We've stayed here a few times. Rooms are great; clean and well maintained. Staff are always polite and friendly, especially the concierge at the main door! We always opt for the DBB option and it never disappoints. Food had been phenomenal each time and both food and drinks are reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back!

Stayed here a few times, once at a wedding & few times for the Races, perfect location and lovely hotel. Breakfast is delicious.

Absolutely loved my meal last night, maybe the best place I've eaten in for a long time. Service was First Class and the cocktails were even better! can't believe its on my door step and I had never been. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I got married at the western house in November and it was the best day. From the day we had our viewing right through to our big day everyone was so helpful. The staff were lovely from the start to the very end of the day. I would highly recommend the western house for a wedding and also for a weekend stay. Emma x.

The rooms are fabulous but I absolutely loved my afternoon prosecco tea and dinner. Staff are just so nice and friendly. Very helpful and nothing was a problem. I was made to feel very very welcome. Would highly recommend a stay here. Loved it. ❤️

We had our work night out here last night. Thank you for a fantastic night. We have been to party nights all over and the Western House is by far the best. From the magician, to the food, party games, music and the staff who were all lovely and went above and beyond. Can we book for for next year? 😉 Oaks Vet Centre.

Just home from our Xmas night out at western house and we have been to a few all over Ayrshire and I can honestly say this was the best by far from start to finish the staff were amazing the food was excellent and the dj and music was terrific thank you so much for making it a terrific night 👌

Just arrived home today (Friday 20th august) from a week stay, the hotel is lovely, the staff r so friendly and helpful, our room was very spacious, deffo be back.

We stayed as attending the races which is right next door. Perfect location and for a wedding which we saw, The service From the first phone call to book afternoon tea until we left was excellent. Staff so helpful and friendly. Food was delicious and the surroundings top class and tasteful. Will definitely be back again.

My granddaughter & I had a lovely stay staff were very thoughtful & so friendly it was just perfect we will most definitely be back soon.

We got married at the Western House in Nov 2018 and returned for an overnight for our anniversary. They were kind enough to upgrade us to the bridal suite for the night, which was lovely as the room is beautiful and brought back memories of our wedding day. The staff were brilliant, as they have been every time we’ve stayed. They are always so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The measures put in place made us feel very safe, and it really didn’t feel much different from any other stay which really put us at ease. Would recommend the Western to anyone and hopefully we will be back soon.

Lovely overnight stay at the Western House Hotel using vouchers we got as an anniversary gift. Quality of the food was first class, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Very comfy bed! Staff were really friendly and could not have done enough. Will definitely be back!

Very comfortable rooms, relaxed atmosphere, and the 3 course meal was excellent, also was the best breakfast ever, very very tasty.

We had a great time at this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms immaculate and comfy bed. Dining to die for, service very good. Will defo be back and maybe next time races won’t be cancelled. Lol xx.

We had two nights whilst attending a friend's wedding and it was a great experience. Food was good, particularly breakfast, but the staff make this hotel as everyone of them were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Will be back.

Me and my husband got married here on 02/03/2019 and we had an amazing day! From start to finish everything ran perfectly and we could not fault the staff in any way, they were so helpful throughout the whole day checking up on us and keeping all of our guests happy! The hotel it’s self is a stunning venue for a wedding, from the inside to the beautiful grounds surrounding it. I would highly recommend Western House Hotel and we are so looking forward to returning to the hotel soon for a nice meal.

My wife and I have just had our wedding day at western house and would like to thank all the staff for their amazing service and attention to detail, the food was fantastic I can't recommend this hotel highly enough all my guests were very impressed by every single aspect of the day, I can't praise the hotel highly and wish you all the success for the future.

My parents held their golden wedding anniversary at the Western House Hotel recently and even though the food and surroundings were excellent it was the staff who truly made my experience exceptional. They were helpful and attentive with a genuine empathy for all my parents guests. Their attitude and professionalism were excellent and I can not thank them enough for making my parents anniversary a day to remember.

Western House is, by any standards, an excellent hotel. Just spent my second, sports related, stay there and it was, more or less, exactly right for me. The restaurant is of a very high standard and has a varied and not too expensive menu. Breakfast is very good value and is ell served. The only slight down-side in the room was that there are not enough electrical sockets. For modern travellers a hotel room needs more than one available socket! If you want to heat the kettle you cannot charge your phone/tablet/laptop/camera etc. All in a very good hotel and worth the extra expense.

Stayed here when there was a mix up with my hotel. Place is gorgeous, colourful garden. Staff are very friendly and service impeccable. Rooms are beautiful, was a pleasure staying here.

Our hotel double booked us and sent us to The Western Hotel, we had a great time here, the rooms were large and luxurious. The reception staff were very friendly and really helpful. We only had breakfast in hotel but the food was lovely and the service was fabulous, we were very well taken care off.

Beautiful hotel and the staff were fantastic! Amazing service and they could not have been kinder or more helpful. Our room was gorgeous and better than most 5 star hotels we’ve stayed at. Dinner and breakfast were superb! We will definitely visit again!

Had our wedding here on Saturday 23/06/2018. Despite it being race day there was not one hiccup, staff couldn't do enough for us even offered us tickets to the racing the night before the wedding which we sadly refused due to wanting an early night! Can't thank Jean Kerr enough for all the communication in the lead up to the wedding nothing was a problem for her and also Laura our wedding co ordinator on the day who was even helping my dad with the ironing. Made our day really magical not to mention everyone was very impressed with the wedding meals, Canapes and evening buffet. Shout out to the security guard who stopped the people attending the races from cutting across the garden by telling them we were priority and they weren't so they weren't allowed. Thanks again from Mr and Mrs Talent.

Outstanding friendly service. Staff members seemed to intuitively know what the guests needed and intervened to assist. They did not cross your path without and cheerful and authentic greeting. Diner and breakfast were both three courses of heaven. Our waitress didn't meet a beat. The facilities were absolutely luxurious and the small touches superb. There was even an option to select goose down or duck down pillows for the big comfy beds.

I was at Western house for a birthday dinner. We had a table for six of us and everything went smoothly. The service was fast and on point. The location is perfect as it allows for alot of parking and is very easy to get too. Over all drink and food was perfect, the staff were lovely and the night was a blast. Would definitely go back.

Fabulous experience at this hotel. Could not fault it in any way. Lovely bedrooms, great food and friendly and helpful staff could not have been better. Impressed by the smallest attention to detail. Would definitely recommend for a large or small wedding, or just a weekend away. The hotel is set in a beautiful landscaped garden perfect for a wedding reception or a party.

Excellent hotel in a quiet location overlooking Ayr Racecourse and a short drive to the Ayr Campus of the University of the West of Scotland. Friendly, helpful staff, great food, the Eggs Benedict were by far the best I've ever had. Worth speaking to the hotel direct, we got a great dinner, bed and (full) breakfast deal.

I absolutely love this place. My wedding was here and our day was amazing! I have been back a few times since then and it has never disappointed.

We (2 adults and 3 kids) stayed here for a couple of days for the Easter holidays and we were impressed by the luxury of the rooms, the service was fantastic and the staff were lovely. I will definitely be back to stay.

I don’t often give out five star reviews. However on this occasion I am comfortable in doing so only after a day of our three day stay to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. There was an I. T issue with the door key but it was sorted as quickly as they could. We were looked after very well, during the short period we could not access the room we wanted. The management and staff were fabulous. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the complimentary bottle of wine was a very thoughtful gesture. If day two and three are anything like today, Facebook will need to find a sixth star.

Went here for a wedding function in February. Nice hotel on the edge of Ayr racecourse. Looked typically pleasant on arrival. However I was really impressed when I went to my room, its size and it's comfort. Really felt like a vip. The food put on for the wedding feast was superb. I never had haggis as part of a starter before but this was perfect in size, presentation and taste! Nice hotel, superb service and facilities.

Beautiful hotel with comfortable rooms — I particularly liked the free apples cookies and hot chocolate provided! The bathrobes and slippers were also a nice touch. The restaurant served a great menu with original vegetarian options and fresh fish too. The staff at breakfast were particularly helpful, and offered to order almond milk in for my colleague next time she stayed there!

The food was perfectly done for myself and my wife. A most enjoyable experience with friendly and helpful staff and a wonderful atmosphere.

Situated beside Ayr Racecourse it is a good loxation for touring. Lovely gardens for walking and relaxing. Good restaurant, lovely food. Never stayed so can't comment on rooms or facilities.

We stayed here two nights ago. I have mobility problems and requested an accessible room. The room was in the courtyard with easy access to the room door from the disabled parking bay. Once inside the room the first thing I noticed was the space, which was big enough to manoeuvre a wheelchair anywhere. The bed was huge (even bigger than a super king! ), and extremely comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was also accessible and contained a large wet room style shower area. There was also a chair for use in the shower and the power of the shower was superb. The room also had a flat screen TV, desk, tea making facility, ironing board, iron, safe, luggage rest, table and three chairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I would thoroughly recommend staying here to anyone, with or without an accessible requirement.

Excellent, they had a wedding on the Saturday and Hogmany Ball Sunday. The staff were called upon to do a lot of hours and they never wilted, the customer service provided was above and beyond. The Hotel was very clean and an interesting building. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic place. My son had wedding there 03/12/17 could not fault a thing staff were absolutely fantastic. From moment we stepped into hotel till the moment we left in morning. Rooms were absolutely spotless not a thing out of place and to have house coats and slippers supplied was a blessing (as we forgot ours) meals meal was an absolute joy everything spot on. All the staff were so helpful and lady called Alison went above and beyond helping us including getting me a pair of slippers when my feet were sore later on after dancing in heels bliss would recommend this place so much.

It is so hard to put in to words how amazing this hotel is.
My husband & I got married here on 17.11.17 and it was a truly magical day. We had visited many venues and fell in love with the Western House due to the beautiful hotel, the stunning grounds and the wonderful staff! They had the full package!
Every member of staff couldn't be any friendlier and went the extra mile. The two wedding coordinators Jean & Laura are truly amazing! They could not have done enough right through from the planning until the day after the wedding when we left the hotel, the hospitality was excellent. Laura on the day was fantastic and I will be forever grateful for everything she done. She went above & beyond and nothing was a bother.
The meals were delicious, the set up was stunning and the rooms were pure luxury. We can't recommend the Western House enough! Our day was everything we dreamed of and more and it's down to the wonderful staff at the hotel. Thank you for everything, Mr & Mrs Curran xxx.

My husband and I had our wedding at western house on 9.9.17 and what can I say, it was the most perfect day ever. The staff are amazing and could not have done enough for us. From the first day when we went to view western house the wedding team were so helpful. On our big day the maryann who took care of us all day was amazing and nothing was a bother. We had the best day ever and I cant recommend this place enough. All our guests said it was the best wedding they had been to and complimented the staff for everything they done for us all. Soo big thanks to all staff at western house, yous are defo the best.

Very nice accommodation and fine food both dinner and breakfast. Wifi spotty in 3rd floor room. But great stay and would recommend.

The food was well prepared, however the stay was alright. It's super fancy when you walk in towards the reception area, however the rooms leave a bit to desire. The decor does not carry over. I can understand the marketing is probably more for equestrians, however it would be nice if the themes didn't end just in the common areas. The grounds were just as beautiful as the lobby, but once again, the rooms didn't carry over the same theme.

The Western House did us proud yesterday at my nephew's Wedding. A beautiful venue. The staff were excellent, courteous and professional and the food delicious. We all had a great day. Thank you ♡♡

Got married here last month, everything about this venue is perfect and our guests loved it. Food was out of this world and the rooms were beautiful not to mention comfortable. Staff couldn't do anymore for you. Will definitely be back for a cosy overnight in autumn.

We love going there for the food as it is a bit different from the norm. The breakfast menu has a varied range on offer and I don't normally eat breakfast but love smoked salmon and I have always been able to have that served to me. One point I must make it is not acceptable for a bar tender to use his fingers to lift sliced lemon and deposit into one's glass.

Great wedding venue. Beautiful gardens, rooms and atmosphere with an amazing group off staff. Very close to center of Ayr.

Decent enough for a wedding, not sure if I would stay there by choice. Great venue for the autumn and winter months weddings but summer weddings get a little to hot inside. (last visit the bar in the foyer took an age to serve! )

Attended a wedding at this location. Rooms were nice. Building and grounds were very nice. All the staff were excellent. Meals were good.

Stayed in courtyard room. Room very nice, very clean, very spacious. Staff were extremely helpful, a late night fire alarm was dealt with swiftly and impressively. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and were very pleased with both the food and the service. The waiter at our evening meal particularly couldn't have been more friendly or attentive.

Attended for a friend's wedding. Fantastic venue, well maintained, excellent food and welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

Really disappointing considering the room rate. £100 per night. Our room was ground floor, looked out over the car park and we had no net curtains or blinds which meant we couldn't have the curtains open without flashing people in the car park. Bathroom was disappointing too. Toiletries were lovely but had no hot water in the shower for about 10 minutes of running it. Generally for £100 a night I'd expect a lot more than this hotel had to offer.

I recently stayed here for a wedding and was rather underwhelmed with my stay. I'd start by saying that the staff were excellent and very helpful and attentive. However, we stayed in Room 301 and had the following issues; The shower would not hold a constant temperature and kept going freezing cold. Room 301 has the car park literally outside the window, which has no net curtains. This means we had to keep the curtains closed for our entire stay and a very gloomy room. (if you are an exhibitionist, this room would be awesome! ) There was black mould on the bathroom sink. There is no soundproofing between rooms, so you can hear EVERYTHING from surrounding rooms. Overall for a £100 a night hotel, I was very unimpressed. I've stayed in better Premier Inns!

Strong feeling of intense pressure by staff from other staff. Feeling of bitchyness. Trying to fit in shoes of a five star hotel. Food not very good ans atnosphere poor. Staff bitchy. Nasty and driven by your wallet size not wishes. Oh yeah and far too expesive. Avoid.

Lovely place to stay, immaculate and has everything you would need. Restaurant was interesting, worth a visit, good quality food, not cheap but then again good food isn't I guess.

I have had to write and complain about the above event and I am still awaiting a reply 5 weeks later. Function rooms cold, Food cold and had to be returned twice. Expensive waste of money and a poor way to treat customers. Staff admitted problem with heating and no supplementary heating organised. Most definately will not be back.
