We had our Ruby Wedding meal here in June & everyone has raved about it since then. Food was amazing & staff were great. The hotel is beautiful. We returned last night for a meal & we loved it just as much. Beautiful place with lovely views.

Very beautiful hotel with traditional four poster beds a romantic hall lounge area with indoor balcony seating. A great restaurant serving mainly good Scottish food with a solid comforting wine list to match. 5/5 and 10/10 all round.

Stayed in the disabled room/suite. Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Excellent evening meal.

We were very well looked after whilst staying. The place looked great with a beautiful Christmas tree. Food was excellent and the staff were great. Thank you. Definitely recommend having a night here!

The owner and her staff are amazing, I've been a few times now and will be back again soon.

The Lands of Loyal is a very special place…
a sanctuary of peace and tranquility with the most incredible atmosphere and decor taking you back into another time and place. The staff are always really happy, helpful and very hospitable. Having spent many times having fabulous food by the fire and drinking their fine wines and gins we would highly rate this experience as like no other. As a treat we stayed over for a couple of nights and everything was just perfect and the owner was so friendly and welcoming she made us feel at home ; needles to say we come here as often as we can given our work schedules. Christmas time here at Lands of Loyal with their fairy tail Christmas tree is a really magical time too. We are already planning our next stay in what is a bucket list experience to us and very memorable and means a lot to us. Jackie and Bob McLellan.

We have stayed in the Lands of Loyal Hotel before, fabulous hotel set in beautiful landscape. The staff treat you like family. The food is delicious. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hidden gem to anyone. It’s like trip back to a time, every room is individual with antique furniture and decor, spectacular. And the fire in the reception room is warm and inviting. Nothing is too trouble for the staff. Well worth a visit.

We had my mum's surprise 60th birthday afternoon tea here yesterday. The food was delicious and plenty of it, staff were very helpful and polite and the hotel itself is beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back.

Went for a meal during week, steak amazing, then stayed overnight last night, warm and friendly atmosphere, staff amazing, wll definately stay again.

Stumbled across this place whilst looking for somewhere to have afternoon tea. The receptionist was very apologetic whilst explaining everything is freshly made so pre booking essential. We left, rather disappointed because it looked lovely from the outside. Before we'd started the car the receptionist had come outside to say we couldn't have afternoon tea but they could provide some homemade scones & tea?
We were shown into the inner sanctum and transported to another world. The entrance hall was laid out as a salon with sofas and chairs, hunting trophies and a roaring fire. I wasn't sure if it was Downton Abbey or Miss Marple, but it was lovely.
Our fruit and cheese scones arrived, respectively with cream, jam, butter & chutney and a pot of tea which the receptionist happily replenished. She repeatedly said "It's no bother" and, unlike most, she absolutely meant it.
I'm determined to return when I'm next in Scotland, for dinner or a full afternoon tea. We couldn't have been made more welcome — the place is stunning and the receptionist was kind enough to let me wander the dining rooms, each beautifully decorated with glorious views of the gardens. We really felt very lucky to have spent an hour in such sumptuous surroundings — and the charge was much less than I'd expected, so a double whammy!

We had a beautiful meal on Saturday the fillet steak cooked to perfection and wonderfully garnished with fresh veg and potato gratin. Only complaint is the portions were too big to leave room for pudding even after a wee rest.

We're just back from an overnight stay in this haven of peace and tranquillity. Food out of this world, staff are so lovely and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Definitely be back soon.

Have stayed a couple of times now and they always make us feel at home. Great food and breakfasts too.

The building is very romantic from the outside and the garden invites you to wander around. Only the rooms — at least those in the annex — can be improved. Window partly to the yard and thus to the kitchen side.

Our 1 night there was very pleasant. Victorian atmosphere and large room with a view down the front drive was excellent. Bathroom was ultra modern and appreciated. Lovely area for walking. Dinner was EXCEPTIONAL and breakfast also great. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel with stunning surroundings. The food is delicious, always well cooked, beautifully presented and fresh. Dog friendly. You can even eat in the bar area with your pet, they’ll bring the food through to you. Staff are very friendly and polite. Breakfast is delicious and there is a lot on offer. Highly recommend this hotel, every time we have stayed it has been excellent.

Favorite for this establishment we spent 2 nights in this establishment which is a real gem. Its decoration, its architecture, its magical entrance hall and the warmth that comes out make it an exceptional hotel. We enjoyed the quality of reception, with our room lit, open, ready to welcome us to our arrival. The canopy bed, sumptuous, decoration with a very refined Japanese touch, very nice bathroom. Convinced us of the exceptional quality of this hotel. The restaurant, meanwhile, is at the height of the rest, the duo of salmon/sole is succulent, as is the casserole of deer. We were also amazed by the richness of the breakfast, with its fresh salad, its white cheese and its fish, all with a view of the park!

Rustic jewel nestled at the foot of the Scottish Highlands, seems almoat lost in time. Very comfortable and steeped in accumulated weird and wonderful items, it's a joy to relax in. Rooms are well appointed and well-maintained. Food is of a high standard, and of good quantity. Apparently the vegetarian offerings were good too, although I had the omnivore choices and found the meat beautiful. The staff, especially the young lads were absolutely excellent and couldn't do enough to help us or offer anything. Grounds are lovely and the roaring fire in the main hall provides a homely and comfortable ambience.

Spend a lovely afternoon here as a treat for my mum for mothers day. Absolutely gorgeous place… huge big open fire and lovely decor in the lounge where we waited before being taken to our table. Staff really friendly and helpful. Our table was at the window with a great view and the food was delicious. Filled sandwiches, scones with plenty cream and jam, cakes and refills of tea. Cannot fault and will definitely be back.

Increasingly rare, a quality independent family run country house hotel. A comfortable step back in time.

Stayed overnight following a Christmas dinner, an enchanting hotel with a warm fire, great food and character full bedroom. Would love to go back again soon.

I have been to Lands of Loyal probably 20 times over the last 15 years but… the current owners and have got just got it. The staff are the most professional I have met… so much so my wife and I are booking a weekend away this week. Folks until you have sat at the open fireplace at Lands of Loyal you haven't lived. Be Happy.

First time visit at Lands of Loyal today which was a truly unique and wonderful experience, really enjoyed the delicious home baked scones and coffee by the roaring fire which crackled away in spectacular Victorian/Edwardian splendour. Appreciated the total peace & tranquility. Def return soon xx.

We booked this hotel for a relaxing night away and that is exactly what we got. We stayed in the coach house and the decor was in keeping with the 'olde worlde' character of the house. We had lots of room to chill out and the beds were extremely comfortable. The food served for our evening meal was exceptional, as was our breakfast the following morning. All staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All in all this was exactly the relaxed short break we were looking for and will definitely return.

Two friends and I had afternoon tea here yesterday but an oversight when booking, resulted in me forgetting to say that one of us had coeliac disease! We told the staff when we arrived expecting the worst but at this very late stage, the chef put together the most delicious gluten free afternoon tea for my friend, and my other friend and I did not have to feel at all guilty whilst we tucked in to generously filled and tasty sandwiches, huge scones with butter, jam and cream, melt in the mouth meringues and lovely, delicate tartlets which we couldn't finish but which were wrapped for us to take home. Added to the fact that we were in beautiful surroundings made the less than £20 price, very reasonable indeed. Thank you all so much for a wonderful afternoon in your excellent hotel restaurant.

Amazing place to visit. Feels like out of this time :) Stopped by just for a drink at the bar and have a look around. Very well done! Everything is in place and down to detail, personnel attention just right/settled. Down to tiny details like oil laps on the tables, settled music, spot on set tables for dinning, spectacular fire place with ongoing live fire, photos that gives a vibe of the time and even little lions at the front of gran staircase and tiny wood ornament decorations. Cousy lady rooms with all luxuries and still keeping the sense of the "time". Haven't explored further yet that's why — 4 stars. Well done for the design and keeping it smooth and welcome! xx.

Absolutely love this place it never disappoints… whether it be for a quiet dinner; a celebratory gathering (Christmas/weddings) ; drinks after a long walk (with the dog — v dog friendly) or an over night stay as I say you will not be disappointed! The ambiance and food are amazing; the owners and their staff are so welcoming and friendly — nothing is too much! Such a special place… that never changes — thank you! A unique Scottish gem, the entrance hall is without a doubt the most spectacular I have ever seen. Family run business and the staff are very friendly.

Went here for dinner one evening unaware of the type of place that it is. You get there and have to sit in an awkardly quiet and dim lounge, drink orders are taken and you sit having your drinks and then order you food. Once food is ready you're taken to your table by overly polite and formal staff. The food was very good, typically Scottish menu of meat and veg but all very well executed. Overall the food was cracking but the atmosphere was dated and somewhat reminiscent of a murder mystery environment.

The venue is unique, where else has a taxidermy cheetah head on the wall. The furnishings are however old and tired and in need of some sprucing up. Food is good.

Issues with staff during meal after funeral which resulted in people leaving. Owners and staff were unhelpful and ignorant to the issue. Extremely upsetting during an already difficult time.

Absolutely stunning hotel. Even a bit spooky which I love. Best food we had in Scotland. However. We were taken here on the Jamie and Claire tour and though the locations are wonderful the tour staff/guides are absolutely awful and even split us in separate groups at this hotel and served us from a cheaper menu for no apparent reason. They forced the staff to create a separate menu for us different from the other half of our tour group. I would certainly stay here again in a minute, but I would NOT book this through the Jamie and Claire tour as they are the most unprofessional, unorganized tour operator I have every experienced with an awful attitude as well. The hotel itself is amazing and the staff couldn't have been nicer.

I booked for a wedding anniversary celebration lunch with my wife, and was VERY disappointed with the somewhat pedestrian table d'hote menu offered. When I asked for the a la carte menu, I was informed this was not available! The starters were acceptable, but the main courses we ordered were both rather disappointing, and my wife's had to be sent back as it was lukewarm. As we were the only people eating, I find this completely inexplicable and unacceptable. The young waitress who served us was very friendly and obviously anxious to please, in stark contrast to the remaining members of staff who gave us the impression that we had intruded into their day! Having enjoyed many weekend breaks, lunches, and indeed our own wedding celebration under the auspices of the previous excellent owners, to whom nothing was any trouble, we are saddened to realise that the service at the Lands of Loyal Hotel has deteriorated to such an extent that it is no longer worthy of our esteem.
