Good food, efficient staff even although they were very short staffed, and a lovely building, when I was young it was a post office.

Although I enjoyed afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco there was no tea or coffee provided. I asked a member of staff if this was included and she said it was and would have this brought to our table. Unfortunately this didn't appear. Most sandwiches contained egg. I also had to wait to be served at the bar whilst 2 staff members chatted. Although this did not spoil my overall experience I felt a bit disappointed as it was a birthday treat.

Everything with the exception of their Afternoon Tea. We normally frequent for Cocktails with friends, love the venue and the atmosphere but was truly disappointed with their Afternoon Tea. Stale sandwiches, soggy pastries and foam cream for scones! Never again … sadly!

I organised a special birthday celebration for a friend. A cocktail masterclass with Riccardo, followed by a yummy dinner. They have a really nice young staff here & they couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. The day was a huge success, thanks to them. If you're planning an event, give them a go, you won't be disappointed. 🙂🙂

We had a really lovely night celebrating my Christmas birthday. Great atmosphere due to the singer who kept the tunes going all night and the kindness of the staff who gave me a celebration drink on the house. Cheers!

Been here many many times and it’s been good. Came tonight a barmaid accidentally threw a pint and a large glass of wine all over us. Totally soaked us. Photos will show. Bar man came over and apologised and said that the manager was on her way to speak to us. Manager arrived, no apology was given and offered nothing off the bill, not even the drinks that had been spilt, she then grudgingly offered 25% but no more even although we were to go on somewhere else and now can’t then offered a hairdryer lol. She’s starting going on about how they were struggling financially due to covid, and that’s why she couldn’t offer more.

Very friendly, helpful staff especially, nice atmosphere and yummy cocktails.

Another fantastic stay this weekend at angels share for our delayed lockdown birthday celebrations staff are amazeing so friendly and welcomeing. We had our favourite ewan room and as always had a fantastic stay and look forward to a return visit soon.

Gorgeous and quirky bar! We were there on Saturday evening for dinner and drinks. The 2 waitresses who served us were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great night. Food and cocktails were delicious and the live music was an added bonus. We will definitely we back!

We had our wedding dinner reception here a few weeks ago, and considering the very last minute booking, the staff were unbelievably helpful to make it as perfect as it can be in such short time and make this bride happy, from room layout, long table & seating arrangement, the delicious menu with excellent choices to choose from, the great cocktails, and the AV equipment for the slides and music. The service was ace! We also stayed the night in the hotel and slept like babies in our very comfy room. Would recommend it to anyone!

My wife and I held our wedding reception at Devil's Cut this past weekend. We couldn't recommend the Angel's Share or Devil's Cut more. Such a great vibe, space and wonderful staff. Eilidh was amazing helping us get everything organised so it was stress free and relaxed. We love this place and will make it a regular venue for us for future visits to Edinburgh.

Nice food if a little unimaginative, menu needs to offer a bit more of a variety, vegetables would be a good addition.

I loved the daiquiri options! They are all amazing! The bar looks very fancy, shiny and pretentious. From more expensive bar's selection. Your choice whether you like places like this.

Some of the loveliest staff — helpful and not intrusive. Food seems to have an obsession with adding curry to everything, but when we said, they're going back to the cook to expand the menu. Ingredients are very good and the curry sauce can easily be ignored. No to be fair, there are non curry dishes, but salmon with curry sauce? Will certainly be back.

Very nice grub. Service adequate. Left waiting for things like water jug. One of our group asked for tomato sause and got the smallest jar ever! They don't have cheese and biscuits on the menu.

We eat very well, very nice setting, very welcoming staff and a huge choice of alcohol and especially whisky.

This is a great bar. Lovely surroundings, got a booth tonight, shame about the young girl pouring drinks. Poured the coke all over the rum 360 degrees flattened the coke. Must be a new start. Will be back every week as usual.

Lovely hotel and staff and a great location. Room was nice, but completely overpriced. £185 for one night and breakfast wasn’t even included! In fact, breakfast was a complete rip off. Over £30 for two of us, with only one coffee and an apple juice and a very basic ‘full’ Scottish. No satellite TV or power shower. Z Hotel and Citizen M are far cheaper and offer much more value for money.

Great hotel and location. Stayed for 2 nights last week, staff friendly and helpful, loved the bar and the food. Topped off with sunny weather in Edinburgh.

Went here for after work drinks and dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic. The flat iron steak was delicious, although very slightly overdone. The atmosphere was ideal for the occasion, I would definitely recommend this place for a a medium sized group looking for a fairly relaxed dining experience.

Popped in for a drink as it was still open at midnight. The bar was nice and toilets were clean and modern. Drinks were not cheap but in line with city centre Edinburgh pricing.

Had fabulous girly day with my besties. Especially enjoyed the fabulous gin menu on offer and managed to work our way through a few tasters. Beautiful friendly atmosphere.

5 stars gor their bar. Lovely place and good food. Went on a Sunday evening early. Think all tables had a reservation notice sayong up to what time you could sit there. Seems very popular place. Had read about the origins of their meat a d went gor their rib eye steak. Perfectly grilled and tender. Pepper sauce in copper little pan. Fries in copper holder. Also took beef and haggis sausages with whisky sauce on mashed potatoes and really enjoyed that dish. Would definitely go there when in Edinburgh.

Amazing. I had my 40th in The Devil’s Cut below the Angel’s Share. The venue is fabulous and the staff were fantastic. So so helpful. We also stayed the night and were delighted. Could not recommend this place highly enough!

Very poor food on offer. Had burger which tasted Like a microwave burger. Other had fish with cremated batter.

Amazing place! Building was constructed in the 1700s but it could not be more modern. A post office through 1950, now an amazing hotel, restaurant, bar and grill plus super friendly team. It's a must visit! Ncp parking at castle terrace is just a few blocks up.

Staff were attentive but not overbearing. Food and drinks were served promptly.

Expensive for a tourist without too many resources, but in the most central of Edinburgh. It is worth taking a little piece of authentic Scotch whisky at six pounds by the chimney, in an armchair, a night of snow, as I was fortunate enough to do. Very good memory.

I visited the restaurant with my boyfriend on Saturday and had the best time! I had the booked the table for food and was then lucky enough to win their fourth day of Christmas which consisted of four cocktails and mince pies. I chose to have a Rhubarb and Custard, That's Minted, Mocha Martini and a Tunnock'a Teacake — they all tasted amazing! When we arrived, we were informed that our table had others sitting on it. This table was very low and only meant for drinks so I let …them know that we had booked for food as well and the waitress quickly found us a table. We didn't have to wait long and she dealt with the error brilliantly! The restaurant was fully booked so it could have easily ended worse. Our waiter for the evening was Ryan, and his service was of the highest standard! Very friendly and attentive. We were told when we arrived that we would have to wait a while for food due to the business of the restaurant, but I can't say I noticed waiting very long. I had turkey and my boyfriend had a burger — both very tasty. We stayed for drinks after because of the great atmosphere and even invited my friend and her family to join us, who were also staying in Edinburgh that weekend. I will definitely be back next time I'm staying in Edinburgh and can't recommend the restaurant enough!

I spent a few hours in the bar here. It had a good feel to the place. The staff where friendly and drinks where about average price for a decent hotel. I'll definitely go back at some point.

Very nice hotel with a lively bar attached. Booked for the Saturday night only and didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Rooms are themed and of good quality but did feel that it's not a £250 a night room though, which is what I paid. Staff very nice. If I could get a deal I'd go back but won't pay the same to go.

This wee bar used to be a lovely place… great food; music; drinks & staff. The Angel Share card made it even better for regular customers with the discount on food & drinks.
Can I ask… Has it changed hands? There has been a notable difference and it’s certainly not the place it used to be unfortunately Sadly in my opinion the new manager can’t ‘manage’… historical customers with the loyalty card were entitled to a free bottle of prosecco on their Birthday; however on this occasion this offer wasn’t honoured by the new manager! I have been a loyal customer of Angel Share since it opened, as has my family & friends. The response and attitude I received from your staff was both unacceptable and disappointing, sadly I question whether I’ll be back!

For the second time here. Great! Each room is different. Modern. Great bar me very good selection of whisky. Food very good.

A great welcome at the hotel. The rooms are modern and very well furnished. The staff is top and very friendly. Always warm water and only an hour of mallow. Breakfast when you take it here a poem. Two corners away, though, is also a coffee. A very good hotel where you can easily explore the whole city. The 100 Air Link bus line to the airport is 30 metres further away. Yes, gladly again.

Bar has lively atmosphere. Live music was great and cocktail choice decent.

Great bar area. Well situated in the west end just off Charlotte Square. Fantastic range of drinks and a great atmosphere complimented by the love musicians who aren't loud and so not intrusive into your conversation.

Great place. Relaxing atmosphere in a vibrant city centre location. Staff seem to be well trained in mixology and food produce is second to none. Usual hang out when in Edinburgh (has a downstairs club / private function area.

Nice upmarket bar in the West End, near tram stop and Haymarket Station. Good selection of whisky.

Stayed for 3 nights and were very happy there. Room 105 was small but comfortable although had no view as overlooked the back. However it did mean it was beautifully quiet with no street noise or sounds from the late night bar. Very central & easy walking for most of Edinburgh's main attractions & very easy to get to on the Airlink 100 bus from the airport. The food was very yummy and the drinks very acceptable. Hotel prices of course but not too bad. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back if we can manage a return visit to Edinburgh.

Had a top class meal with great service. Highly recommend the venison steak. Definitely be back. Only one real ale available at the bar with a reasonable wine list.

7pm Saturday night and the bar was already busy, got served straight away! but £13.90 for two drinks left a bitter taste! Staff were great, decor/atmosphere was great, would I return… probably not.

The restaurant/bar had a unique decor, from the black and white portraits of various celebrities, to the chandeliers and mirrored ceiling. Location wise it's situated towards the west end of Edinburgh, so is easily accessible and found. The bar had a wide selection of unique spirits, cocktails and beers, with the service being friendly and quick as well.

Angel's Share is a gorgeous cocktail bar with amazing drinks and fare. Loved their barrel aged cocktails! The city orchard was phenomenal. Worth a try!

This hotel and bar is fantastic. We were even able to leave our bags for the day after we checked out so we could spend the day in the city unencumbered before taking the train to London. Very centralized and lovely.

Went here for drinks on a Saturday night after dinner. The atmosphere was good — wasn't too busy. The only issue I had was that they had a live band, and they were just a bit too loud…

Really bad breakfast experience on a very quiet Sunday with poor service and awful food.

Rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped. Food was of a very high standard and well presented, good selection of spirits and cocktails offered too. All staff (hotel and restaurant) offered a high standard of service and went above and beyond. Would definitely recommend to others and return in future.

The bar was crowded and everyone seemed to be having cocktails so service was slow. The atmosphere was wonderful though and the bar staff were lovely. They have quite a lot of choice. I would go again.

We had the pork belly and the venison. Both were simple but tasty enough. The real star was the wine, which we splurged a bit on but enjoyed it very much. Served at a nice temperature, and it went really well with the cheeseboard.

I loved this place when it was the Hudson and I was so intrigued to see what had been done to it with the new Angels Share. The décor is opulent and it really has a nice vibe to it. I was here for afternoon tea and was using a voucher site deal to get it at a better cost. my pre-arranged veggie option sandwiches didn't arrive but the chef quickly made some up for me. They were the best part of it as the scones were dry and seemed like yesterdays batch and there was no choice of tea menu, just English breakfast. The afternoon tea came with a cocktail which was beautiful. Would I pay full price for their afternoon tea? definitely not, would I come back here for cocktails? absolutely yes.

The afternoon tea was very poor quality.   No choice of tea, just given breakfast tea.   Scones dry and tasteless. Marmalade given alongside jam.   Never heard of anyone wanting marmalade on a scone.  Sandwiches mainly ok but a really pathetic looking ham one.   Had to ask for veggie sandwiches even though I'd written a request in the booking form.   Waitress was nice and passed on our comments to the chef who offered us a free dessert.   We took a free cocktail instead.   Beautiful bar, food should be of a decent standard.  Feels like they are cashing in on afternoon tea popularity.

I had not been in here since it changed from the Hudson bar, however I was very pleasantly surprised. I nipped in on a Friday night and was intrigued to find a lively atmosphere with people dancing to live music played by a rather handsome young man on a guitar. The wait at the bar was long but worth it and made up for by the overall experience.

I enjoy a chandelier so I like the fancy decor in here. The photos on the walls are of rather questionable scottish 'icons' (clare grogan — really? ) though — i'm not sure how I would feel about a giant gordon ramsay picture above my hotel bed! on a friday apres work it's ridiculously busy and have always had to wait an exceptionally long time to get a bog standard cocktail but i've recently tried the restaurant and it was much quieter, it does 2 courses for a £10 and is pretty reasonably priced (£7) for a tasty lunchtime sandwich so returning is likely.

The Angels Share is a contemporary bar/restaurant in the west end of Edinburgh. I have been to the bar for after work drinks with friends, it was already getting buy at 5.30 on a Friday however the staff were very helpful and let us sit in a reserved booth for an hour until they needed it. The drinks menu is extensive with a good selection of wines, spirit and cocktails. The house wine was very drinkable and the cocktails looked very good. A very pleasant atmosphere inside, very clean and classy.

Been here for post work drinks a few times and it's usually rammed. What I didn't know about was the function room downstairs. 'The devils cut' is accessed through the bar or a separate entrance round the side. This would be a great place for a private party for a larger groups. We had around 50 I think and there was plenty more space. Not sure of costs but would recommmend checking it out.

I was slighly dubious about this change from the Hudson Wine Bar as I never really thought their was anything wrong with it as it was! However I have to give it 10/10 on making the New Angels Share a success! Serve cannot be faulted and the last time we were there (during the busy festival) we got a seat relatively easy and serve was faultless. The set lunch menu was tasty x Cocktail are great, although I do think they could have a few more on the drinks menu to choose from and I love the chandilers! A fab place for drinks with friends or a yummy lunch. Great location too, Well Done.

Beautifully decorated bar with a great spirit selection and a more interesting selection of beers than you'd necessarily expect for a West End gin palace. A good Sunday roast makes it a good spot for refuelling after a day of shopping. The downside is that when it's less than packed it can feel a bit soulless and it's definitely on the expensive end of the price range (and the missing apostrophe from the word Angels is a pet hate). Definitely a good addition to the Edinburgh bar scene.

The decor is the bar is lovely with stunning chandeliers and mirrored walls. The humorously named cocktails are reasonably priced and the cocktails mixed with peaty whisky taste really unique. Not bad for a bar in the busy city centre.
