Nice hotel but staffs were not.

Cannot praise our waiter enough ‘Callum’, this young man went over and above waiters I have come across in a long time! He had a lot of tables himself and treated every customer as if they were the only ones in the restaurant! A difficult lady and gent came in and were not too happy they could not have a window seat but Callum handled the situation like a pro, very professional! The food well what can I say…. The chef (I’m sorry I don’t know what your name is) but you sure do turn out some excellent meals! Recently I’ve had an omelette, soup sandwiches/wraps, steak pie, scampi etc and this has only been in the past few weeks and it’s all been hot, fresh and well presented! I would encourage anyone to dine whether it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed from the service from any single one of the staff or the food the kitchen produces!

Friendly staff and nice outlook and delicious food!

I always feel comfortable in the surroundings and very relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very Friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. Today I requested something that wasn't on the menu and it wasn't a problem for them to privide exactly what I wanted.

Would I reccomend. Yes and No. Yes for drinks as its a great bar BUT if I am totally honest the standard of food has dropped… a lot! I should have raised it last time I was in but didn't want to look to be causing any issues but this has been the last few times now and speaking to others it seems sadly to be the normal now. So please bring back the standards and food of old.
I know you'll still get bookings due to what's happening when open but the big picture is if a few feel as I do then there is some customers that like your bar very much BUT would rather do without than come for food now. Looking forward to things getting back to way it used to be and re-writing this review.

Cosy good food lovely staff.

Staff were friendly, polite and professional. The location was fantastic and the facilities were modern and well kept. The restaurant also serves great food! would recommend this place for anyone looking for a good night's sleep in a fantastic hotel.

Went in today for lunch with my bestie, place is well run and sanitizer laid out everywhere… taking to your seat and table service with friendly welcoming staff. I would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to dine here and the views are great over the clyde. Thank you guys.

The spicy Cajun vegetable soup was amazing. As was the service from Fraser. A totally enjoyable experience. Will definitely return. Cheers.

2 nights spent in this lovely hotel. Food very tasty and new menu out today with vegan options. Wonderful views from spacious comfortable room. Staff very friendly and accommodating and dogs welcome. Would certainly stay again.

The Spinnaker Hotel is awesome. The view is spectacular. The owner and his staff are beyond nice and bend over backwards to make sure that you have a great stay. The room was clean and comfortable. It is somewhat of a local destination, so lots of friendly people to meet. The dining room and front porch are very welcoming. The only problem is that you will not want to leave… smile.

Terrific location, good food and drink, nice rooms upstairs of the pub. The hosts and all who work there are very pleasant and helpful.

We ordered the burgers, chips with coleslaw. The burgers where delicious the chips hot and crispy and a really well made slaw however the brioche bun was very hard and the cheese was over melted and difficult to chew so a little disappointing given the rest of the meal.

We had a wonderful birthday buffet catered for 25 people. Food was yum yum, especially loved the chilli, curry and sweet potato fries. Great atmosphere. Staff are lovely and very helpful … and to top it off the sun was shining!

Amazing hotel with fantastic staff and food. The staff especially Avril and Fraser go the extra mile to make your stay wonderful. The views across the Firth of Clyde are amazing. Great views to wake up too. The beaches are within easy reach of the hotel and the surrounding area is of outstanding beauty. Cannot wait for our next visit. A true gem on the coast of Scotland.

Great food, friendly helpful staff, my local when ever we'r back home, we also have a meal every Christmas Eve with friends here and even though it was crazy busy on Christmas Eve and things took a little longer it was worth it, food was fantastic all the staff were working their butt off but we're still as helpful and friendly as always! And a massive thank you to Stewart for running to shops (on such a busy night) just to make us our fav French martini (now that's customer service). Love the new look and cheers to a prosperous and happy new year.

Had a lovely meal in the recently refurbished bar area (the bar looks fantastic), I had the steak ciabatta and my husband had the roast chicken — both were lovely. We followed this with a tasty brownie and ice cream and a lovely Irish Coffee. The bar has a lovely, friendly atmosphere (we had a lovely chat about black pudding with an american hotel guest) and beautiful views of the Clyde. The service was fantastic attentive and efficient and Catherine our server was bright and cheerful. A lovely evening we will be back.

Attended a family event at the Spinney. Food and drink were spot on and the musical ensemble was brilliant too.

Good selection of food, does small portions on request! Good ambience and reasonably good value for money, given it's a hotel. The staff are very friendly.

On arrival we were welcomed by owner Stewart. Our room was well appointed, a good size with glorious views across the Clyde. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room had lovely fluffy towels. Our evening meal from the generous menu was excellent, as was the wine, and we also enjoyed a hearty breakfast in the morning. The staff were friendly and obliging. We will highly recommend the Spinnaker to our friends. 2/3 September 2010.

This place just needs George Formby and his Ukelele, and some young men in ill-fitting National Service uniforms. OK the occupants were not wearing knotted hankies on their heads, but that was probably because it was raining. Iceberg lettuce and frozen portions of school dinners are the fare here as you squeeze up with Doris and Dave who are admiring the knick-knacks. Luverly pint of beer. Three taps of sour local Real Ale. Now, even Butlins has moved on, but The Spinnacker is obviously revisited by the same loyal customers for 60 years, so let's leave to them.
