We dropped in for an unplanned lunch with the dog. They were welcoming and gave us a table with room for the dog. Lovely, Christmassy and relaxing. Good choice of food and orders were taken promptly. Water was brought for the dog. Food was excellent, tasty and hot. Definitely recommend here and will come back again soon.

Had lunch, 2 adults and 2 children and a large dog and were made to feel so welcome, not only did we get a table with a large space between table and wall for the dog to curl up in, they brought out a bowl of water for her. Lunchtime menu for adults and children was good, really enjoyed it and happy to recommend.

Thank you so much for booking 11 of us in at such short notice. We had such a lovely evening. The food was beautiful.

Helpful, friendly staff. We had a light lunch with soup and sandwiches which were all delicious. Clean, well presented hotel.

We went to the Cross Keys for a family meal to celebrate our sons 6th birthday. Great menu choices and delicious food! Staff very friendly and helpful and the restaurant area felt very safe and the space allowed for easy social distancing! A lovely relaxed restaurant experience.

My son had his wedding at the Cross Keys Hotel. They made the day very special and the wedding meal & buffet were second to none. We stayed overnight and our room was very comfortable.

Local cycling club called in today, we were soaked and filthy but staff didn’t turn us away, they got their bin bags out to accommodate us. Big thank you, we all enjoyed coffee and scones.

Steak n ale pie didn't disappoint. The meat was lovely and tender. Thanks for a delicious meal. Xx.

Fantastic Hogmanay, great food and quality service.

Last night we were in the Dickson room for a meal with family for our Golden.
Wedding Anniversary. The food was utterly delicious with everyone commenting.
How moist the chicken was and the steak pies were the best they’d had. Thank.

We had a lovely lunch in a comfortable dog friendly area. The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

First time in Cross Keys for breakfast. Bacon roll and coffee was lovely. The staff are also lovely and cant do enough for you.

Nice staff most weeks we go in.

We got married here a few weeks ago. The manager Liz Dyet was so helpful from start to finish. All guests commented that it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever had, even those from further afield who’d never tried haggis before. Cannot thank Liz and staff enough. Highly Recommend.

Comfortable rooms but bathroom could do with a refurbishment. Breakfast selection was good but English breakfast dishes were lukewarm.

Love the atmosphere here. Drinks and food very good priced. We sat outside whilst visiting on our holidays and we came back 3 times as the ambience and prices were great. Lovely and clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Loved my holiday in Kelso hotel was great staff couldn't do enough for us room was lovely and clean and plenty off room to take our mobility scooter into our bedroom to charge them and still plenty of room for us to move about The Cross keys hotel gets a 5 star from me thank you.

Nice and quiet for a relaxing weekend. Room small but comfortable. Meals good with full Scottish breakfast and nice evening meal menu with local ingredients.

The meals are fantastic, the staff are friendly and on a Thursday night there's folj music played in the lounge bar area.

An old hotel with some charm that needs a little TLC. The water pressure in the shower was extremely low and couldn't maintain a good temperature. The food is fine but not to a high standard. However there is a good selection of whiskeys at the bar. There is parking outside. Has a wheelchair accessible entrance.

Friendly, clean, large rooms even in standard. Good choice at breakfast. Ideally situated. Perfect.

Went to Kelso Folk Club. Also had lunch here a couple of years ago. All good. Hand pulled beer choices are a bit limited but the place is clean and tidy with a comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff.

Central. No official car park but public car park onsite. Good breakfast. Child friendly.

Been for a meal here on numerous occasions and never disappointed. The staff are very polite and efficient and at no time do you feel any urgency to select from the menu or leave the bar to go to the restaurant. Thanks to all your staff for a great meal, fantastic service and a lovely relaxing evening.

Great lunch in the Oak Room with great food and service at a very reasonable price. Menu is good and plenty of choices.

Good location on The Square. No traffic passing by as overlooks the car park. Friendly staff. Restaurant and bar available, and breakfasts also at small extra cost. Interesting shops nearby, and close to the ruins of the Abbey and the River Tweed. Basic, and comfortable hotel.

Friendly, relaxed, spotless! We ate here too and the food was well cooked, generous portions and a varied menu. We had a wonderful stay!

A beautiful restaurant, with absolutely terrific staff who went out of their way to be pleasant Food was excellent with lots of choice.

My parents have been there twice in the space of a week with different company both times. And both times they were very disappointed in the quality of food and service. I never like giving a bad review esp for somewhere like the cross keys with it’s good reputation but unfortunately it ruined the night of my parents and their guests. Lasagna””. A pile of mince with a sheet of cheesy pasta on top. A cheesecake which looked like a pre packed jelly. Not only that but a waitress dropped food on a guests coat. Said sorry and walked away. Never offered to clean it up never reported it to a senior member of staff and was just very rude. Just all round bad experience.

Lovely borders hotel with very friendly staff. Prices were reasonable for a hotel of this type. Ate lunchtime in bar and food was freshly made and all cooked in the hotel. Had Sunday carvery and this was great value, as well as very tasty. Well worth a visit when in Kelso.

Booked in last minute but found accomodation clean, food great and staff very friendly. Would stay again.

Lovely old hotel… the staff very friendly and helpful, room was very clean… location is ideal for exploring Kelso.

Had a fabulous meal here tonight! Really glad we are staying here and now looking forward to tomorrow night's meal! Lovely rooms for all of us too.

It is a very friendly hotel. The only thing is they have a lift to the bedrooms but no facility for disabled people getting to the function suite but the staff were helpful to get us there being at a wedding yesterday but had to be taken through the kitchen which is not ideal. I think they should try and make it more disabled friendly. Apart from that very happy.

Stayed here at the weekend for one night whilst cycling from Newcastle to Edinburgh. Got dinner, bed and breakfast. The receptionist was friendly and approachable, the barman was friendly as were the waitresses. The food was excellent at dinner and so was breakfast. There was somewhere to keep the bikes and on leaving on Sunday morning we were given a snack bar and banana for our rides. It's small touches that make a difference. I will definitely recommend staying here.
