Stayed here 4 nights in the Suite called Flotta. This room has two panoramic windows looking onto the Scapa Flow and the Islands of Holm of Houton Cava, Fara, Rysa, Hoy, Flotta and many more Islands. With views to die for. This room was large has many extras such as large TV, Teas Coffee and beautiful shortbread, Complimentary Sherry and Orkney fudge provided in the little fridge as well as fresh milk for our coffee and teas. Orkneylodge serves a beautiful fresh fruit and berries European Buffet style breakfasts costing only £5 per person per day. We had soft boiled eggs and porridge as well as lovely fresh berries, cereal and yoghurt various types on offer, lovely home made toast made fresh daily on the premises. There is also a selection of Orkney ham and Cheeses to tempt your appetite. Orkneylodge is central for the Ferry going to The South Islands such as Hoy and Flotta. We didn't have a car. There is a good bus service daily going to Kirkwall 5 buses a day and going to Stromness twice a day. There is also a car Ferry called the Hoy Head going to Hoy and Flotta daily. Twice only on a Saturday as we found out. We were a little disappointed. We wanted to stay an extra night and could not as Orkneylodge was fully booked. The lodge was booked solid for the four nights we were there. We highly recommend Orkneylodge. We advise you to book well in advance if you wish to stay here or you may be disappointed. In our room we had a little fridge. It's the first fridge we have had in our room on our travels in Scotland. There was also house coats, slippers, Iron and Ironing Board in Flotta Suite. Thank you to the wonderful attentive Staff at Orkneylodge they are very friendly and offer many extra services, such as boking restaurants and taxi's for guests in advance. We hope to return again for another visit this time we will tay longerat Orkneylodge as there is a lot to do and see in Orkney. We have yet to take the shortest flight in the world and get our certificate fro Westray Island to Papa Westray 1 min in the air. Hoy Island has a War Museum not open at the moment due to being refurbished. We missed The Ness of Brodgar Excavations awe were there in the wrong months for to see this Excavation July and August we were advised. See you net year, thank you again we really enjoyed our stay at Orkneylodge, we will highly recommend you to all our friends and family. :)
