Historic castle with excellent friendly service. Beautifully decorated rooms. Stay not rushed.

Gillian has gone above and beyond in making my parents stay incredible. My dad is unfortunately ill and Gillian made sure he well looked after and was very helpful.

Lovely meal with the loveliest staff. Well recommend.

Such a beautiful and gorgeous hotel, we came after our ceremony and although it was only for one night it was a perfect romantic bubble to the point we wished we hadn’t bothered going to Dublin and stayed there for the time! Food amazing, library fantastic place to sit.

Food in the dining room is outstanding, Quality, unbelievable sets the taste buds alight with every dish

Beautiful grounds, the gardens, right by the river, peacocks strutting about and sitting amongst it all just chilling out 😎 Just stayed for one night but thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was tremendous and really appreciate the staff looking out for our dog in the heat 👍

The dinner was wonderful and the service matched that quality.
The rooms were delightful. Mine looked out onto a pretty garden. Very private.
Everyone and everything was memorable. From the well trained staff to the resident peacocks. The spreading gardens to the rushing river.

We have had our first Afternoon tea here although we nave often had lunch and dinner Lovely experience today beautiful surroundings inside and outside calm restful away from it all ambience pleasant engaging staff who wer attentive and not overpowering All in all a lovely experience. The wonderful atmosphere, large fire places in comfortable rooms and lounges. Rooms are very comfortable with large luxurious beds. Food is excellent served by friendly and helpful staff.

Myself & Partner attended a wedding on 22nd September 2018. This place is absolutely stunning from top to bottom The staff were so amazing attending to our needs with delicious food & most gorgeous rooms with beautiful peacocks running around & looking through the windows we would definitely be back again for a overnight stay Thankyou x.

This place couldn't be any nicer or elegant. Very green and quiet in the centre of such a beautiful place. Every room of the place is very tastefully decorated and taken care of. The staff are very nice, helpful and attentive. The bar… Now the bar was extortionate, glass of prosecco and a pint £12.50… shameless. In any case, this didn't kill the fun and I had a wonderful time.

After many days scouring the Internet we decided on this place and we weren't disappointed. Fantastic place to stay, friendly staff, especially Adam who upgraded us free of charge. There was so much detail in the place that gives this place real character. The grounds were something else, I could have meandered around all day.

We had the most wonderful wedding experience at Roman Camp and could not have imagined a more perfect day! Staff were brilliant, being both attentive and operating behind the scenes. The hotel was stunning and perfect for our intimate ceremony in the Library, with drinks and canapés on the lawns. We were so spoilt for choice on locations for photographs that we exhausted our poor photographer! The food was great and the whole feel relaxed but special. It is true that the interior isn’t modern but it suits the building very well. Thank you to everyone at Roman Camp for making our day so special!

My partner and I attended a summer wedding reception and stayed overnight at Roman Camp and the whole experience was incredible. The aesthetics and service were outstanding. Food was 5 stars, rich but not too heavy, and catered to all dietary restrictions while sticking close to the original menu. Our room was classically adorned with modern amenities and all of the Hotels services were easy to access. We would absolutely recommend for anyone planning a formal event!

Unfortunately, the hotel did not live up to our expectations, and certainly not to what could be expected for the price. Gardens are amazing, location is central, and the building is old and impressive on the outside. Inside, however, it is quit dark — with an air of a museum and similar atmosphhere. Both rooms we had could do with renovation, they smelled old and stuffy, carpet should be changed, showers are okay but not first class, and overall feeling was "needs an urgent make-over". Staff are helpful but overall somewhat distanced and reserved (with notable exceptions of the caretaker and one waitress), which was quite a contrast to the warm and openly friendly welcomes we had in other places. Would not stay there again.

Excellent well looked after. The dog Duke was made at home with a garden room.

What a lovely country house hotel. You must be in the old part of the house for the best rooms. Food is fab!

Delightful find, full of character, nooks & crannies, remember it's an old property (going back to 1600 hundreds). Furniture in bedroom is a little dated but kind of goes with the hotel. It's a lovely location for a walk along the river Teith or into Callander. Friendly, attentive staff & excellent food either for a light lunch, meal in the bar or one of the other lovely rooms, or dinner in the restaurant, even a coffee & scones was well presented.

A country house hotel that certainly offers a luxurious experience. The trip started well when the staff upgraded us to the Barrie Suite. Everyone was attentive and personable and the Edwardian ambience of the public rooms offered a warm and sumptuous environment. Seats close to the roaring fires are at a premium though. The five course tasting menu was well balanced and enjoyable. The grounds are lovely and my dog and I enjoyed some strolls, although she panicked the resident peacocks onto the rooftops. All told, expensive but good value in that it delivers luxury with a sense of grace and charm.

Great place for afternoon tea and scones. Homemade shortbread is very good.

We had a nostalgic visit back here for our 14th wedding Anniversary. We still remember our fantastic day here at Roman Camp for our wedding which was the most beautiful day. The staff are still as attentive and friendly and the place has t changed a bit which I was so happy about. The open fires and candles add to the ambiance. I can’t recommend it enough, wonderful, beautiful stunning place.

We stumbled upon this place while heading to oban it was very welcoming staff very attentative we had soup and sandwiches that were very well served and presented would highly reccomend to anyone looking for a quiet place to stop for lunch but looks very great place for a meal.

I can't express how much I love this place and how much it will always mean to me and hubby. We had the best day getting married here and from start to finish it was just beautiful and perfect. Thanks to all the amazing staff and the owners for what they done and for joining in on our special day. Everyone that I have seen has said ach what a place that was amazing memories made here and would recommend to anybody, if you want a perfect family wedding do it at the Roman Camp! Thanks again it was simply stunning.

A lovely place to relax and escape for a while. The staff are very professional they always seem to appear when you need them. The food is very high quality and they cater for individual needs such as gluten free.

Beautiful old building with stunning grounds, some of the best food I've ever eaten as well. Definitely be back.

We stumbled upon this place by accident. On our way from Edinburgh to Glencoe and decided we needed a lunch break. Son used GPS to find the nearest place, which was Roman Camp. We were greeted by peacocks and eventually found our way to the restaurant. We were seated in a cute room (conservatory? ) with windows overlooking the garden. It was quiet and different since we were sitting on sofas and stuffed chairs. We had sandwiches and ciders and chatted. It was cozy and nice. Everyone enjoyed it. After we finished, we explored the lovely grounds and saw more peacocks before resuming our drive. A lovely break. The hotel seems a magical place for a wedding. Would definitely stay there if given the opportunity.

We have visited the Roman camp hotel a few times for grand afternoon tea, and it's never disappointed. Beautiful surroundings, very helpful, friendly staff and delicious sandwiches, savouries and sweets. We've never finished the lot. We're tempted to keep it to ourselves, but it just wouldn't be fair.

We had another fabulous stay at the Roman Camp Hotel! The meals have been superb and the staff, service was 1st Class — can't wait for our next visit!

This is our second time staying in the hotel and we love everything about it, we love the room, the food, the services and the overall experience.

The hotel itself is spacious and lovely, situated very nearby a picturesque riverside. We were there for a wedding, which was very well catered. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent and creative. I thought it was a lovely experience, made much better by the location.

Stayed for 2 nights B&B and dined one evening for the set meal on offer. Food and service were of the highest standard cannot be faulted. Seriously, silver service with Michelin star worthy food. Lovely grounds and great location. Not sure when I was last refurbished but our room was starting to need attention. However this in no way detracted from the comfort or enjoyment of our stay. We will be back.

Friendly staff, clean rooms cleaned daily, nice breakfast although the breakfast room could do with some background music. The lounge rooms were especially relaxing and inviting. Overall a great hotel.

Beautiful wedding venue with ceremony at the riverside and drinks on the lawn (attended as a guest). The food was simply divine and the drinks were plentiful.

I have just spent a lovely weekend with my elderly parents at the Roman Camp Hotel. The service was excellent as was the food & standard throughout the hotel. It made a lovely weekend that more special. Will definitely make a return visit.
