At No 9 Hotel

Fantastic! Stayed here 1 night, the location is great, parking right outside, the room was fabulous, beautifully decorated with an exceptional shower and en-suite. The breakfast was delicious and the owner made us feel really welcome, she even managed to get us a table booking at a really busy local restaurant. Highly recommended!

If your travel plans include anything in the vicinity of Dornoch or inverness, you need to include a stay at Evelyn's place. Even if you don't plan on going to those locations, you should go out of your way to stay at her lovely home! :) She has paid attention to the small things that make the big difference in an overnight stay… excellent bedding, extremely clean home, wonderful breakfast, charming conversations, etc. At No. 9 is a very well-built structure (quiet rooms, floors don't creak) that feels very fresh while at the same time giving you all the charm of Highlands. And Evelyn is one of the most hospitable people I've ever met. Stay there. The 5 star reviews are authentic.

Well turned out B and B. Recently renovated, well located across form the cathedral in Dornoch so great access to the facilities. Very cosy and comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast. The proprietor is very welcoming and hospitable, we were met with a cup of tea and cake after a long trip and treated like part of the family whilst we were there. Definitely preferred over the larger hotels in the town.

What a stunning place. The host is truly welcoming, and makes you feel instantly at home and relaxed. Supremely comfortable large bed with crisp white sheets. Home made porridge from local oatmeal. Much warmer than other local establishments with a private guests' snug with wood burner. Decorated in a modern "Burns" style, with collections of Victorian books, sporrans and other highland artefacts. Could easily be featured in an interior design magazine.

Wow! We stayed here 1 night whilst on honeymoon, we were greeted by the lovely owner with tea and home bakes. Our room was absolutely gorgeous as was the breakfast in the morning. We will definitely be coming back here for our 1st wedding anniversary. ❤️

Huge room (the Douglas suite), comfy bed, great shower, big breakfast. Evelyn was a fantastic host and really made our stay in Dornoch.

You really can't get a better hostess than Evie — in our office we are partnerships with visit Scotland so have had many a good year with Evie and omg the comments we get back are amazing about her. From the minute you walk in the door it begins — your magical, friendly, kind and helpful stay in her B&B. She really does a great job and everyone comes back to her. Well worth booking guys she's the best! Xx.

My golf trip to Scotland was one of the highlights of my life. Some wonderful courses for reasonable rates. Royal Dornoch was one of the more expensive courses my friend and I played and I had high expectations. I was very disappointed. Everywhere else we played in Scotland (including the Old Course in St. Andrews) it seemed the custom that we played either as a twosome or were asked if we would like someone to join us. Not so here. As we were about to tee off we were told by the starter that there would be someone joining us. If asked, I would have probably said yes — but it would have been nice to at least have had the option. Also, there seemed to be a bit of a mixup and an expectation that we would play with caddies. I had previously declined invitations to reserve a caddie, first when I booked online, next by the parking lot attendant, and finally by the clerk in the proshop. I am an 8 handicap and had done a fair bit of research on the course — although difficult, it didn't seem impossible to decipher. Nonetheless, when we got to the 1st tee, the starter claimed that he had it down on his clipboard that we had reserved caddies and he seemed somewhat inconvenienced when I told him no. Our newfound playing partner did take a caddie, however. I was rather surprised when this caddie refused to shake my hand and introduce himself on the 1st tee.
