Had a fantastic and lovely Sunday lunch this afternoon for my mother birthday thank you so much Raymond and his wife the food was out if this world also for the bar staff and the waiting staff as well will defo be coming back wish you guys all the best 🤙🤙

Lovely friendly country pub food was great and staff extremely friendly. We had our 3 young grandchildren with us and they catered for perfectly. Will definitely return and throughly recommend… well done.

We are in park farm up the road the horse shoe we love going down there if we got a birthday we have a meal the staff are fab every one that works there work very hard fair play family’s all welcome.

Today me and my family (7 of us in total) enjoyed a stunning homemade very tasty Sunday roast here, in fact we all had 3 courses and it was all amazing served hot amazing presentation fab portion sizes, very tasty, and service with a smile which is just as important, fab lunch, fab place
We will definitely be recommending this lovely place to our friends and family, well done guys finding a place like yours is very rare these days massive complements to the chef Rachel and to the young lady lily and the bar man… The A team today fab job :-) they made us feel very welcome x.

Food was absolutely delicious and plentiful! The beef literally melted in my mouth, the vegetables were piping hot! Absolutely fantastic, will definitely be making a return visit!

Went to the gin festival. Areas that could be improved upon are. More bar staff inside and out. More glasses. Food could have been provided throughout the evening. Lighting needed outside and more seating required outside.

Great "proper" pub with no pretentious, simple food, reasonably priced drinks. Dog friendly and very welcoming. Good selection of beers on keg and cask. Comfortable decor inside. Can get very busy. Benches out front but no beer garden unfortunately.

It's the pub for Crickhowell RFC so we're always well looked after but good food and beer and a warm welcome seems to be given to everybody so I'd recommend to all. And why not come and watch Crick before joining us back at the pub?

Perfect! Clean, comfy, modern rooms in a Beautiful rustic Inn. Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and the television worked well. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was spot on. The bar is popular and had a good friendly buzz but we genuinely experienced zero disturbance in our rooms. The setting is the stunning Black Mountains and the small town of Crickhowell is within walking distance with all the basic shops you'll need including a good fish and chip shop. The price was exceptional value and I now know exactly where I'll be staying the next time I need to be in the area. Simply brilliant!

Had a fantastic evening of live music and dancing. Was walking by and heard a great singer /guitarist so popped in for a quick pint. 5 hours later I danced my way out!

Superb hospitality, the rooms are beautiful with comfy beds and warm showers. We had dinner and breakfast here, both of which were delicious. Staff were extremely welcoming, as were the locals. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful restoration to a classic village pub. I would recommend the shoe to everyone. Great beer and food, friendly bar staff and the lovely helpful Jess overseeing everything and ensuring your experience is positive. Please don't all turn up at once as I will need to get in!

Called in for a swift half while on a walk from Gilwern and back. Perfect halfway point. Ended up having a very welcome pint and a hotdog. What impressed me was another couple came in with their dog and instantly they were brought a bowl of water and a few dog biscuits. Excellent attention to detail, and all done very naturally. I'll be back.

We're here for Green Man and have visited the Horse Shoe a couple of times so far. What a great pub! Friendly staff, great beers and they even let us have a free lemon for the gin and tonics back at our cottage. If you're in the area for Green Man (or any other reason) go in and have a pint!

Oh my god! Awesome! We called in after a less than fantastic meal locally and we were blown away. Proper pub!
No food was being served (Saturday evening) and it was perfect and what's more… packed. Just like pubs used to be with a truly fantastic atmosphere.
Only two staff behind the small bar and one young lady clearing glasses, but super organisation meant no-one waited long at the bar. Absolutely fabulous place with a great selection of proper draught beer (Butty Bach and Doombar were on last night and one other that I can't remember) and interesting European lagers. Very different to how it looked when I drank there as a teenager (pretending to be 18). Wow, took me right back, let's hope this is the way forward for many other country pubs. Go take a look. You will adore it. Thank you guys. You made an old lush feel 10 years younger.

Beautifully renovated — loved all the unique tables, the exposed stone walls and fireplaces, the little quirky touches like the coloured panelling in the ladies', and the little mouse peeking through a knot hole.
Great atmosphere, decent selection of beers, a great addition to the village.
