping district.

It's alright but the bar/restaurant staff didn't always appear to be quite with it. The rooms are basic but clean. Decent location. We found a random mannequin next to the bar when we were half cut.

Well was reading some the comments I am here now come on Wednesday be here till Saturday and must say it is good food room is good nice and central staff are nice but The drinks are over the top. So mercury lower your price and get more into bar.

Quite possibly the worst hotel I’ve been too. The staff where lovely (the only positive) and due to our room being so awful we spent most of the time in the bar downstairs. It was very overpriced as it was a gig night and totally not worth the money. The room was grubby and the hot water had been turned off. I would not recommend anyone stay here. It’s truly awful.

No elevator. Poorly designed shower. Breakfast light.

Got electrocuted by a faulty lamp in my room, pubic hair on the sink in the bathroom, lacking hot water, rest of the room felt dirty and outdated.

In dire need of maintenance, toilet pan actually not fixed to floor. Breakfast staff very professional, all staff very pleasant, just seemed remote. Well situated for town, comfortable, clean, just needs attention.

Lovely hotel staff were lovely and friendly. Food was good as well. Would recommend and definitely worth the money.

Not sure what to think of this terms of use for using their Wi-Fi. It doesn't feel right. And when trying to see the Privacy Policy… it doesn't open. The reception and the manager have never seen this before. Otherwise, this is nice place to stay. We've been coming here for couple of years now. Although not sure if we've seen the Wi-Fi policy before.

Warm welcome with staff well on point however room repairs could be done with a touch better steps.

Converted mill in the centre of Perth handy for the shops, bus station about 50m away, and the big parks down by the river. Looks interesting from the outside with sandstone walls, quaint windows and cobble stone courtyard at reception used for parking. The public areas looked OK, though in my opinion the hotel is showing it's age with trunking for cabling run throughout, single glazed windows (though they are draught proof and the heating in the room worked well-I was in room 8) and creaky floors. The inner doors at the entrance were either deliberately left open or broken, meaning all the hot air left the bar lounge and reception every time someone entered/exited, and the wheelchair lift was defective as well. The staff were pleasant and the self service breakfast was good (served till 11:00), with items regularly replenished. The 12:00 checkout was good for us too.

Had a Friday evening meal there recently and was not impressed. The waitress was charming and efficient but could do little to compensate for the fact that I was the only diner in a large restaurant on a Friday evening. The starter was expensive and underwhelming but my rump steak was quite the best I've tasted for ages.

Easily approachable, with plenty of dedicated parking spaces. The building had been a mill before it was a hotel and elements of this were incorporated in the architecture. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room. My wife and I were extremely satisfied.

The old watermill features of the hotel are a novelty with the water running underneath the building and visible through reception via glass windows. Good location close to town centre but dated decor within the hotel. The bathrooms could do with being replaced.

Very average hotel. Tired. Great location right in city centre. Poorly stocked and staffed bar. Person serving did not know what cognac was. Room good but tired. Would benefit from a comprehensive refurbishment.

Very dated and in need of renovation. Very central for shopping in Perth. The cleanliness of my room could have been to higher standard and a hoover would have been welcomed. The food was very tasty albeit from a limited menu however it should be tasty at the prices they charge for it. Would only stay again if everywhere else was full and had no choice.

Great hotel, friendly staff! It was way more interesting and historic than I had expected when I booked. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean and fresh. Will definitely book here again!

Visited in September 2017. Very friendly hotel with good parking. Not very modern, but rooms are clean and good. Bathroom was also clean but it is definitely from yesterday and a remodelling would be recommended. Location is great. Price is fair so if you don’t expect the most modern interior I absolutely can recommend it. Didn’t have breakfast there so I cannot comment on that.

The room was perfectly fine, the welcome and the check-in process quick and easy, we were a large group of guy's in town for golf and enjoyed a late drink in the bar, the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I think in the reception there is a very good reception, the rooms very clean and there is also room service if you need it. Then not to mention the breakfast lunch and dinner all great at breakfast bacon eggs gorgeous then not to mention the dinner. I recommend it to all the tourists who want to stay a while in this city.

This hotel is perfectly located for lots of activities in and around Perth. The rooms need a good bit of TLC, hence 3 stars, but the staff customer service was excellent.

Very little to say, that's nice, about this hotel. I suppose the food was good. Arrived at 6pm to full car parks (they have 2). Make sure you bring some change, because there's a public car park nearby. It's free between 6pm and 8am, if you pay the night before if allows you to park the next day. Rooms are very dated. Smelly shower curtain. Beds are horribly uncomfortable. No air con (I accept this isn't normally a problem in Perth), but in summer the rooms are roasting. Had to have the window open, but apparently Perth is VERY noisy. Wifi, is useless. I never write bad reviews, I can't be bothered, but this hotel is poor. Perth desperately needs some new hotels.

Nice hotel built on a historic mill site. Restaurant has a nice variety of dishes well cooked staff very attentive. Rooms are well designed and comfortable prices good.

Stayed here for 4 nights on a work trip. Clean rooms with a big bed (and this was just in a standard room). My bathroom was recently re-tiled but my colleague had an older one ; both were fine. Food was very nice but its at gastro pub prices so you may want to eat out. The staff were all very nice and the hotel was in a central location.

Not very clean, staff not very pleasant. Restaurant staff downright rude. No children's menu available because "people don't bring children here". The shower was a pathetic drizzle over the bath. The real killer for me was waking up covered in insect bites! They definitely have some sort of problem.

The staff a very friendly and helpful, the rooms are an adequate size, and clean but beware of the squeaky floors. You can hear even the slightest step of someone in the room above due to the noisy wooden floors.

Hotel is right in the centre of perth and super easy to get to from the train station. Hotel itself was clean in the room and can have no complaints there. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great — especially at breakfast. The food stations were always empty (no sauasage or bacon) and the staff were very slow to process orders not on the buffet. For example, we ordered some tea, coffee and porridge and it took nearly 20mins to arrive — and then when the porridge arrived it was cold. If I was to stay again, I would book accommodation only and go to the little pub across the road that does an awesome breakfast for £9.

On booking in the receptionist (although lovely) informed us our room wasn't ready ready for us as it was still "dirty"…! When we finally got in to our room, we found that the window latch didn't work properly due to the wooden frame being worn away and 2 lamps in the room weren't working, maybe bulb had went but the best laugh was at night in the hotel bar when I requested an espresso cocktail from the bar menu but the pleasant barmaid looked puzzled and we had to show her the menu. She then informed us, after reading the menu, that they didn't do that cocktail as it was on the seasonal list, I had to ask "what season do you make them? " To be told "Christmas " but Cosmopolitan and Mojito was on same list… I wonder what season they fall under! The cost of the just above average room was the only saving grace but the bar prices are very expensive. Not the best hotel but not the worst I've stayed in either.

Room… mmmmm OK? Double bed was two single beds pushed together… sheets didn't fit, window let in a draft and provided little or no sound proofing, decor was tired, cleaning not done to the highest standards, but hey the TV in the room worked so you could distract yourself with that, which was nice. And there was a Wi-Fi signal so you could access the Internet and search around Perth for a nicer place to stay. But the meals in the restaurant? Oh dear, just pretty shamefull really. If you advertise and call the area where you serve meals "a restaurant" or "brasserie", and you charge accordingly then I believe that you should be actually cooking with perhaps the occassional fresh ingredient, as apposed to heating things up from frozen? Nothing in the evening meals offered appeared to be cooked from fresh. From a small menu offered, there were several items not available? No salmon, no noodles, no salad? Yeah really asked for salad and none was available. Pub grub standards… and a pretty shoddy pub at that, and the Mercure Perth have the cheek to charge as though they are actually cooking and serving fresh food? I can't imagine they have ever had a repeat customer who made the unfortunate error of trying the evening meals service at their… errmmm restaurant/brasserie? But the breakfasts in the morning were slightly better. When the coffee machine worked then the coffee was nice. The bacon was bacon and the little lady who ran the breakfast service was lovely.

Good central location but it could do with some tender, loving care. Rooms are a bit tired and the shower was of a vintage variety. Ok for an overnight stopover if you book ahead and get a decent rate.

Hotel is centrally located in Perth but needs a bit of updating. Rooms and public areas looking tired and need major refurbishment. Not up to usual Mercure hotel standards.

Hotel as a whole was fine with attentive desk staff room was big comfortable and clean good parking Downside was a mistake by booking. Com they cancelled our room without telling us meaning we had to pay full price,

Possibly the worst meal I have ever been served at a hotel. Somewhat reminiscent of a cheap takeaway. When we informed the waiter as to our dissatisfaction, he just laughed.

Not to bad the rooms are clean enough. Cld did with being modernized. Gd food in the restaurant.

Poor. I stayed here for two weeks due to work, I wasnt expecting it to be outstanding but half decent was what I had in mind. It was outdated but worst of all there was still rubbish left on the floor of my room off the last people, the shower did not work therefore I had to use the bath which still had small hairs on the tiles which knocked me sick. When I locked my single glazed rotton window it would infact push the window outwards slightly, defeating the object of it being locked and letting in a cold draft. Do not recommend the food in the hotel, if you are paying yourself it is not worth the money. I will be very dissapointed if I am sent to stay here again. However the staff are nice especially the older woman who helps at breakfast time. Very lovely.

Hotel in it's self was nice, staff very friendly, but attitude and competence of the staff could be improved, tried to have a meal in the restaurant after checking in arrived in restaurant at 8pm half hour after it opened for a table for 2 to be told to come back at 9 30pm and they may have a table but would only be serving lite menu as restaurant closes at 9 45pm. Think after travelling all way from Ireland and was starving hotel restaurant should give some preference to hotel guests.

If you like the year 1990 then your in for a treat. Old Green carpet, single glazing, yellowing bathroom. Although clean, small room and outdated. You can see the yellowing/browning in the bathroom. Not many places to park. In need of updating. It will not be my first pick next time. I stay in a different hotel 5 days a week. It's amazing what Adobe lightroom can do in the photos you see above.
