Enjoyed our stay, room very comfortable & overlooked the gardens.
Food was delicious, great service staff were very attentive & friendly.
Hotel is very central to explore the area, beautiful beaches almost all deserted just stunning.

Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful lovely setting and the food looked amazing oh and the Whisky wasn't bad either.

Had a lovely dinner, great staff, good price.

We have just had another wonderful stay in the beautiful Dornoch Castle hotel. Staff are lovely friendly & interested. Beautiful food. Gorgeous room in a great location. Will definitely be back.

I found them most helpful being lactose intolerant, they made sure there was soya milk, I even had a dairy free chocolate pudding with dairy free cream!
They made sure my daughter had a lovely wedding day. The food was excellent and the service too.
The rooms were welcoming and all the ladies that cleaned the rooms were so helpful, friendly and nothing g was too much trouble.

Can't say enough about the wonderful staff, delicious meal and beautiful room. The stunning Castle speaks for it's itself but the decor and cosy feel in the tap room made me feel like I was truly in the Highlands.

Excellent bar staff, Cosmopolitan was perfect.

Went for a meal in their restaurant — £30 for rib eye steak chicken dish £20 so pricey but lots of flavours and a lovely ambience.

Great (dog friendly) beer garden, tasty bar snacks. Lovely location — quiet, secluded. Well worth a visit.

Excellent gin cocktails made with Thompson Brother's gin distilled on the premises. Massive selection of whiskeys. Good food. Great service. Would love to return when some of the current refurbishment is complete and hopefully next time stay in one of the castle deluxe rooms rather than the more modern standard rooms. These are still very comfortable for a short stay.

Brilliant weekend with family and friends at Dornoch Castle Hotel. Lovely rooms all with their own individual style, welcoming, friendly and efficient staff. Lovely ambience in the bar sitting beside the open fire. Fabulous food. Local produce prepared with invention and flair by Head chef Grant Macnicol. I couldn’t fault a thing.

Bland food! Lovely place to have a drink. The feather beef was simply not nice, potatoes were reheated presumably in the microwave, beef dry and no taste to the dish at all. My husband had the venison burger he said it was standard along with its 6 chips! Not what is expected for the prices I am afraid.

Excellent food, well-appointed and comfortable rooms, friendly staff and one of Scotland's best and most comprehensive whisky bars! There are drams on the menu here which can take your breath away. On recommendation of the bartender, I tried a Glen Garioch 15 yo distilled in 1975 when they were still using a good portion of peated malt. And it was amazingly fresh and lively with superb soft smokey notes. That can make your visit a very special one. If you love rare and exceptional drams, this is the place to stay.

Hotel was clean. Bathrooms were nice. Food in restaurant was very good. Service in the hotel was horrible.

They have a wide selection of rare whiskies with reasonable prices.

Lovely and cosy bar, with a large selection of gins and whiskeys. The macaroni nuggets went down well with the beers.

The staff are so friendly the minute you step through the door. Rebecca was very friendly and easy to speak to. She showed us to our room. 1st class services everyone of them. Unfortunately due to the horrendous snowy weather conditions many people had to cancelled. But the staff went out their way to be helpful. We got to meet Simon and he talked about his distillery which was very interesting and he was very knowledgeable. I wish him lots of success with his whisky and gin. I loved the gin we enjoyed his tour which he allowed us to see even though the actual event had to be cancelled due to the weather. The open fire and bar staff was so friendly we just sat cosy by the fire while they came with g&t and kept our glasses full. Food was excellent as was breakfast, and our room was excellent. We both had a beautiful sleep. So we will definitely be back. Highly recommend this friendly hotel worth a visit.

Best whisky bar I have been to in Scotland. A collection like no other, great advice from the bartenders and a nice relaxing atmosphere with crackling fireplace.

Warm and charming with the most incredible selection of whisky imaginable. The staff are marvellously friendly and have a strong dedication to keeping the open fire roaring. There is a mixture of skill amongst the staff on their fire-setting talent, but they all have equal enthusiasm. Didn't try the food, but the menu looked really good so will return soon.

Had a meal there tonight and all I can say is wow. The food and service was 100%. I really cannot fault it, and our waitress "Janna" I beleive was amazing, as were all the other amazing staff that are employed. Also compliments to the chef.
Will definately be back.

Cosy bar, they close for food too early in summer, especially when people are finishing on the golf course. I understand it's a Whisky bar and the barmen are passionate about talking to guests, but when other clients are standing waiting to be served for drinks, they should be acknowledged and served before returning to talk in length about whiskies.

Such an amazing place. If you have the opportunity, you should visit. The food is great, the staff is amazing, and the whisky selection is out of this world. My wife and I stayed in a castle room and we only had our expectations exceeded. The town itself is also full of activities to explore, so please visit.

There are few moments that are so special they feel frozen in time. Dornoch Castle Hotel helped create one of those moments for me. My husband and I decided to visit Scotland to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. As a surprise, the Dornoch Castle Hotel (Laura) helped my husband organize a renewal of our vows in the cathedral across the street with Reverend Susan Brown officiating. I was moved to tears at the level of support and effort they went to ahead of time to plan and prepare the ceremony. It started with a red carpet rolled especially for us when we left the hotel and ended with a horse drawn carriage that took us to dinner after the ceremony where a magnificent bagpiper greeted us. Besides the birth of my children, it was the most incredible experience of my life. The hotel itself is incredibly unique, the food is excellent, and the service is superior to any we’ve ever experienced. The Dornoch Castle Hotel is great for any type of stay – a vacation, a golf trip, a weekend getaway, or a longer stay. If you’re looking for a special place to hold a special event (like a wedding ;) you won’t be disappointed.

The best staff. So knowledgeable and helpful. It was my mother's birthday and they poor her a whiskey from her birth yr. The bar tender also spent the time explaining and giving the back story of the whiskey she was drinking. Highly recommend.

An incredible location (Dornoch) and an amazing hospitality venue. We stayed in The Old Courtroom that has to be experienced to be appreciated with a level of comfort and a generosity of facilities that are second to none for the price. The four-poster bed was extremely comfortable, and the room has a spa bath with bath robes supplied and quality tea/coffee facilities. We were gifted a complimentary bottle of chilled Prosceco. The in-room log fire was a unique feature and extremely romantic. The staff were all exceedingly warm, friendly and helpful. The restaurant provided great service for dinner and breakfast, offering local produce and specialities. An outstanding, memorable and enjoyble experience.

A nice hotel with a great bar. The barman was friendly and very knowledgeable. The bed was comfortable and the room was well appointed. There are just two things that prevent this from being a five star review. Firstly, the bathroom was very dated and out of keeping with the rustic nature of the building. This was coupled with some poor quality tiling in the WC in the turret. Secondly, the doors to the room and the en-suite were the cheap kind you might pick up at B&Q for a rental property. They were lightweight and again not fitting with the building or the price point of the room. These issues are perhaps reminiscent of when the building was last refurbished, however they do detract from the overall experience of what is an otherwise good place to stay.

The atmosphere in this place is fantastic! If possible the bar is even better still. Lovely big open fire and fantastic food. Good food, good whiskey and good friends :)

Really lovely hotel. The room had a great four poster bed and a nice view put the back of the hotel. Dinner in the resterant was extremely good and the whisky bar is fantastic.

The building, staff, and food all exceeded our expectations. The whisky bar was particularly awesome. On our trip, this was easily our favorite place that we stayed; and we stayed at 9 different places, including another castle hotel that was supposed to be nicer! A very charming place.

Spent a couple of nights here, the place is lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful — I'd ordered some flowers to be delivered there, and the staff placed them in the room in a vase — beyond expectations. My only reservation is that the food menu is restrictive, a few more options would have been welcome, but the food itself is lovely and there are other local places to eat if you want a change. The place itself is a converted castle, and the restaurant is a conservatory attached to the side providing an airy and pleasant place to eat. The floors can be slanted slightly, but that's part of it originally being a castle and as such simply adds character. Highly recommended.

Amazing, amazing hotel. Dinner and breakfast included but unexpectedly top-grade, and a great whisky selection from very generous and knowledgeable staff.
