Very spacious, genuine staff, gorgeous food and amazing choice of music.

Sorry for the late review lol, had a wedding here 8 years ago, amazing place, staff wonderful along with the owners, made our day very special and memorable, thanks again from Mr & Mrs Evans. Will return soon.

Great place for functions and friendly staff.

Great hotel, we were there for our friends wedding, very friendly and helpfull staff, they made the wedding special and beautifull, our rooms very clean and comfy, I highly recomend this hotel, I will be back :)

Amenities were basic. The included free breakfast was good. Bed was good and comfy. Staffs were amazing. The handle to the toilet was broken though, overall still a pleasant experience.

Basic but fine for a few nights, room was comfortable. They could do with some fans in the room for summer, boiling hot. Breakfast was ok, continental. Refurbishment needed in bedrooms.

Lovely old house turned into victoria park house. Staff were great and friendly. Prices were good and room was nice to.

Fare rate. Easy access to city just the corner bus stop £1.70/trip. Nice staff. Beautiful front beer garden. But front door picture need to update.

At first I was a bit frustrated with the extreme heat in the room. Went to complain and realized that the previous guest turned up the radiator. After figuring out that it was quite enjoyable. Staff was very friendly.

Decent rooms and nice food, will come back again.

Lovely clean building, catered for mums funeral could do with slightly better choice of sandwiches for the money paid, drinks reasonably priced, staff friendly and welcoming but not intrusive.

Very pleasant and professional service. Lovely location. Food was fresh and the home made short bread was most appreciated.

A cute old house with some nice rooms. Good bed and good bathroom. The bar is not the best for food, but they do have a nice selection of drinks. Transport to and from the city centre is easy as two buses run right around the corner.

Only came here briefly for a wake. Staff were friendly and helpful. Drinks and food were good (buffet). Place was clean and cosy.

Was at this hotel for my daughters wedding meal on the15th December 2017 at 5pm. It was a shambles. Wrong sauce with chicken meal. Small portions. Belly pork meal was dry and only one small portion of belly pork was overcooked. Burnt roast potatoes. As for the kids meal, the adults were half way through main course before they even got served. They did not get a starter and the girl waitress was asking kids what they wanted to eat knowing full well what yhe menu was. Kids were getting excited thinking they were getting what they asked for which was pizza. The disappointment on their faces when they got chicken and fish and chips was not a picture you wanted to see. The kids even had to ask for a sweet which was practically thrown at them at last minute which was rushed as all were getting ready to leave. Not worth the money at all. Almost £40 per head. I will be taking my daughter along to see the management personally when they are back from honeymoon. Expect some kind of compensation. Not happy.

Very basic, you get what you pay for. Needs a bit of a paint job, white paint yellowing, dirty marks all over the walls in the corridors. Breakfast was the best part of staying here, you can have the choice of full Scottish, pancakes with fresh fruit and syrup or smoked salmon or basic continental.

Quite a good selection of craft beer. Friendly staff. I will go in the summer as they have a nice beer garden. I was put off as it smelled a bit like sewage when we went in… they may have had a leak so I will not write it off. Food looked nice but didn't try for myself.

Great value for the money. Nice small family hotel with good food. Everyone there really try their best. I will come back.

Old hotel away from the center and located by the road.

Pleasant staff and very nice beer and food. Such a good place to hold an event for any reason and come out knowing it was worth doing for everyone.

Have held multiple functions here in recent years. It's a fantastic hotel with very courteous staff. The services available are excellent, The food is the best I have ever had for a party buffet. The owners are incredibly kind and receptive too. Cant recommend enough 5

Excellent food but a bit pricey.

We stayed for one night and enjoyed the good food and the great drinks at the bar. Rooms are big and the people are friendly.

Funeral reception was very poor. A bare room with a closed bar and unprepared tables was presented. Sausages and very basic sandwiches were provided with beverages from flasks — no refills were offered. In summery minimum quality and quantity for maximum profit. The hotel is close to the crematorium and is clearly cashing in for little effort. I cannot stress how upset embarrassed my family were for our guests.

Funeral was discreetly and quietly catered for. Good range of sandwiches etc at a reasonable price.

Pleasant hotel, with a small traditional bar. Clean comfy rooms, would stay again.

29th July 2017 Myself and my beautiful wife are just home from this amazing hotel. We were married in St Mary's star of the sea and then celebrated our beautiful day then after at the hotel. … 2 months ago the wedding organiser Craig sadly moved on to somewhere different and genuinely did worry, but after a lovely phone call from Davide who owns the hotel filled me confidence and set up a meeting to go over it all. After 10 minutes of meeting Davide and Angela, my concerns and worries soon disappeared and knew they had this. Davide, Thank you so much for making our day a dream. Your kind hearted nature shined and my guests were complementing how nice you were. Thank you for having everything organised and making sure the day/night rolled without any issues. Angela, you are Such a lovely lady. And amazing at your job. Throughout all the planning you have been there to help. You are a credit to the hotel and will now miss speaking with you on a weekly basis. Ryan, what a chef and so so accomadating when ever I needed something. His food is unreal and takes real pride in what he does. Biggest issue for me was I never tasted how good his food was as he was employed when craig left. However on my first look never mind bite I knew it was going to be something special. I was offered food tasting again but sadly didn't have the time too but I knew after meeting him I didn't have too.

Great beer and nice beer garden. Was there for Leith Folk club so great night.

Had a great stay in the hotel bearing in mind you get what you pay for. Breakfast was very good, tasty and organised. The room was standard, nothing special and the hotel contains a little bar at the rear which is especially nice.

We had our wedding day here on the 17.06.17 and it was, without doubt, the best day of our lives. My husband and I would just like to say a huge thank you to all the staff of the VPH who were totally out of this world and made the day run perfectly. Davide, was truly professional thought the planning and delivering of the day, he was like our best friend. The venue, the food, the staff exceeded our expectations and we couldn't recommend it highly enough for those wanting to hold their big day there too. Will post pics of the day / room set up once back from the Caribbean. Thanks once more. Mr & Mrs Teager-Boyd x.

Wonderful little place when staying outside of the city. Amazing full breakfast included in stay. All staff was warm and very helpful :)

We had a funeral function here. The food was fine but the service was poor. We had the small function room with the bar. The staff kept disappearing and it turned out to be because they were also serving in the public bar. There was no til in our bar so they had to go through to the other bar to do the transaction. We were left waiting for ages every time we ordered a drink. Eventually I went looking for the bar staff and found her working in the other bar. It would have been respectful for them to have cleaned the tables out the front before we arrived for our function. Sadly disappointed.

We had a family lunch party in the function room at the hotel. With 15 kids of varying ages and 30 adults, the venue couldn't have been more perfect and the service was amazing. The staff were on hand to cater to our every need whilst bring relaxed and very friendly. The good was delicious and exceeded expectations. Would recommend to anyone with a big family looking to find a venue for a group 'do' or reunion. Think they can sit over 100 if you needed it. It's also v easy to get to, especially for our family coming from Fife. Thanks to Craig and the team. Craig met with me on 2 occassions to ensure everything was as required. Just very good from beginning to end.

Rooms are nothing special but it was fine for us with our infant. Staff are really friendly and helpful and breakfast is good.

I've just attended a wedding here, the place is fantastic, the food is absolutely delicious. The staff are the best and Craig is an absolute star.

Good park, two new tennis courts (hard) and a new basketball court. Quiet, relatively secluded and good for kids, BBQs etc. Not large enough for jogging.

Big park with 2 children's play parks inside, one for young and other for older kids. Popular with dog owners and walkers. During lunch time it can get busy with high schoolers but usually quiet. There is a basket ball, football and tennis courts which are free to use!

Attended for funderal. Overall good place.

Nice staff and some interesting alcohol choices. Gents toilets smell like someone pished on the floor though, so bring a peg.

I attended an event here and there was no issues. Friendly staff and nice drinks.

Lovely park for all ages. Has bowls, child's play area, tennis and basketball courts and garden allotments. Also plenty of tarmaced paths for walking. The only failing is lack of public toilet. Every Friday at 11am there is an ageing well park walk lasting about 45 minutes. Starts from the king Edward vii monument.

Little bit worn off. Wifi is not working. Free parking is a pros.

A real gem of a place. We cam in late to Edinburgh and booked this without a glance. We were really happy with everything. The room was a great size with all the right amenities. Great blinds coupled with thick windows meant a solid nights sleep was had. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast included. Wi-Fi dropped in and out a bit in the room but was strong in most other areas. Will definitely be back here when in town again.

A haven for dog owners and families with young children, Victoria Park boasts a play park, sports courts and is connected to cycle and walking paths to Leith, Broughton and Newhaven. Always exceptionally clean (even after the summertime picknicking crowds have gone) it's been awarded a Green Flag Award for being an excellent greenspace.

I recently had my wedding reception at this hotel and it was perfect! The owners and the staff could not do enough for us. The food was excellant couldn't fault a thing. Our whole family stayed at the hotel for the weekend and everyone had a great time! We could not have picked a better place to celebrate our wedding! Thank you to all the staff.
