This hotel is a death trap fire doors beeing blocked plug sockets with bare wires, flooring not fitted correctly no insurance certificate on show no fire escape plans in room Hotel manager rude and unhelpful asked about breakfast as advertised on there web page to be told extra £5.50 each. Was charged £125 for room that advertised for £55 asked for refund only to be asked to leave hotel. When refused police were called and agreed that we had been ripped off. To top it off no parking space available and I am registered disabled only to be told plenty of room in the street.

Only a short walk from the railway station down a well lit road, I was greeted by a courteous Frenchman who checked me in and I deposited my luggage in my huge spotless room, I had sole use of a double bed and sleep was so easy as I had stayed out late until gone midnight both nights. Breakfast was continental or cereal. I had croissants for both breakfasts of my 2 night stay and they were lovely. Power shower in the bathroom was excellent and very easy to use. Would I return? Yes. In a heartbeat.

I loved this hotel, it had an incredibly homely feel and provided an experience quite unique to hotels. It was all finished to a very high standard and the rooms were cosy and comfortable, they came with a large TV and excellent shower. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Signal on TV not working. Room the size of a shoe box staff were invisible. Had an early start at weekend would have paid for a breakfast but was not given the option.

Nice bed comfortable stay but bad signal on television, radiator in room not working, very small rooms.

Rooms are nice we had have our room moved because the first night we got there it was late and they had given us the wrong room. Very nice people. Parking is limited.

Looking forward to staying in hotel will give a honest review.

Very good price, rooms are clean and of a good size. The staff are very friendly and polite. Some lovely furnishings in the communal rooms. My only real complaint would be the noise leaking through the walls, but that's to be expected in a place like this.

Stayed here a few times. It's fine and warm and handy for catching a plain.

If I could give less than one star I would. This hotel is disgusting! The hallways smelled of urine, the bedroom was a matchbox, there was mould everywhere. Being a family room I had thought it might be in a decent state of play but I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. We were booked in for 2 nights but left after the first and were not offered any refund/compensation or even given an apology for the state of the room!

Very handy little place to stop off on the way to or from airport. 2 minutes from railway station which has an airport shuttle bus service. Good quality accommodation with very comfortable beds.

Convenient from airport. Quite cold and noisy. Clean rooms.

Could not accomodate 7.5 asked to move despite getting it into carpark staff ok could be more friendly room nice and clean good for work lodgings.

The room was tiny and the bathroom door only opened part way because of the sink behind it. We ended up cleaning the bathroom ourselves so that we felt "clean" using it and what I would describe as crud came out of the shower drain which was full of hair and grime. The sink plug was the same. We had about 2 hours sleep due to eye and throat irritation. On packing next day I checked under the bed to ensure we had not missed anything to find months of dust, debris and a dirty sock. No wonder I had to call to Asda for anti histamine tablets. We checked out after 1 night of a 4 night stay and we ran straight to a Premier Inn. The lack of facilities wouldnt matter if it was clean. If I could give it a minus star rating I would have done. Very disappointed.

Small but cosy and comfy room, nice bar on site. Decent breakfast and good, friendly staff.

Rooms were nice bit small but don't need massive room only to sleep in. Nice staff to talk to very friendly and helpful. In middle of renovation but still very nice and comfy.

I Loved it. Stayed there last summer and it was really nice. The owner and all the staff are lovely. Good food, brilliant location and nice and cosy accommodation. Will return.

I had an absolutely, wonderful time at the Boreland Lodge. The staff were cheerful when I walked through the door and were kind enough to give me a guided tour of the hotel. They have a bar which is a great place to sit down for an end of the day drink, sometimes it may be quiet but the bartender is always a laugh! The location is a stones throw away from Edinburgh with only a train or bus ride away. Great Staff.

Had a great stay at the Boreland Lodge. It was very accessible both from the airport (by bus) and also from Edinburgh city centre, with the Inverkeithing station being only 5 minutes around the corner from the hotel — great since I was lugging my bags after a day of travelling! The room was cosy, comfortable and had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are some lovely walks nearby — along the Fife Coastal route or over near South Queensferry. And it was great to be able to come back and chill out in the bar and lounge with a cup of tea or drink after a day of exploring. All in all, a lovely trip. I will be back to visit when I return Scotland.

I had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay at Boreland Lodge. The lodge is situated in a unique area close to shops and public transport, which makes exploring the town of Edinburgh very affordable. Staff were helpful as I was on a tight budget and were only to eager to help with any questions I had. It was nice after a day of adventuring to come back to the Lodge bar for a cold beer and home cooked meal. Will visit again when I am back in Scotland.

An ok place to stay the night. Paid about fifty pounds for a very small room, ensuite bathroom. The latter was quite nice actually. Breakfast was ok. The walls are really thin it seems, if you have neighbours you will here them quite well.

But went downhill from there. Shower was filthy, had to buy my own detergent to clean before I would even use it, not that I did as we never had anything but cold water. Shoud have been told if wew weren't going to have a real chamber made would have made our own bed. Just very strange location, type of buildings, added on to a nice looking building fromt the front. Only thing was it's 5 mintue walk to the train station. If it had have been cleaner we wouldn't have left 2 days earlier than our booking still paying for the whole stay.
