We had the pleasure of staying here on sat 5th November… Everything about this hotel. Was just perfect… The service we received was top class. The food was absolutely delicious and all the staff were so helpful and friendly… We definitely will book in to Bishops Gate Hotel soon again. Anne Kearns.

First time being in bishops Gate and what can I say… just perfect. We were there for our wedding anniversary and were upgraded to the penthouse! wow! did not even want to leave it. The staff were super friendly and accomadating went above and beyond to make our stay special. dinner was included and the menu was so hard to choose from we went for dishes we havnt eaten before and every morsel was divine. Could not recommend Bishops Gate enough. Cannot wait to go back.

We got married here in 2018, but couldn’t get back because of covid (live in Australia). Finally got home and had a beautiful welcome. Dinner and cocktails excellent service couldn’t recommend more.

Stayed last night 11/6/22. In apartment 3 with friends also in apartment 2. What can is say fantastic staff. What couldn’t do enough for us, even having fun and joking around with us. Amazing When and had dinner in the restaurant 8.30. As a group of girls we where late. But absolutely no bother to then. Food was out of this world. Beautiful isn’t good enough. Even though I was one of them difficult customers about her meal. The chef went above and beyond for me. Can’t recommend here enough. We will difficulty be back Thanks again to the chef and all the staff 5 stars all the way xxx.

Was invited for afternoon tea first time in hotel loved the building inside an out and decor was fantastic afternoon tea was absolutely beautiful and staff were very attentive.

We have eaten at bishop's gate hotel several times, the ambiance is lovely, the food excellent and the staff are always very friendly and attentive.

We had meal for 11 people celebrating 60th birthday celebration. Food and service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Great experience for family meal last night in the private dining room. We have a large family of adults with 5 energetic children, the staff service was excellent and so patient dealing with the large party. Always attentive and patient, Lauren our server had her work cut out for her but she was fantastic! Food was perfect as usual, love coming here for dining as a couple and our family get together. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Where do we start… fabulous hotel We recently had our wedding here and when I say outstanding, I mean outstanding. Nothing was a problem, staff were so attentive, professional and willing to go the extra mile…
The food was phenomenal and our guests are still talking about it. Our room was beautiful, a very high standard, we love it. I need to do a very special mention to Claire our wedding coordinator.
Claire's attention to detail was next to nothing, Claire's professionalism was the perfect balance for her role. Friendly, very approachable and organised everything for us. Claire you made the entire process stress free and the day in question run like clockwork. Thank you so much x.

We were there for a family wedding and were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Reception staff, bar staff, basically everyone made our stay amazing, the rooms were lovely and food was out of this world. Best steak ever! Special thanks to Anita who was an absolute star and looked after us all like we were her family 😊. Wish I could have stayed longer, but I’ll definitely be back!

Just home from a fantastic weekend away with our daughter micheal, Gary and team where brilliant. Reception staff where so patience with our daughter charging her phone and nintendo switch. Food in restaurant was delicious caeser salad is so yummy shared this with my daughter on Friday night we both had it again in the Saturday night. My daughter 11 had fish bites from the kids menu but portion side was like a adult meal and the apple pie and chololate orange desserts where amazing. Restaurant staff Ciaran I think was our server was very kind, helpful as I have allergies he took his time explaining the menu and what I can have and can't breakfast again in restaurant was so hard to choose from the french toast I had to have this plain but the taste was beautiful not dry at all. On leaving Gary let our daughter have a ride on the luggage trolley for her Instagram and took some beautiful photos of us. I dont think 5 stars is enough.

We went for the santa experience and it was amazing room was beautiful staff were spectacular and so friendly made my kids feel so welcome and there santa was so friendly they loved him.

Spent last night at the bishop’s gate hotel for the Santa experience and it was amazing. The staff where so friendly and went out of there way to get us anything we needed. Stephanie at reception is so nice and listened to Cj and Clara talking and telling stories. The Santa who came to our room was brilliant telling them stories and singing with them. Thank yous for a great stay.

First time here, had a great lunch. Great staff, very helpful. Guinness was heaven.

I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help today. They went above and beyond my expectations. Nothing was ever refused. They looked after us so well and helped out where they could as I am a carer and gave me an extra few valuable minutes to eat or sit and relax. Comfortable, well decorated and very comfortable hotel. The staff has been very friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to welcome me to Derry. Just had dinner at the restaurant at Bishop's Gate Hotel; I arrived late and they were able to fit me in for dinner within half an hour. I had the two course meal — selection of delicious bread and local butter for a starter and then the pork medley, which was absolutely one of the best pork meals I've ever had. I added a side of green beans and mash, and they were also excellent and well seasoned. I decided to add on a third course for dessert for later, and the waitress was kind enough to coordinate to have a Sticky Toffee Pudding delivered to my room after I had done some work. I highly recommend the restaurant and hotel if you are in Derry.

We’ve just had an amazing family wedding on Saturday 31 August. The service was outstanding. The hotel itself is top class, furnishings, ambience, rooms etc. The food was to die for. Nothing was too much trouble. Don’t think I’ve ever seen such an extensive vegetarian choice at a function. But the staff are by far the jewel in this crown. Nothing was too much trouble (and we had plenty of requests). And everything done with a smile. Many many thanks for making the day so special. From a happy mother of the bride. Xx.

Such a wonderful hotel. We booked our wedding here on the recommendation of family who had visited the Bishop's Gate Hotel for food and functions. I cannot believe how lucky we are to have enjoyed our special day in the hands of such a fantastic hotel. We had a lovely meal on Saturday night, everything was just prefect. All staff were friendly and nothing was a bother. They explained any queries we had about the menu.

We held an event just lastnight and I can’t speak highly enough about this hotel.

We stayed in the pent house suite which was just so luxurious. A home from home… very tastefully decorated, lovely views of the city and the river …

Beautiful rooms, beautiful dinner and breakfast. The bar had a real buzz about it on Saturday night and the staff couldn’t have done any more for us. Can’t wait to our next time.

Stayed at this hotel on Boxing night and it was perfect from start to finish. We had the kids with us and we were made so welcome! Outstanding all in all, from the staff to the service to the gorgeous decor. We already stayed here before, but will be back very soon. Top class!

Brilliant, I have eaten quite a few times in bishops gate and never had a bad meal, always lovely and the staff are so friendly, especially Amanda and Rebecca, sorry I can't remember the other names, they are all so lovely and friendly and make it so specia, thank you again for a fabulous evening xx.

Lovely place but wouldn't recommend for Sunday lunch. Too long between courses and potatoes were luke warm at best. Took ages to get drink order in. Was not allowed to order drinks at the bar when we came in so had to wait for staff to come to table. More waiting…

We attended for afternoon tea and from the moment we walked in the staff were very welcoming Michael Stephanie and Cara our waitress made sure we had everything. I'll definitely go back.

Really lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Great attention to detail in the decor. The only negative would be that some of the rooms are tight for space but the ensuites make up for It.

We were at the hotel for dinner two Saturday nights ago. Lovely food but what really stood out was the service. A genuine, friendly welcome on arrival, non-fussy care and attention throughout the meal and we stayed for a drink in the bar afterwards and the bar staff could not have been nicer. The hotel embodies all the good things about Derry people. Warm, good craic, friendly and down to earth. Can’t wait to go back.

We had our Wedding at Bishops Gate yesterday (June 21st) and I don't know where to start… Donna & Keith are two of the nicest and hard working individuals we've ever met. They worked tirelessly for us all day. All the staff were remarkable with impeccable service. The Chef and Kitchen team are outstanding, delivering the most delicious and timely food service we've ever had. All the guests raved about the food as "The nicest they've ever tasted". The room and suite were beau…tiful and even down to the tiniest detail everything was perfect!
We were treated incredibly by everyone and are just so happy to have chosen Bishops Gate to celebrate the best day of our lives and it truly was in a very big part thanks to the hotel. We will never be able to thank you all enough, from the bottom of our hearts we are so so grateful to every single staff member who helped make our Wedding the magnificent day it was. Thank you!

Absolutely beautiful hotel, lovely food, choice of Restaurant or Bar to eat in the evenings, the bar is fab we had a few drinks and food which was delicious. Very centrally located. The staff in all sections of the hotel were so good and really friendly, they could not do enough for us. Highly Recomended.

Excellent place staff are so friendly a lady called Kim was brilliant lovely and a gentleman with a beard was friendly very informative about the menu because I am coeliac can't fault it x excellent experience.

Just had afternoon tea with a few friends and it was beautiful from start to finish. The staff are so attentive. The tea was delicious and so much choice. The room upstairs where we were seated was just perfect. I would highly recommend it. Look forward to my next visit.

In my humble opinion simply the best place to eat in Derry. Great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant. Well trained and friendly staff and generally a great experience. A real treat!

Lovely stay, lovely staff. Just a few issues 4 course meal booked but no offer of tea/coffee and wrong side orders, was a long wait. Beautiful breakfast brought in the morning but no milk, sugar, sauce, butter etc. By the time it did arrive we'd eaten. Entertainment did not arrive so no music although advertised.

Fantastic afternoon tea experience with 14 of us enjoying afternoon tea in the ballroom. The food was fresh and tasty and the desserts in particular were fabulous. Service was excellent with Keith. Ben and Conor looking after us. I would highly recommend the hotel for afternoon tea and will definitely be back again.

A lovely evening was marred when I presented gift vouchers. When there was over £20 worth of voucher left there was an issue about giving me this in the form of vouchers. I was offered a bottle of wine instead. It was highly embarrassing to be left standing as I did not want the remainder in wine and had to wait until a manager was consulted with. This put a real dampener on the rest of my evening.

Had a nice lunch here in the wig room. The food was lovely and the decor was really nice and made the place very comfortable to sit in. The staff were brilliant, we were taken care of by Mark who even took the time to explain some if the history of the building. Highly recommend!

Stayed in the excellent, centrally located, boutique hotel with my wife. Wowed to the extent that we returned with our family for a second trip. On Derry's walls, it's right at the heart of the City. Friendly reception, modern rooms, dining room offers 5* breakfast, dinners (good steaks, choice of beers…) and two comfortable bars. Several function rooms, though didn't see them. All staff attentive, friendly. We'll be back again — keep eyes open for offers. Also, a well selected music list.

Good Sunday dinner… service was great. Plush surroundings would recommend and will return. Price was also good.

The staff were very friendly the breakfasts were just mouth watering. We were here for a wedding and everything was just perfect, think the snowball wedding cake became talk of the town we'll be going back for our 1 year wedding anniversary see you next year.

I was sad we only stayed one night! This hotel is amazing. The staff was friendly and so helpful. When we got in from a long day of touring the Antrim coast, Laura got us checked in quickly and got us a table at a restaurant for dinner. The valet parking was reasonable and very convenient. Our room was luxurious, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and delicious with many different options. We would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel, nice room, not the quietest in the world but we slept like babies. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was perfect, the porc rack was really tasty, tender and perfectly cooked. He girl at the reception is kind and helpful.

We were very pleased with this hotel — great location with the most friendly staff I've ever encountered! We came before check in time and they had our bags delivered to our rooms once they were ready (they stored them at the front desk until then). Rooms were spacious and very comfortable with lots of extra amenities. We will stay here again!

My retirement party was held here and I have to say the whole night was perfect. The hotel is in a great location just beside the famous city walls. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms were excellent. The food was brilliant. Thanks to staff for making my night an even better night.

Central location in the city centre. Food was fantastic as was the table service. Staff were all friendly and attentive. The hotel itself was very well presented and clean. Free on-site Wi-Fi. Taxi service direct to the hotel, on request. Only downside is the lack of dedicated parking.
