Exceptional in every way! My husband and I enjoyed every second of our weekend at this beautiful, friendly hotel. The location and magnificence of the building and surrounds were something, but the warm and welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, were something else. The food was also top class. Something you usually don’t get in some hotels, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner! We will be back. Highly recommend.

Fabulous hotel tucked quietly away on the far side of loch Awe. it's not going to impress if your looking for sleek, modern rooms. This is an historical building with an ambience to match. No huge telly, limited Wi-Fi but perfect in it's quiet unasumming way. The food and service is first class and the fact it's hidden deep in the hills is worth the 6 mile drive from Taynauilt.

Unfortunately bad experience outweighs good one. Only spent one night there but will not come back and won't recommend anyone going there. Owner does not have required level of customer service to be a hotel manager.
We do appreciate discount given regarding horrible experience. Plus side at hotel: — other staff was brilliant except "I am the owner not manager"
— food was cooked to perfection (only thing worth paying)
— beautiful building; location
— comfortable bed Minuses of the hotel: — broken door handles; lamps
-hairs on dinner table; pubes in bath
-thin walls so can hear other guest dogs howling all night
-no staff on site at nighttime (quite scary when fire alarm goes off in middle of night and no-one there to take charge — GUESTS HAD TO DISABLE FIRE ALARM! )
-other guests complaining about management and amenities
-no drinks offered after 15 minutes of waiting in bar area.

Nice hotel but be aware of risks from the nearby loch water — our dog died. A nice old hotel with many great staff and good food. Chris and Maxine were fantastic We held our civil partnership there several years ago. We visited for a three night post lockdown stay but checked out after one night. I wish we were told of the risk to our dog from the potentially toxic water in Loch Awe. Food is amazing — and the views and location. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The grounds are beautiful.
Rooms aren’t made up because of COVID — but apart from that — superb.

Amazing experience, beautiful gardens and fantastic view of loch Awe. Staff were so helpful especially Chris and Martin couldn’t do enough to help. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel 😊

Brilliant weekend here on the weekend we were due to get married. We were given a surprise upgrade which was incredible and so kind of the people at ardanaiseig. Cant speak highly enough of the staff, will definitely be back. Thank you again for making our weekend as special as it could be.

What a lovely stay we recently had here with family for my partners mums special birthday, the food was amazing and staff couldn’t do enough for you and made us feel very welcome, considering it is a very unprecedented time due to Covid-19 — the rooms were clean and beds extremely comfortable, we enjoyed our stay here very much. Not stayed there for a couple of years, outstanding setting, beautiful rooms and the food was outstanding, the chef at that time was the forager guy.

My family filled Ardanaiseig for my daughter’s wedding. It was a dream come true. The building has CHARACTER — and for us Americans, it was like being in a fairytale. The staff was stellar and were so friendly and helpful, we were delighted with them. The food was very good, but the grounds were the best part. Stunning beauty all around. I cannot recommend Ardanaiseig highly enough. Go!

Our second time in this lovely hotel. First time we got married there in 2006. On return to this lovely part of the world we found only the management had changed. Still very opulent and romantic. Luxurious but warm and homely. Absolutely love it here.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Beautiful grounds, fantastic service, and an overall magical experience.

We have stayed many times over the years and were so happy to see it in such good hands. Welcoming and warm as always, this is a magical place.

Stayed there twice in the past. Loved the experience. Now under wonderful new management. We arrived one afternoon for tea with two friends, one in a wheelchair. The manager could not have been nicer. This is a magical gem in the most beautiful location. And unspoilt treasure, lovingly looked after.
Will return as soon as possible.

Just been down for a walk to the hotel. Decided to pop in for coffee, not a sole around… 10 minutes later still no one… People leaving after stay, but no staff. Left and walked back the couple of miles.

Absolute heaven! Such a comfortable spot for a very grand hotel — the house itself is gorgeous but the grounds it sits on are. Out of the world. The staff couldn't be better & the food is fantastic!

A beautiful stay in the most amazing location. Very disappointed with the customer service of management staff — no acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary, even though I had emailed prior to our stay. Old management had made us feel like family on our previous visits.

What an incredible and atmospheric place. If you want a taste of true Scottish beauty then stay here! Ardanaiseig was one of our “must do” stops for our mini moon and what place. We love coming to Scotland but have never experinced fine dining whilst watching red and black dear play aside a magnificent loch. The bedrooms blew us away with its four poster beds, ginormous bathroom and loch views. Smiles and warmest welcomes from the staff. My husband did a wee spot of fishing whilst I read my book under the biggest willow tree I have ever seen and nothing but the chatter of birds to listen to. Sheer bliss. ♥️♥️

Great place! Beautiful setting, excellent dinner. Stayed in the Boat Shed — very comfortable and stunning views of the loch. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed in June 2016 to stay for four days at the Ardanaiseig hotel. The hotel staff tries to fulfill all wishes, the building and the property or the garden are fantastic, like a journey through the trip. The food is a bit more expensive but absolutely worth the money and very delicious. The hotel is very remote and far from villages and towns, if someone wants to relax and get away from the daily routine, then this is the place to go. In no other holiday we came back as recovered as from Ardanaiseig. We can only recommend it and plan a holiday there again.

I photographed a wedding here and the place is simply stunning. You will struggle to find better scenery. The staff were very attentive and if you can try to get the boating cottage which is amazing.

We had our wedding in August at Ardanaiseig and it was the most wonderful experience.
Louise, David and the entire staff did an outstanding job, they made our special day PERFECT!
We stayed there 3 nights with most of our guests. We played games, ate great food, danced and had a very fun time.
The food was delicious, and the beautiful gardens, woods and lock Awe combined with the caring friendly staff made our fairytale wedding unforgettable. Our guests are still talking about our dream wedding and how wonderful Ardanaiseig and everyone there were!
We are forever thankful, and we hope to be back to visit many more times.

This is the place to go to get away from it all. Good food. Isolation. Countryside to die for.

I am so extremely impressed by this beautiful place, and the incredible staff. Our family & friends arrived for a three day stay, a group of 44 people. The food exceeded all of our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our every need. Our beautiful wedding couple, Lila & Scott enjoyed their wedding day without flaw. We had an amazing time at the Ardanaiseig! Both the guests and the staff exchanged tears when it was time to say goodbye! I truly can't say thank you enough!

Ardanaiseig was an absolute gem! A lovely manor house tucked off the beaten path in the countryside, everything about our stay here was wonderful. The entire staff was absolutely superb. The house is beautiful and full of character. Our room (we stayed in Cruachan in the upper corner) was lovely, with wonderful views and a four poster bed. Dinner was divine — and a stroll through the grounds was lovely. This was the perfect hotel in the Scottish Countryside, we only wish we could have stayed more than one night!

If you like an old fashioned hotel and service go here. Very limited bar which ran out of most beers for several customers within a very short period. Most things on bar menu were not available. Staff were friendly but most were Temps and had not been trained up. Food in the restaurant was good. Rooms need sympathetically updated to bring them into this century. Owners need to spend money to bring this once great hotel back up to standard.

This is an incredible place. We had afternoon tea at this beautiful hotel. I can't believe this hotel exists. Tea and cakes were lovely as were staff and surroundings. Would love to go there again soon.

Lovely get away. They have beautiful views from rooms. Rooms are lovely and big. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The chef is sent from heaven. Could not say 1 bad thing about this place. If your aim is to have a little get away from busy city life this is the place for you.

Staff were always at hand to help if we needed anything. We had a beautiful boat ride on the loch where we visited the ruins of a castle. The food was fantastic and more than worth it.

Me and my wife had a wedding ceremony in Ardanaiseig in November 2015. We loved it there. It is located in a really beautiful place and it is so peaceful there. We looked at the pictures on their website and it doesn't reflect the reality though — in real life the hotel in way better shape and feels really lux. The staff is very friendly and professional — best hotel experience that we have received I can honestly say. Definitely worth a visit and we will definitely be back :)

Visited here in august for a weekend in the rose cottage what an amazing place the grounds are well looked after and the service is second to none the staff are well presented and cannot do enough for you David the manager went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and made us completely at home which helps when travelling with an adventurous 8 month old boy Louise Lauren and all the reception staff made our stay wonderful I would highly recommend Ardanaiseig for a quiet break the views are outstanding and perfect for relaxing walks and I recommend trying to find the secret garden we will be returning and I urge anyone considering it to put Ardanaiseig at the top of your list 5 star all the way and the restaurant food is amazing and they are more than willing to accommodate everyone's needs can't praise the hotel enough 5 stars.

Such a charming, old school, wonderful place. The people are lovely and the location stunning. The whisky is pretty fine too.

Simply amazing. We spent an idyllic time here walking the grounds, sitting by the fire drinking G&T's, and having a superb meal. The room itself was spectacular, with a view over the Loch. Wonderful time, and we'll be back soon.

Spent a great day and night here thanks to kids birthday present, lovely location and atmosphere, the food was fab as was the whisky!
