Just back from a Tribute event with dinner B&B. Fantastic value. Four course meal was lovely. Act was excellent. Rooms have been upgraded a very comfortable. Lovely breakfast and staff work hard. Thank you.

Second time here and won't be the last. Food great, staff great bed very comfortable. Dinner dance was brilliant.

Ourselves and another couple spent 2 nights in hotel, comfy beds, good showers and beautiful warm rooms. We booked independently and bus tours were there both nights, this didn't affect our stay in fact it made it better, we joined in their entertainment and the singer was superb. Meals were adequate and lovely and the Staff were amazing, nothing was to much bother and always smiling, the Rob Roy Hotel is definitely a hotel we would return to and I highly recommend a visit.

We were a group of 10 stayed overnight rooms were clean and everything was just right, staff very helpful food was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights and attended the dinner dance.
It was such good value for money, food was excellent.
The staff could not have been anymore accomodating, helping us with my mums surprise 70th.
We will most definitely return in the future!

Had a great wee over night with some friends tribute act, service was good, staff intensive and willing to help, unfortunately my beef was tough as old boots, couldn't eat it, asked the head waiter if possible could I have even some rolls as I was hungry, he came back with a chicken dinner, 10 out of 10 for that, breakfast was fabulous, again service good, will be back, oh yes tribute act was good well done rob Roy, caroline.

Overall great weekend at that Rob Roy with great Company. However the restaurant Mgr needs some customer service training. Dour only starts to describe his demeanour. However the rest of staff were excellent.
The pool table is long overdue some TLC.

First visit in a couple of years. Can see that money has been spent to upgrade. Food was delicious. And now dog friendly. Will be back for a dinner dance hopefully later this year.

Just stayed 2 nights, can't fault it.
It's a motel style layout, with covered walkway to protect you from the glaring sun.
Set in lovely grounds, with squirrels in the trees, there is easy access to a wheelchair friendly path along side the Forth into Aberfoyle.
The food was excellent and the breakfast is buffet style so basically eat as much as you want, from cereals, fruit, bread, eggs, bacon, sausage etc etc.
If I really, really have to find a fault, then it's no haggis, but I'll forgive you.

Great place to stay and for the price even better. It's a 3 star hotel and they are not trying to be better than that as they don't need to. The food served there is the highest quality and the staff are friendly and helpful. I truly recommend and book early as it's not a secret people come back over and over.

Stayed here for a coach trip for 5 days. I came in the winter so the coach trip was really cheap and I was very surprised with what I got for my money. Full bar with selection of drinks and live entertainment every night. Food was breakfast buffet hot and cold. Evening meal was different every night with a menu to choose from. There was plenty of different dishes to choose from and all good was lovely and well presented. Wi-Fi is in the main lobby/bar only but is a good speed and reliable. Large car park and the next village is 1 mile away but there is a footpath at the back of the hotel leading straight there. Perfect hotel for a nice low price and I couldn't fault the place.

It is a cheap 3 star hotel but that's all you should expect here. The food was fine, the drinks fine and reasonably priced. Location is brilliant and a nice walk through to Aberfoyle. Hotel could do with a bit of paint here and there but otherwise it was very good. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good. Rooms basic but comfortable.

I managed to stuff up the booking and arrived the day after I booked. Receptionist great and we were lucky. At $72 we were a bit worried at the standard. It was good. Beds a bit old and hard but not a problem. Friendly staff and we had an excellent meal in the evening followed by a top breakfast. … We would go back.

Stayed 2 nights end of May 18. Lovely place. The rooms were modern and very clean, the towels were even changed. Breakfast was one of the best I've had. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. There's a lovely walk into Aberfoyle right behind the hotel perfect for pram's or wheelchairs too. I would definitely go back.

Menu looks great we had just popped in for a cool drink after climbing ben venue.

3 star hotel that doesn't try to be anything more than that. Rooms are pretty basic but bed is comfortable and shower rooms are clean and bright. Shower wasn't brilliant with not a lot of power but it did the job. Breakfast was good with a decent choice and everything being nice and hot which deserves a special mention as most buffet breakfasts are not.

Went here for a band night, and it was fantastic. Dinner, bed and breakfast. Food was nice, the rooms are basic but good enough and clean. A good night had by all.

The people are fantastic! Service very friendly, very caring and helpful — layout of hotel itself — very confusing! I am disabled & booked an accessible room — the rooms are as far away from the hotel as possible! The rooms themselves are ideal & accessible — but you need to be on " a good day " to reach them!

Just spent the weekend in the Rob Roy, would highly recommend it, the staff are brilliant cant do enough for you the place is immaculate, the food is great rooms are lovely, will def be back.

Spent four days there with Houghs of Lincolnshire, throughly enjoyed it… basic but very good value for money. Would recommend it…

We stayed in the hotel on our travels back from the lake District and they were very accommodating. We had our dog Milo with us and he loved his stay, especially chilling in the bar!
Rooms were cozy and comfortable and all the staff were lovely and chatty.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 course meal, the food was delicious :)
Will definitely recommend to friends and look forward to visiting again soon on our travels in the summer :)

Good value 2/3 star hotel. Nice staff and excellent breakfast.

Rooms clean and tidy, staff friendly and food was great. Only down side (and don't think it's something that can be changed) was that the sound proofing wasn't great, woken up by another guests snoring, though it was quickly stopped probably by their partner Big Gary's singing was good too.

Excellent service and very dog friendly very clean and superb meals classed as a 2star but I would say a 3 star.

A great place to stay especially in winter as the rooms are very roomy and very pleasant and clean with large on-suite bathrooms and they are kept warm all day and even on the lowest radiator setting the room is comfortable, the beds are not the comfiest but I have arthritis in my back so this may exacerbate my thoughts on the beds and for most people they would probably be great, the food is fantastic and they have some fantastic local single malts in the bar.

For a two star hotel it is absolutely fabulous. Great food, great staff, had a ball there. Booked with Hough's of Lincolnshire for the first week and went on their day tours for three days — lovely, have booked for next year already. Booked with East Kilbride Red Deer Club Scottish Dancers for the second week. Wore myself out dancing morning, noon and night and met lots of lovely people. That is booked for next year as well. Nice walks in this area.

Lovely place to stay… warm and very welcoming… food was lovely we all enjoyed breakfast… basic rooms… warm and clean.

The place is in a very nice location in Scotland with some great views. The hotel is rather run down with some rooms appearing to be in a poor shape and in need of repairing. Some rooms had holes or cracks in the walls and doors, other rooms had broken locks in the bathroom, other rooms had broken lights or lights that were just not working. The TV has hardly any channels and the shower area is tiny and no good. The bed was fairly uncomfortable. However, the rooms are a reasonable size and so is the bathroom. Entertainment/bar area is not too bad. The music starts at around 8:30pm after dinner and lasts until around 2:00AM until you will be moved into the bar area by the pool table. The bar however shuts once you're moved out of the entertainment area. Only one pool table in a fairly large hotel is a bit disappointing if i'm honest. The food before the entertainment was not as good as I was expecting it to be. The food never had any real kick to it and it just tasted to me bland. I'd say the food was just at an acceptable level and no more. Overall, I will probably not need to visit this hotel again, but if I do I would hopefully (expect) to see some improvements to the hotel rooms as well as improvements to the food.

I have been here about 10 times and it keeps getting better. The staff are very good and friendly. The meals are excellent and you won't get better value anywhere. Very very satisfied customers. Bob and Norma Robertson.

Had a great holiday with great meals excellent service and nothing was too much for the staff who made us very welcome. Enjoyed it so much have booked to go back next March.

Nice breakfast, poor shower, average bed. Nice bar with live music. The staff was friendly. Bottom line — nothing special.

2 stars hotel, but looking so much better. Rooms are big, toilets are clean, beds are comfortable. Very good food and singer performances during dinner. Wifi is working well.

Great Hotel, Plenty space for parking and the rooms are clean. The meals are also very nice and plenty and the staff are friendly. There's free Wi-fi but I found it hard to get a phone single.

Arrived during an old Citroën meeting. Bar staff were courteous, polite and informative. Food was delicious, beer was cold and there were hot cars outside. A great visit.

Rooms are Ok, if you don't have noisey neighbours but that's not hotel fault, lovely surroundings. Food is … well on a Friday night it's like very poor school dinners. We opted for the fish pie with creamy sauce… erm… well we had a small pie dish with a baked mashed tatties topping and what can only be described as a very very dry and no and I mean NO creamy sauce what so ever… no sauce… nowt! With it I had a ladle of carrots and neeps and another scoop of mashed tatties… did I mention there was no sauce! Oh I forgot my starter of chicken liver pate… well the scoop of warm pate with 2 very small oatcakes and a bit of lettuce was well… how it sounds! Now we saw the rhubarb crumble come out to a couple next to us so I asked what it was like "loads of crumble and very little rhubarb and very little custard … " the lady to the left had waited 45 mins for her trifle to be delivered and after having one spoonful got up and left… so we opted for the crumble but made sure to ask for more custard… it arrived 90% crumble 3% ruhubarb 7% custard which means it was very dry… again.
Can't fault bar staff, really nice and polite. Serving food staff concentrate far too much on coach parties and seem to ignore other guests, we really struggled to get there attention. As for breakfast… well that was really good, no problems whatsoever.

Not your 5 star hotel; it's a countryside lodge and it is an excellent place to put a night — quiet town and there's a wool centre just within walking distance, very informative for kids. Room is clean, walls are a bit thin. Breakfast was very lovely! It was only a night's stay and it was alright. Was quite skeptical initially but it was sorted when we were there. Also, I like how they actually communicate with their customers first before they arrive to ensure smooth check in upon arrival. The only downside is internet connection is slow to non-existent. Nevertheless, on a positive note it's a form of technology detox!

My wife and I have just returned from the Rob Roy Hotel Aberfoyle Scotland what a very run down looking place from the outside walls of the hotel in need of a bit of paint and bits of paper tissues all about the grounds, the inside was slightly better but in need of a refurbishment although they had made some headway in the bar area. The food was only just acceptable on one evening in particular I had pasta for my evening meal with one piece of garlic bread I asked the waiter if it was possible to have another piece he said he would check with the chef when he came back he said I could but there would be a charge I said what A CHARGE FOR ONE PIECE OF GARLIC BREAD TO GO WITH MY MAIN MEAL I said you must be joking he said no so I told him politely what to do with his garlic bread. We would not give this hotel a one star let alone two. Do not think we will be going back there again.

The staff where friendly and helpful willing to take the time to explain the area and answer any questions you might have. When it came to the food it was good but wished there was more to the dinners as for the breakfasts it is a buffet style you can eat as much as you like. The rooms are nice and simple and clean the only thing I could not get over is the bed was as hard as a rock. All in all I liked this hotel and would stay again despite the hard beds.

Enjoyed a special deal good value long week-end. Room fairly good. Food spot on. Staff helpful. Brilliant for the money we paid.

The four of us (age between 57 and 62) stayed at the Rob Roy October 5th 2009 for 5 days. When we first saw the Rob Roy from the bus we thought hi-de-hi, because of the block of rooms facing you, but the holiday and the hotel turned out to be lovely. The rooms were clean and maid came in every day. I took pics of the food because we couldnt believe how good they looked and tasted. Breakfast was buffet style and as much as you could eat. As for evening meal there was a choice of 3 starters, mains, and desserts. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we would have liked the bar open til 11.30pm but you cant have everything. They didnt push you out of the bar it just closed around 11pm. We had a fantastic coach driver (Keiron) and we would definately visit Rob Roy again. Thanx to all who we met and befriended during our stay.
