Staff couldn’t be any more helpful, we had a problem with our room nothing major but got swapped into a twin room with a cracking view.

This is an amazing hotel set within beautiful scenery which overlooks Loch Long. The food is amazing, the interior is immaculate & classic. Additionally, the staff are welcoming and friendly.

Absolutely outstanding food, myself and my wife love overnight stays but this by fay was different level. Surprised to see it wasn't busier. 100% will be back.

Stayed here a couple of times, nice Hotel the staff are really friendly and welcoming, really nice atmosphere and doggy friendly too, food good too.

Great wee hotel with pleasant staff, clean rooms and great food. Couldn't ask for more. We shall definitely return as we have 3 times already in tge past.

My partner was given a voucher for her 60th birthday last year so we decided to stay at a hotel closer to home and we upgraded our room to a loch view. Receptionist was absolutely delightful, our room was absolutely fantastic with a great view over Loch Long. Room was spotless as was our ensuite. Lovely decor in the room and ensuite. Food was great, nothing untoward about it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I have read some pretty bad reviews about this hotel but myself and partner were absolutely delighted with our three days staying here. I personally think that if people visit places and give negative reviews then they should just stay at home. This hotel maybe a wee bit old but everything was great.

Like a trip back in time to the 1970’s, small stuffy room, went back to reception and asked about a room change, told hotel was full (which it obviously wasn’t) but they could find a room if we wanted to pay for an upgrade, did give us a fan to move the hot air around though. Breakfast was at best ok, glad we only booked one night, never be back here.

Terrible view with no natural ventilation allowed in via the window on what is a very warm and stuffy night.
A complaint was made but nothing was done. Other rooms were available but this would cost £30. Hotel clearly cares about revenue over guest welfare. My parents are in their 60s and had to stay in this poorly ventilated room with the view of a brick wall.

The atmosphere is fantastic for anyone looking for a lovely relaxing break, with outstanding scenery & staff who go above & beyond to make sure your stay is perfect, Hamish is an excellent Host for whom nothing is too much bother 10/10 guys.

This hotel has probably seen better days. Location is great but the rooms are really outdated (especially the bathrooms) and with paper-thin walls and doors, you have the pleasure of sharing your neighbours' intimacy… Breakfast was OK. The only positive thing worth mentioning is the service which was good. In summary, completely overpriced for what it is… Sadly the whole village does not fare any better, with half of its shops being closed for good.

Dirty bathroom with mold all over the walls. Very friendly stuff and probably historic place but very low standard. 30£/night would be ok but 70£ was definitely not worth it.

This is quite a historic hotel, situated right on the Loch. Plenty of parking and the room I was in was fine, with nice views out over the loch and mountains. The staff were also ok. The hotel is in need of a refurbishment but if/when this is completed it will be a really great place to stay and explore the surroundings.

Positivepoints: view of the lake, very good breakfast, accepts dogs for 10 extra pounds per day per dog but only in certain parts of the hotel, presence of a lounge area. Negatives: Extremely noisy: neighbors' conversations, slamming doors. (no way to rest), grime in the bathtub, stained towels, towels placed on the floor in the hallway before being distributed in the rooms. Generally speaking: a hotel that deserves a complete renovation as well as a rereading of hygiene rules.

We have been visiting The Articular Hotel for several years now and have never been disappointed. It is a friendly hotel with marvellous staff and a scenic position on the shores of Loch Long. If you are prepared to pay the supplement fora loch side room it is well worth the extra. Most of the rooms are spacious with a good en suite but some of the cheaper rooms need to be extended to make them comfortable. As I have not stayed in one of those for some time so maybe they have been altered now. The food is presented well with portions far too big for me and breakfast is very good. A big thankyou to the staff who are pleasant, helpful and very hardworking.

Stayed for one night as a stopover whilst travelling further north. Welcoming, clean, efficiently run Hotel overlooking the top end of Loch Long. Food was good, the bar well stocked and they have live entertainment in the evenings. Would certainly stay there again.

Pretty nice hotel for the middle of nowhere. Food was decent and the people were nice. No air conditioning, but the great views made up for that.

Nice little hotel. We got an extremely good deal of 2x nights 2x breakfasts and 1x evening meal for about £60. The decor is quite outdated and the walls are very thin. But the staff were really helpful and it was pretty clean. Its not super fancy but does the job.

Great location with brilliant views onto Loch Long. Decor is a bit shabby n it's a bit run down, could do with an upgrade. First room we got given was small n had dirty bed sheets though the Manager apologised and moved us to a larger room which was nice, also got a free bottle of wine with our dinner. The food at dinner was quite nice, 3 options for each course and you can pay a supplement for food off the other menu. Breakfast was also ok. Overall, had a nice stay and staff were friendly, was worth what we paid.

Reception staff helpful and welcoming. However waitress in charge of dinning room was extremely rude. When reception staff pointed this out to her she apologised. However meal was spoiled by this incident.

Really enjoyed the friendly cozy atmosphere at this Hotel, room was clean and tidy food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it and will stay here again.

Where to start arrived with the dog's not at all welcoming. Room was a disgrace we asked to be moved they said no. Cracked ceiling cracked wash basin stained toilet seat. Out of date biscuits. Went down stairs later on I asked for Sunday roast told it was only the prime beef my partner got this shocking portion for the money I got chicken fajitas 4 pieces of chicken. We met some really nice people then they closed the bar really bad attitude. Breakfast was shocking I asked for poached eggs they said there is none as we don't have vineger… I didn't eat the breakfast was absolutely disgusting we didn't wait about got our stuff and left I Will never return to this hotel it's dirty and dated and no character very plain reception the village inn next to it is amazing. Disappointed customer.

From check in to check out our stay was fantastic. Staff were very helpful and cheery. We were given a loch view room which was superb. Rooms are as others say tired and dated but lovely, clean and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel were both tasty and served quickly. The location of the hotel is the real selling point as minutes from loch lomond and on the shores of loch long. Very easy to get to and a great base for exploring. We would consider visiting again.

Spent a night here with my wife. Booked a superior room at the front, great views of the loch. Only black Mark on the room was a damp stain at the window — as I am in the damp and rot business, I think I will leave my card as this will turn out to be a problem. Note to hotel — email me and I will give you a good price! Good choice for evening meal. Steak was as requested and plenty chips and some salad. Staff were on the ball, could have slowed down a little and given you longer between courses. Clean room, (See above) linen etc. Entertainment on the Saturday was a Buddy Holly tribute, few hic — cups at the start with equipment which went full volume and bar staff got such a fright that glasses were dropped, that was entertaining! In summary, good hotel for a stop of, clean, friendly staff. Would book again.

Very very old and spoiled. Mattresses with lumps and walls with humidity.

Not sure what to write here. Two star hotel, so expectations were not too high. Reception staff was friendly, but not very helpful, although that depends on who was there. The manager kindly printed our boarding passes on request. But when we made notice of no hot water in our room (2 times), the employee just took a note. No further action was taken. It took several requests before the problem was looked after. They just don't seem to bother. Breakfast was fine. Bar staff was friendly. Nice meals, especially the curry's. Live music on some nights. Really terrible, therefore funny as well. Toilets on the grond floor are a no-mans land. Not cleaned in days with feces on the wall. The room was downright dirty. Stained sheets (wine? ). With fungus growing inside the shower, a lot of dirt in the ventilator, and a patchwork of repairs, the bathroom was not the best place to be. So. If you just need a place to sleep, and eat It's fine. Two stars well earned. If you like a nice, clean place: spend some more money and go to another hotel.

Unhelpful staff and a bad breakfast. Rooms unmaintained, out of date and not very clean. Arrochar deserves better than this.

Old, down hotel, Much we had not expected but for the price prefer to go across the street there is a 4 star B&B.
The rooms are musty and moldy, at least the bed was Clean. Breakfast adapts to the rest of the Hotel.

Older lady at desk not very welcoming. Hotel very dated. Our room had stains on the walls. Spider and cobwebs above the curtain. Heating we could not control manually. It was so hot we had to open the windows. Lamp did not work. Shower curtain all pink and mould stains at the bottom. Disgusting! Breakfast, the host took our room number and said help yourself to the buffet. Orange juices were all warm. Milk was warm. Very very basic. I asked if that's all there was to offer. The host says no, the menu is there on your table. No information of this on arrival. The cooked breakfast was minimal. One sausage. One uncooked fried egg, one potato scone, one piece of bacon and black pudding. Toast. There could have been more of an option. Baked beans, mushrooms, scrambled, poached eggs. For such an outstanding hotel in a perfect location. Just disappointed. Lunch meals were skimpy for what I was paying. The entertainment was shocking. Really shocking. Won't be back!

Seems to be a popular hotel, I had the impression that it was fully booked when I stayed. Old and very datet rooms. Hotelier and staff unfriendly and I had the impression that they just bought the hotel without any hotelexperience. Gave no welcome feeling at all. I would only return If there would be no hotel in a cirkel of 50 miles. Most bizar was the entertainment after diner. Musician had severall tapes and pretended to play different guitars. He didn't, he had no idea how to play or airplay the guitar. It was sadly amusing.

Nice hotel in a great location. As mentioned, it could use some minor renovation as some parts are white dated, but the experience as a whole is quite enjoyable and generally very clean and well organised. Adding to that the decent prices, this place is a good pick!

Keep your hands off me! The disgust limit is reached very quickly, room, bathroom. Special attention is paid to the dishes!
On every wooden footbridge it sleeps better than in the beds, not even for one night.

It's a beautiful location, right next to the Loch. Very friendly staff. The hotel is a bit dated and definitely needs an update but most importantly it is very clean and you get everything you need regarding toiletries, bedding, towels, coffee and tea facilities and a TV. Another great thing which is really important: there is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel that is a decent speed. I would say it's a decent place to stay where you can relax knowing the rooms are clean, you can use Wi-Fi and the bar and food is pretty good.

Not clean, dated. Mold on walls, wallpaper starting to almost fall off. Coffee cup at breakfast wasn't clean. Wi-Fi was horribly slow. Location was nice. Would not recommend.

Spent many a weekend in this hotel, walking the hills, cobbler etc, hotel is very good value for the money, found the staff to be very helpfull and pleasant, it has a very comfortable lounge bar with weekend entertainment, So good I was even on the dance floor, drink Prices not over the top, Met nice people on many occasion, Will be back, Defo.

Busy hotel in the summer season I'm sure not so much at other times. The check in staff asked my name and I gave it. He gave me the twin room which was booked. Later on it seemed that the room had been booked by another similar name. Oops. Complete mix up and not a problem. However the dirty looks from the guy at the front desk from then on were not called for. Like we had purposely spoiled his day. The dining room was empty if people and staff. Even though we had been advised to book. When we then went to eat in the bar area we were given more dirty looks and told to cancel our booking. Again by the guy from the front desk. All the rest of the staff were nice and the food wasn't bad either. Breakfast was excellent and the setting is absolutely stunning.

Had a lovely 2 night stay here. First night was in a room on the back as we didn't realise we had to ask for a room with a view when booking but a quick word with reception and they were able to move us to the front overlooking the Loch for the next night. Very friendly staff.

In any case, avoid! Mold in the bathroom, Breathing is barely possible to immediately Scraping in the throat! A number of complaints snapped. Overbearing and bad staff in the Restaurant. To drink not even a bit was offered. As a "Standard room-guest" is treated here as a guest second class.

In short: you better take another Hotel. Am with reviews always careful and hold back as much. But this is not a Hotel I would recommend. That the furniture, etc. Are Old, doesn't bother me. You can also expect for a £ 60 no luxury. But Cleanliness. And there was hardly…

While the room I used had a lovely view of the Loch, the lock on the door didnt work. I was only staying one night so it didnt bother me but I wouldnt want to leave my stuff in there if I went out for the day. Breakfast was lovely, but the staff were hovering around seemingly quite bored. It's not a 5 star resort by any means; you get what you pay for. Despite the quirks, its very well priced if you're stopping for the night passing through, as I was.

Nicely placed, food was nice and staff friendly but in desperate need of professional training. Table not laid out for breakfast and tables appeared only to be cleared when needed to seat residents. At breakfast no one appeared to be served with the correct meal and at a table oposite they completely forgot about the gentleman's porridge. Bar is poorly stocked and staff didn't appear trained for the job. Ice bucket which we took to our room on the first night was not cleared the following day, we mentioned this to the staff who asked if we could go back to our room to collect, we did suggest it should have been collected during the day by housekeeping. The room was tiny, the shower had no means to adjust the temperature, anyone sitting on the toilet needs to take care not to burn their leg on the towel radiator. If you are looking for somewhere very basic with reasonable food and your not fussed about service fine, if you're looking for an enjoyable experience find somewhere else.

Stayed here just after Easter with other half. Had a lovely time room warm and clean. Ate in both bar and restaurant food very nice no complaints. Staff friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Great hotel, Wi-Fi wasn't great though…

Recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Staff were really great, nothing too much trouble. Food in the restaurant was really good, top quality. Would certainly stay again.

Service of this hotel is appalling. When I turned up to reception I had to wait for some time to be served. I was then encouraged to book a meal time when there was only 5 other couples in the dinning room. The meal was a big joke with one oat cake making up my pate starter and then the waiter forgot the drinks. Main course of rolled turkey breast over a lump of mash was disappointing for an £18 meal. The shower was luke warm and weak and when I tried to check out at 7:05 in the morning I was told I had to wait until reception came in at 7:30. When I questioned where the night Porter was as I presumed I could settle my bill with them, I was told they finished at 7:00. What sort of hotel is it that can not arange for a cross over of night cover and day reception for a 30 minute period. The room was lovely but the magement and there choice of staff let this place down. Would I stay again. No way. Could I recommend it, yes I could of you want to experience a little of what faulty towers would be like to experience but nothing else.

We stayed here for one night only in June 2015 The hotel overlooks the loch and is easy to find. Room was nice and clean, and the bathroom was a good size, although the shower was very poor. Unfortunately we arrived quite late, 8pm, and after unsuccessfully trying to find food outside the hotel, returned to find that we have missed last reservation for dinner, so we ended up at the local chippie just up the road, which we can highly recommend. Breakfast was cooked to order, so was nice and hot Arrochar is a lovely quiet village but one night was sufficient.

Initial impression was not good, Staff all seemed as though they didnt want to be there. Bar service was extreemly slow and comical due to the complete lack of knowledge by the staff. Food was disgusting in the restaurant with the deserts apparantly being microwaved to defrost before serving. I could go on. Steer clear of this one.
