We had a lovely lunch at Ben Wyvis hotel. Great selection of food and the Staff are fantastic.

Lovely area and dog-friendly hotel. Thats my second visit. Even my dog Fifi, was enjoying wee walks around. Quiet and comfortable rooms and tasty food. We will definitely come back.

Here in Strathpeffer for golf, the Ben Wyvis hotel is the ideal place to relax, this is our second visit, first visit for our wedding anniversary, this visit for my wife’s birthday, very friendly staff, food good, atmosphere is very relaxed, great way to wind down. We will be back.

We just had the most perfect wedding here. Everything about this hotel is so grand and the staff are so attentive and friendly. Nothing is too much hassle. All my family and friends were so impressed with this beautiful venue and the friendly staff. In particular, our master of ceremonies Lawrence was so friendly and helpful and Debbie, Lindsay and the team helped us plan a day we will never forget. The biggest thank you to you all!

Great stay with hubby on 1st August for 2 nights.
highly recommend the hotel. Staff were so lovely and accommodating and although not so busy, it was just lovely.

food in the restaurant was just amazing. Melt in the mouth Sirloun steak and chicken stuffed with haggis, Yummy.

I really liked the hotel. It's Victorian in style and on the outside it looks like a castle. Inside, all the décor is stylish. It has a spectacular garden with very good views from the dining room. You could improve the toilets in the bathrooms that are a bit old.

Back after some years but just as good as before, very friendly staff and good meals. Special note it has its own small cinema!

Looks beautiful as you pull into the drive and into reception but then once you leave the poor attitude of the lady on the reception desk you realise it's an hell hole, we was on the 4th floor but lift only goes 2 floors, me and my 9yr old son struggling with motorcycle cases up and down stairs and tight poorly signed corridors for 20mins till we found our room. Once in the room the beds where rock hard, bathroom was under a stair well so could not stand in the bath to shower so never got used. Where currently on a 10 day tour of Scotland on motorcycle and in a different hotel every night, so far we've been luck as all have been great except this one. Long story short, only stay here if it's a last resort in my opinion.

Building dated a bit vintage but in a nice park. Too bad the Church is for sale. Food good fast service.

In its day must have been stunning now mostly coach tour's.

The place is beautiful and very stately, the view from the entrance is imposing. The kitchen is very good. The rooms are simple and the hot water takes quite a while to get out. The road to the rooms is almost a maze.

This hotel needs a completely reform. It's a victorian building. We stayed there in the floor 3 and the lift only goes to the second floor, then you must go upstairs and downstairs in corridors like a labyrinth, we were thinking to ask for a GPS, to reach our room.

Brilliant hotel gorgeous food and plenty vireity and choice just been done up.

This is a classic hotel with a lot of traditions. We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed it's great meals.

Booked in this afternoon. First room had an over bath shower but didn't have a shower curtain. Was given another room, this room only has a hand held shower in the bath. This hotel obviously doesn't believe in showers! Room pleasant enough certainly and haven't tried food yet. Bar not open til evening so have to go out for coffee /drink if desired.

Enjoyed our stay here, nice old building. Good breakfast, clean and comfortable room. Towels terrible, most had holes in them. TV tiny and poor picture, not worth watching.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Staff were fantastic.

Very impressive building in the centre of the lovely village of Strathpeffer, but it's the staff who raise this hotel a notch higher, in particular the young lady on reception who could not do enough for us.

Building and surroundings look stunning pity all the good things ended there room from the 1920s all furniture tops peeling and manky TV was smaller than a computer screen but that didn't matter as you couldn't get a picture on the TV even after they changed it.
Shower was totally useless
Food ok best advise is to avoid the place until serious modernisation is done what a disappointment but as they say looks are deceiving.

Nice old hotel, looked after our bikes very well, comfy bed, nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

Receptionist was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Freezing cold in the rooms and radiators were completely inadequate, it didn’t make for a very comfortable stay.

Spent the entire night wearing a hoodie in bed, with my hood up, in the faetal position due to the sub zero temperatures in the room. The one small radiator beside my colleagues bed was barely functioning in the morning (wouldn't have sufficed to keep the room warm anyways) but more importantly, we needed it functioning throughout the night as it was — 7 outside! Also worth mentioning that my bed was positioned right beside a single glazing window, away from the one, non functioning radiator. The bathroom was at least 3 degrees colder as well. One of the worst stays in my life.

Whilst this isn't the same five star rating I would give the Ritz, the place was superb value for money, really characterful and felt like a lovely trip. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the rooms spacious and whilst not everything was perfect (don't plan on a power shower! ) It has a beautiful slightly faded grandeur which brought images of balls and women in crinolines to mind. At 75£ a night for dinner, breakfast and bed (with a bottle of wine thrown in the first night) I will definitely go back, if only to work my way further through their superb whisky collection.

Dated, you would think when you pull up what a wonderful place but it definitely needs to be updated.

Cold egg. Why the staff don't think on their feet?
I had porridge asked the waiter for cream when he ask us for tea or coffee. 1 min it would have taken to bring me cream : o no, I was finished by the time he brought my tea and us toast. (think out the box guys) Overall cost etc all ok.
But someone please inject some Money into this old building.

Loved this place… its a grand old hotel built in 1877… large and well kept… beautiful setting… u need to stay here.

An aged structure in which you can recognize Hercules Poirot in the Living room. So. The room is not so big but nice sleep. The breakfast is good.

Nice structure, aged but it still has character. The Bathroom is big as is bed and bedroom. From my room I had a nice view. The TV was an old analogical one, but doing the job. The blinders worked well. The negative side is that noise was coming from corridor and water pipes in the bathroom, nothing extremely annoying but to be considered. I had dinner their and it was good. My vote of four is in relation to the above and the price. High season one night and dinner for two at £123.60.

North of Inverness, about 20min by car far from it. In a very small village with few shops almost all closed on Mondays, including the tourist information point. The room I had was large and with a nice view. The style and furniture is old and full of dust, maybe due to the presence of the carpet everywhere. The service is not exceptional, but in the average. It looked to me the structure of the hotel could give the possibility to have an higher level of service.

Not the best but I've stayed in worse. If you want something quick and easy when passing through then this is ideal.

Prices per room are quite expensive for what you get, but overall service good and staff were friendly.

The staff are lovely and very friendly which cultivates a relaxing atmosphere. Always willing to go the extra distance to make the experience enjoyable. The hotel is slightly dated however it is well maintained and the rooms are spacious.

The small cinema is very quaint and the food is wonderful. The hotel is haunted as it was used to house prisoners during world war 2 some of whom died in their cells. These are the rooms with the low doorways. Guests have seen things move overnight in the rooms without explanation and heard strange noises.

Hotel staff were very nice. Surprising to hear that it had its own cinema (which was just a 42" TV which played DVDs — free of charge! ) first ever hotel I've seen supply this. The evening food came in small amounts which was upsetting but this is a minor glitch. Breakfast was all you can eat with brilliant food selections. Waitering staff were sometimes too social and others were not there 100%. The room up stairs was the perfect size for a family of 4 — bathroom and bedroom were totally clean upon entering — one minor flaw cold drafts always blew through the window across the bed (which was next to window) in the morning. Lovely surroundings as you exit the building.

I worked 4 month and a half as general assistant (kepi, waiter cooker) : — Unhygienic chef in the kitchen, he sucks his finger and touch the food (I often saw him) — Low cost food — Toast from TESCO (Digwall) It smells dead rats in the lift, — Flea in rooms — The General manager steel our tips — Supervisor Niel is dangerous but as guest, you can get him as a puppet. — Photos on the internet don't reflect reality.

We stayed here for one night. The rooms were not nearly as nice as was on the website, but we wouldn't have minded had the customer service been good, but it was not at all! Front of house were unhelpful, when a bottle of juice was spilled, housekeeping staff were rude and extremely grudging about cleaning it, and the barmaid when we were having our dinner was sarcastic and very rude. Not impressed with customer service considering what we paid. It's a shame as it's a nice old hotel in a beautiful location.

Stayed one night, never again. Food good but portions very small, still hungry after dinner. Breakfast total chaos had to stand in queue waiting for things to be cooked then came in dribs and drabs by the time you got everything it was cold. Bed was uncomfortable and squeaked every time you made the slightest movement.

We stayed in this hotel on Saturday night and we were horrified what we found. We arrived in our room which was not even cleaned. We then asked to be moved to another room which was upstairs and things got even worse. We opened the wardrobe and the thing fell over and almost fell apart! I then tried to go for a shower and found that this didnt work as it was broken. I decided to have a wash and picked up one of the towels from the towel rail which was covered in mould which was clearly from the Dampness and ROT that had formed in the window. The TV did not work and the phone looked like it hadnt been cleaned in 20 years. The whole room was not habitable! When we booked in we asked about getting some room service to our room and we were told this was not possible but we could come down to the restaurant at 6.30 and pick up some food which we could have in our room. We asked to speak with the Manager and at the time were told that this was not possible but the head receptionist would speak with us. We eventually spoke with the duty manager who shrugged her shoulders and asked me "What do you want me to do about it" I then said that even some hot food would be nice and she said that her hands were tied and she could not offer us food. She then told me there was a Takeaway in Dingwall which is a 15 mile round trip where we could get food. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. This place should have its star rating removed.

I stayed here as I was working in Inverness. I am so glad I picked this hotel as the location is absolutely stunning. The hotel is a bit dated but has lots of character. Very friendly staff, decent grub, room was clean.
