Such a gorgeous cosy and welcoming place. We came for a drink and food and stayed for quiz, such a lovely atmosphere. We aren't locals but have a caravan nearby and felt so welcome x.

We had the Valentine's dinner yesterday. It was delicious. The beef wellington was melt in the mouth. It seems like a lot of thought went into this meal and it felt like a real treat. Thank you.

Had a really lovely meal we chose the valentine special 2 steaks and Prosecco for £30. The steak was cooked just how I asked and was delicious XX.

Can't say enough about this gorgeous pub. The food is simply amazing we have worked our way through the menu, it's all fabulous. Absolutely love the place.

Just returned from a 4 night break at this community run pub and highly recommend it. Offa’s Dyke is close by so it’s handy for walkers as well as those just wanting a relaxing break. All volunteer staff are friendly and helpful and there is a good selection of food and local craft beers.

We are from AUS and we stopped here on our way
around the UK and Wales. Our room was clean, it had everything we needed and we met some of the locals, they were very friendly and welcoming. Comfortable and reasonably priced. Facepainted all the kids too.

We stayed for two nights at this lovely pub. It is run by the community, who can't do enough for you. The room was spotless, and had it's own kitchen area. We decided to eat in the pub, the food was really good,. The local shop is well stocked, we had a brilliant time, and would definitely recommend.

5 gins 5 courses — what a night! Wonderful food, perfect gin, great service as always.

We stayed over last Friday, had a brilliant day riding the trails at llandegla and was just planning on crashing out here once we got back. Oh no, we got to the bar, got chatting and was made to feel right at home. We ordered some fantastic food and drank far too much in the end! A really lovely place to stay, we will be back. Thanks to all those who made our trip so memorable. PS nip to the shop in the morning, the pasties are amazing!

What a gorgeous place this is! The village setting is a delight, the pub is so central to this village it's OWNED BY THE VILLAGE! We had a room upstairs which was so lovely and exactly as twee as you would want, to match the pub. Had catering facilities, great bathroom, separate seating area with TV. And spotlessly clean. Pub has quiz nights and activities. The food is very popular and looks great but we didn't eat there as it happens on this occasion. Great couples breakaway venue.

Adequate for a one night stay. Probably better outside of the winter months… We stayed on a Monday night, when the pub was closed. There was a problem with the heating and the temperatures were 2°C. There was an electric heater, but it cut out when the temperature was just about comfortable. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had what we needed. As the pub was closed it was really quiet as well — be interesting to know what it was like with a room above the pub on a day when it was open. Wouldn't book again. £55 for the night, hence the 3 star rating — you get what you pay for.

Good beer, nice surroundings in a pub that's nearly 300 years old. A great place!

I had booked this amazing looking place for my daughter and I as we were riding mountain bikes the next day at Llandegla. Unfortunate circumstances with the M6 being closed and other car problems meant we just couldn't make it. The room was non-refundable due to the really good price but Lorna got in touch and after hearing our circumstances offered a full refund. Now that is not only great service but pretty much unheard of these days. We will be back very soon and will personally thank the team for their kindness and understanding.

Friendly cosy cooperative run pub. Good ales especially anything from the local Cwrw ial brewery and good food. Nice beer garden out front set in a nice quiet village.

Wonderful location and lovely cozy pub. The staff are volunteers but are so enthusiastic and try their absolute best. Food is varied and changes regularly, and the chef even altered the burger, added grated cheddar and grilled bacon just for me :) very lovely, great chips and excellent onion rings! I wish I had more room in my tummy because it was yummy. Cask ales are varied and its great to also see draft craft local ciders, main meal and a pint can be had for £13-£15 which is a bargain. Have heard great reviews of the b&b but I've not stayed as I live less than 15 mins away (lucky to have so many great pubs in such a beautiful place! )

We recently revisited this lovely village pub and had a superb meal there. This pub is now being run by the community and from what we saw, seems to be fulfilling the requirements of the picturesque village and it's inhabitants. We were made feel welcome and we hope to return before too long.

Popped in while out on our bikes. Stopped for a sandwich and local pint. Highly recommended.

Unfair really, we didn't stay as they had finished serving food at 15:00 on Sunday. We had called at 14:30 to ask if they had a play area and day friendly which they are. There was an area for playing boules. But hardly a play area and metal balls are not really what we intended for five and six year olds. Village looked nice though.

Good stop during Offa's Dyke walk (short easy detour worth it). Was able to book online. Unfortunately I was there the only day of the week the pub downstairs is closed (monday). Room had double bed, kitchenette and ensuite.

We ate at the pub last night and had a lovely homemade meal by the roaring fire. The chef even went out of her way and made me a gluten free fish and chips using a gf flour for the batter and using clean oil. It tasted lovely and was a real treat as it's something you can't normally eat when you are gf and dining out. It tasted lovely and would recommend. My family all enjoyed their meals too and it is very reasonably priced. Top marks to a very well run community pub.

Good pub once but not what it used to be sadly and peoples comments being removed from a public site you should be ashamed freedom of speech? Opinions mattering? Like I said not as good as it was run for a certain group of the community by members of that group working their and being on the board making decisions, pool table voted in trialed and proven to make money denied anyway as didnt fit with what said certain group wanted. Hides behind the title a community run pub but its not its a pub run by the wealthier members of the community ostrising others!
