My stay at Fraser Suites in Edinburgh was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. My experience was so bad and mind-boggling that I would give it a negative rating if I could. The room was perfectly fine with an unobstructed view, but it turns out that on the third day of an 8 day stay, for a total of 1200 euros, NO ONE had come by to clean the room. I had to make the remark and ask for it to be done, then I had to beg for the towels to be changed. The person at the front desk, who is Spanish by nationality, and who entirely contributed to ruining our stay, still took the liberty of asking if by chance I had left the "do not disturb" tag. For 3 days. Seriously? There was a breakfast twice a week (? ), of mediocre quality. The other days the hotel offered nothing at all. I don't understand that either. I dared to ask for an umbrella one day when the weather was very bad, this same lady, who never smiles, never looks at any customer and offers only one answer to all questions ("no") obviously answered me that she didn't have an umbrella to give me, without even looking up. My daughter got sick, so I asked for a little more time, an hour or two, to do the check out scheduled at noon on the last day. This awful woman, true to her lack of humanity and professionalism, not only refused, but also told me that there were a lot of arrivals that day and that the room had to be vacated by 11am and reminded me that for every extra hour spent in the room, she would charge me 20 pounds. Of course, there was no shuttle service to the airport and she refused to call us a cab AND to keep our bags! Fortunately, the other people at the reception, Greeks and Scots, were helpful, Yolanda and Natalia brought us chocolates to apologize for the lack of cleanliness in the room and some sweets for my sick daughter, the staff in general was understanding and pleasant. Also, the hotel across the street where we often ate since it was impossible at the Fraser Suites, THEY lent us an umbrella, called us a cab AND kept our suitcases for us even though we weren't even staying with them. For 150 euros per night, I don't think asking for respect and cleanliness is too much. This Spanish person at the reception has NOTHING to do there, she is unpleasant, rude, disrespectful, bad, and I don't understand what she is doing in this position. It is unacceptable.
