Excellent visit from start to finish. The package we had as a coach trip was excellent value for money. The food we received was very good quality and everybody on the table throughly enjoyed it all.

The murder overnight stay brilliant the actors were so good great to laugh again after two years of COVID bar staff waitressing service spacious rooms will certainly return.

Just returned from an amazing Murder Mystery weekend, the Fifth Horsemen Productions were brilliant, so funny, thanks guys for two hilareous shows. Many thanks to your wonderful staff whom were all very helpful, friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble, thank you so kindly to everyone involved from our booking, great communication throughout. Your hotel was spotless and having maid service was a lovely added bonus. The food was delicious plus plenty, highly recommended x.

Went for turkey and tinsel 4days in November fantastic time lovely hotel room was lovely then we went back for burns night in January fantastic evening staff r very friendly would recommend anyone to go you won’t be disappointed thank you to all the staff for making r stay enjoyable xx.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Dinner was amazing and the entertainment in the bar at night was very good. The murder mystery event with fifth horseman productions was amazing. Great interaction with the crowd My partner and I laughed from start to finish. We would definitely come back for another mystery.

We have been a few times came in for lunch this weekend. It was dead one TV on couldnt hear it. No back ground music asked for other TV on, was told someone would come do it, they didnt. Lovely fire … wasnt on. Was cold, zero atmosphere to the point it was uncomfortable. Had lunch and a few drinks couldnt fault staff or food but … I've been to livleier funerals. Please give people a little bit of background music. Its xmas lol felt like a hospital waiting room I'm not asking for a rave … even lift music would be better than silence.

Stayed last night the room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel has plenty hand sanitizers around. Staff are very nice and we will definitely go back.

Fantastic hotel, stayed last night after some walking, very COVID secure with lots of hand sanitiser about and very clearly marked out, staff were all lovely and nothing was too much trouble, food was amazing too, well done to all and look forward to coming back soon.

The service was amazing, food was awesome, and the whole place was well run, and properly sanitized.

First, the location is great. Wonderful little town with shops and pubs.
Second, the food! Oh my goodness! Breakfast in the morning is delicious. The venison is the best I have ever had. As well as the leek and potato soup.
Third, the staff is the friendliest around.
Lastly, it will always be the place we will go to each time we are in Scotland.

Just stayed a night at the Winnock. Absolutely brilliant night. Rugby was on when we arrived. Atmosphere was great. Staff were so helpful. Food was delicious. Room was huge. And there was entertainment. A young guy called Ewen Russell sand a mix of songs. He was fantastic. And was such a reasonable price. Definitely be going back.

Excellent this is our second Christmas visit and apart from the minor changes it offers the same friendly atmosphere.

Our third time here. We enjoy the entertainment and the piping in of the haggis. Thie food is great and staff helpful and friendly.

Have stayed here recently, first class service from start to finish, rooms clean and tidy and the food Superb. Staff friendly and really helpful.

Second visit room ok noisy over looked court yard and bed very uncomfortable with springs poking through mattress.
Was told by room staff that mattress are being replace but our room not done yet.
We requested quite room on booking. But staff used court yard from kitchens to have there breaks.

They only look after the coach partys they are not friendly staff at all. Totally spoiled our holiday and my daughters 18th birthday were even quite arrogant in their attitude towards us and didnt even bother to reply to an email,

This little treasure of a hotel in Drymen is absolutely gorgeous, it's warm, comfortable beds, immaculately clean and the food is out of this world and the staff are fabulous, it's well worth a visit… definitely 10/10

Went a mid week stay to get a few days break. First time visiting the hotel and loved everything about it. The staff were fantastic, and could not have been any more helpful or nicer. The food was amazing. Really good quality scottish food. So good, we decided to book an extra night in the hotel resturaunt instead of going elsewhere. I usually moan about something, but had not one complaint. Really good if your looking for a countryside break. Attached some photos of the food to show how good it is presented.

Stayed here on Saturday 23rd March for my wife's birthday and everything was fantastic, staff were great and the murder mystery was amazing this place and the show is a hidden treasure also the singer in the bar afterwards topped off one of the best little breaks away … will definitely be returning soon to do it again! Well done guys.

Was at a party in The Winnock hotel last night it was shocking! Service was disgraceful, food was disgusting, drink was even worse no Diet Coke! So flat Coke was served in our drinks everyone of us threw our drinks away and as for the staff they don't have a clue! My soft drink was served to me in a wine glass my friend got her drink served in 2 small glasses because the bar man could fit it in the one glass? Eh try getting a proper glass for the drink ordered And they wonder why locals don't go there.

I together with about 30 others had high tea at the hotel yesterday, 28th August. We were more than disappointed with the hotel. To start with six of the right people at my table had to have their cups replaced as they were not clean eg. Lipstick on it. I should have explained that we were a group from Falkirk branch of Parkinson's UK. On return to the coach I was informed by the group of their bitter disappointment they had with their meals not one person who had the fish or steakpie enjoyed it. The people who had salad, I think there was four of us enjoyed our meal. I_m not sure if we were supposed to have cakes as none were forthcoming. I phoned to Bryan's coaches this morning to inform them of our disappointment as at was they who booked our meals with you. A bad end to a good day. Rating has to be poor J. Bryce Chairperson.

There are time travel! Here you could travel 50 years into the past. There is probably a backlog of renovations here.
The shower was really exciting.
However, the service was nice.
Luckily we only had 2 nights, and the restaurants in the immediate vicinity (50 to 100 meters) were great.

This hotel was cute. Comfortable room, we onluly stayed one night but it really was a comfortable stay. They have a TV in the bath that I wish worked but other than that, the service in the restaurant was friendly both for dinner and breakfast. The food on the menu is really great quality. The steak and ale pie is unbelievable. Really tasty.

We only had a meal here a couple of times. As far as the food goes I'd highly recommend this place. Staff are friendly and efficient too.

Good hotel for a night's stop. Basic room but large and clean. The pub serves good dinners. Only regret the breakfast service far too long and buffet very quickly empty. Allow time for breakfast…

Charming Hotel in the town square with several historic pubs nearby. Only a short ride to Loch Lomond, room was clean and new bathroom very nice. Food was typical Scottish Fair, table service was first rate. Hikers would enjoy conic Hill or for the ambitious, Ben Lomond.

Friendly, decent beer given the location and the lack of opportunity for high turnover. In other words they do a decent pint but if you want lots of choice of good beer, go elsewhere. But if what you want is a good beer to go with your meal, this should do nicely.

We felt very comfortable. After we search for some also found the parking Lot. The Woman at the Reception was very nice and we liked the Room very much. All a little quaint and rustic which makes up the Charm of the House.
Since the Scottish Weather was still a bit undercooled in May, even the open Fireplace was on, giving the whole thing a nice Touch.

I find it incomprehensible how this hotel gets the good rating?
We had a worn and dirty room. The kettle in the room had a totally soiled filter. So that I could even boil water I removed the filter and had the hope that the room service will provide cleaning.
By because of, the filter was simply reinstated. All in all, a terrible hotel.

Dropped in for a swift one after a day on the hills. Set back off the road at a small village green. The place had nice tradition look the outside. Inside it was fresh, cosy and inviting. The service and prices were fine. As we didn't eat I can't comment but what I saw looked good.

Overall a good visit the food and room were very good. The service at breakfast and dinner could have been better not the staff's fault, just too many guests for the staff to cope with.

The room was quite big and comfortable. As was the bathroom. The booked room was specifically wheelchair accessible, which meant appliances in the bathroom were made for that purpose. A bit hard to use if not in a wheelchair. Slight signs of use (water damage on the ceiling) Breakfast was included and Scottish. Tea was fine.

Lovely experience at the winnock, me and my girlfriend done a murder mystery overnight stay and it was hilarious! Lovely dinner followed by a murder mystery, then we enjoyed the bar. Hotel room was modern and spacious and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Breakfast was included the next day too before the reveal of 'whodunnit' 10/10 would go back again!

Nice hotel in a little village. Lots of efficient, friendly staff. VERY good meals — just served a little late for our tastes (7:30 pm). Clean rooms.

Not bad. But the rooms were not perfect. Dirty, stained carpet. Cobwebs, twisted lamps. Huge hallways. The service in the room is scarce. It's confusing. The hotel is huge and hard to manage.

Looks lovely from the outside. However… The rooms (the ones I saw) look like they haven't been decorated since the 80's. The one I stayed in (single) was absolutely tiny despite paying the same amount of money as couples, who all enjoyed a far more spacious and comfortable room. Everyone else from the party had a bath in their suite. I had just a shower. The central heating was faulty. The radiators filled to about one fifth of their capacity and gurgle and squelched the whole time, which was annoying when trying to sleep. The food was average. The staff were there. Nuff said! And the entertainment was sparse. A bit of Scottish dancing on Friday night and then some bagpipes etc Saturday. The trip was sold as all inclusive only to find that your all inclusive drinks were available during a three hour window. Two city excursions were offered. One to Edinburgh and the next day to Glasgow. I felt like I'd had my legs cut off and just left to hang about in the hotel all day and night.
That said. It was a cheap weekend and I guess you get what you pay for… (Tour operator — Ogden's Travel)

Room was nice staff very friendly but the price paid for bed and breakfast was not value for money. Dinner was basic, breakfast had two undercooked eggs on it with soggy black pudding and haggis. There was no milk in the jug. My partner had lipstick on her breakfast juice glass, clearly the dish washer must be malfunctioning.

What a beautiful hotel, all staff very friendly. Food very good rooms warm and inviting. Will go back again in summer.

Old world charm and cosy rooms. Grateful for the bar and restaurant on site as we were tired after the long drive down the Great Glen way.

Very nice stay there nice and comfortable. Also while saying there I was ill and nothing was too much trouble they brought food up to our room and staff was very helpful.

Very very very bad service. We waited for over an hour and a half for our food, in the end we walked out. We asked where our food was? They said it wouldn’t be long, but didn’t seem too bothered. Half an hour later, still no food! Two other tables got their food before us who had came in after us. The staff who delt with us weren’t bothered at all. Had to resort to a microwaveable meal.

Was clean, rooms maybe a bit on the basic side. Great shower. Had one of the best fish suppers ever here. Breakfast was fine. Great value for money but there are better hotels in the area albeit you might pay a wee bit more.

Friendly hotel with excellent staff, a good menu and bar. I would have liked to see Strongbow cider, but other than that the bar was well stocked.

Friendly front desk staff, but this hotel was so strange. This hotel is like a maze! I couldn't even walk you through the path we took to get to our room, but there were a few stairwells (both up and down), several doorways, a couple of corners and multiple hallways. It was so confusing every time. We had a room in the very back with a very odd floor plan. We booked a double room with a cot for our infant son. They put us in a room with a queen size bed AND a twin size bed, along with the cot. Why we had a room with a twin size bed in it, I have no idea. Because of all these beds, we had very little room to move around. When not in use, we had to move the cot behind the door just to be able to walk around. We passed several rooms that had simply one king size bed and a desk and a chair or two with plenty of place for the cot, but for some reason, we did not get one of these rooms (strange). There was also a small section of the hotel that had clearly been updated — again, not our room! Both the queen size bed and the twin bed were old and worn out — clearly sinking on both sides and extremely uncomfortable. Very little sleep was had in this hotel and we were very uncomfortable in the morning. Breakfast was good, but wait staff was unfriendly.

I was at the Winnock Hotel for A Murder Mystery Night. The room we booked was a double superior and the room was lovely, warm and the bathroom was really nice but I must say the windows in the room were not the best. There was quite a large gap so when we arrived we had to close the curtains. This was room 82. The food at night was lovely but the breakfast was complete disaster. One of the ladies in our company had 5 goes arrived today getting her breakfast right. It then arrived and it was cold. All I asked for was bacon and potato scone, they were both cold.

The hotel is located in Drymen Square, which is a pleasant small village location. I was at the hotel bar for a few drinks, as I have done over the last few evenings. The bar is pleasant and serves a reasonable selection of food. Service can be a bit patchy. Tonight 4 people that came in after me were served before me as I waited at the bar. In recent nights, I have also had to call the barman to serve other clients who arrived at the bar unnoticed as he chatted to other guests. The hotel is popular with coach tours and at times it can feel a bit like you are in an old folks home. However, tonight it is rather chilly outside and for the first time in the last 2 weeks, the logs AVE burning away very nicely in the fireplace.

Large and clean room in typical country style, unfortunately rattled until just before midnight some generator and disturbed very much by falling asleep, also smelt it somewhat after moisture covered by space spray. Breakfast very good, partly unfortunately uninspired staff who seemed overwhelmed with the service, which was also due to the fact that two coaches had to have breakfast at the same time.

Excellent location with good parking facilities. Staff most helpful and very friendly. Food excellent cannot be faulted.

Stopped by on way from doing the Ben Lomond trek. Would recommend the Mexican burger. Best burger I have tasted in a long time. Friendly staff does it justice too.

Went to the bar for a quick meal. Bar was packed due to the rugby being gone but the bar staff were great and the service quick. The food arrived quickly once ordered and was of great quality. Would be back if up that way again.

I visited with my family for a 5 day new year stay booked through Edwards. We had booked the trip a year in advance and we were all eagerly anticipating our new year break. Especially, having followed the hotel on Facebook for the year and hearing all about their renovations and redecorating the room. I'm afraid to say that the anticipation and glow stopped at the door to our room. The room was very small, cold and draughty and we did not have a hot shower during our 5 day stay, a problem that many of our fellow holiday — goers reported of but nothing was done about. We complained to reception on many occasions who informed us that the problem had been checked by maintenance and they could find no fault. Scotland is cold — particularly at this time of year so we were returning to the hotel everyday wanting only a hot shower to warm up but this was never to happen! The rooms are not appropriate for a 3* hotel. The inconsistencies in the rooms throughout the hotel are not acceptable, especially when you are all paying the same price. We had wonky shelves that you couldn't even put your tooth brush on as they would fall off, a broken toilet roll holder and a shower door that did not close fully. The only positive to the room was the bed which was comfortable and the fact that the door locked. The management need to invest in improving the standards of remaining rooms rather than building new ones.

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a group on a Turkey & Tinsel Holiday. I was most impressed with the size and comfort of our bedroom. It was warm and very cosy. The bathroom was clean and there were complimentary toiletries. The staff are very good and could not be more helpful it they tried. Excellent food and very reasonable bar prices. All round an excellent stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Nipped in here to the Ptarmigan Bar for a quick spot of lunch only to find the hotel and bar rammed because of a christening. Not to be deterred we found a seat and grabbed menus. I went to the bar and ordered drinks and a couple of sandwiches, which were taken quickly and efficiently, and returned to my seat with an open tab and our drinks. Not long after this, our sandwiches arrived, fresh and well presented. The salad was tasty and well seasoned. All round, quick service and pleasant, attentive staff. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay once again. The food is fantastic, Great local meats and the staff really seem to know what they are serving. The restaurant girls could even tell us which farm the beef had come from. We ate in the bar on the 2nd night. Both of us went for the venison pie. It was mouthwateringly tender and tasted fantastic. The hand cut chips were as good as I have had anywhere. Loved sitting in front of the log fire in the bar. It was very welcome after being out in the snow. We have stayed here 4 times now. Our last room was number 39, which is supposed to be haunted. The only spirits we saw were in bottles. Can't recomment this place highly enough.

We were part of a tour of Scotland two nights in this House. The hotel makes from outside a good impression. Inside, it is already very worn out. The room incl. Bath o. Were K. Since we directly at the entrance to supplier or Have slept in the Cateringausgang ended the night at 6 00 or Has started around 22 30. What is still a very clean room ceiling, passed to the inhabitants mercilessly kick sounds. The pub and the service were good. Breakfast middle class.

No ersatz touristic charm here. The historic inn, obviously once the hub of Drymen, now caters for every need of the modern traveller. ‘Service’ is clearly the watchword for the young and enthusiastic staff, who support a superb kitchen. No more than 45 mins drive from Glasgow, an ideal base to explore Loch Lomond and Trossachs….

My wife and I stayed to nights at the Winnock in September 2012. The exterior is quite pleasant and the interior very interesting. It has a large extension at the rear in which we had a room. The room was well appointed and made the stay enjoyable. Breakfasts were standard traditional style. In general, the staff were helpful and pleasant. We had a bar meal on the first which was well made and pleasant to eat, in the company of some unpleasant Dutch tourists, which was not the fault of the hotel. The main dinner menu, we thought, a little expensive so the following night we went next to door to the Clannach. Having said that, we would go back again.

We went here for a bar meal which was simple scottish food, Steak Pie and Haggis, it looked great on the website but the reality was a bit different. The steak pie had awful pastry though the meat was quite nice but it has the look of something that had been frozen 10 minutes earlier. The vegetables were not cooked and the chips were average. The haggis was quite pleasant but nothing to write home about. The bar was dirty, everything you touched was sticky. The staff though pleasant enough seemed lacking in any notion of providing service. Dont go here, its in a great location and it could be a jewel of a place if run properly but intil they get their act together and become able to provide good fresh food, stay away.
