Absolute pleasure staying here, the impeccable service, atmosphere, attention and attentive attitude, spotless room and all surroundings, highly recommended.

Discovered it's recently become dog friendly. Friendly barmaid and good food, extensive menu.

Myself and my daughter had a lovely lunch, piping hot and well presented. The barmaid was friendly and chatty, will go again.

This Hotel has certainly gone downhill one member of staff who was very pleasant doing almost everything reception bar and serving meals rooms in need of an overhaul supposed to be non smoking but smelt of smoke carpets sticky bathroom vanity light not working room cold and heater not working for £70 room a night could have found better actually if you choose to stay here book with travel republic same price and you get breakfast included although we won’t be back.

Words fail me nothing to do with overworked staff arrived Friday about 4.1 member of staff to answer reception bell outside plus serve everyone in bar "after that actually never saw anyone in it again still here half an hour and back to civilisation "Glasgow"rant is just about over 1 member of staff reception/bar/dinning room coach load of O. A. P she looked totally exhausted.

A wee inpromptue overnight stay… excellent gotel, delicious dinner.

Had a lovely meal here at the weekend. Food was delicious, will definitely be back.

Huge van and a car taking up two spaces in the car park meant that I had to park some distance away. Room and facilities decent enough but the windows really need a clean. Comfortable bed and very good shower.

Although the hotel is dated, and could use a facelift, the room was clean and well provisioned. Staff were helpful and friendly, the food was tasty and nicely presented, we dined in the Bistro. The evening rest was disturbed by a loud band, not very good, that started up at 9:30 and went till late. Because the inner city streets are one way it would have been helpful if the website took you to the carpark entrance and not the front door. It's quite difficult to then get on to the side street to access the carpark.

Quick check-in. Spacious room and bathroom, very clean and with all what we needed for spending a night in town. It is very well located in the centre and with a broad offer of food, both part of the hotel or in the area. The shower gel is very good :). I am not sure about parking in the area, but bus stops a few steps away.

Spending the day in Ayr, we had lunch in the bar of the hotel. Food was lovely and staff friendly and helpful. Was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Enjoyed it so much that we returned for our evening meal in the restaurant. Fish and chips looked delicious and I can recommend the home made lasagne. Once again the evening staff were lovely. We will definitely call in again. Good luck to the cheerful friendly barmaid who was working her first day on Monday.

Being at a junction in the centre of town means it's pretty traffic noisy. Bottles from the bar being emptied into bins under our window throughout the evening is very noisy. Although a very quaint and historical building the rooms are very dated decor and equipment wise, couldn't fault the ensuite though. The bath and shower were fantastic.

I always stop here for something to eat. The grub is alway been great.

Showerhead had no hook on the wall, so had to hold it. Low ceiling in my room and some low doorways (I'm only 6'3", so no giant). Pub closed at ten on a Monday. Otherwise, warm, comfy, pleasant, convenient and very inexpensive.

Lovely quaint hotel. Only used the bar for a meal. Food was lovely but service slow. Bit of an annoying bar staff she wouldn't leave us alone to enjoy our meal just kept nattering to us. All in all a lovely meal.

Visited the Ayrshire & Galloway as part of a pub crawl of real ale pubs in Ayr. There were 2 ales available, both of which were in good condition. The barman was knowledgeable about real ale and was an enthusiast.

Helpful, friendly receptionist. The room is spotless and the bed is comfortable.

Had a great night's sleep in this Centrally situated.

It was fine for an overnight stay. Clean, which is most important. Decor a bit tired, staff a bit abrupt, but it did the job we needed.

Saved our short break after been badly let down at our original accommodation in Wigtown.
Lovely warm welcome, allocated our room quickly, told everything we needed to know.
Great double room front facing. Clean comfortable, excellent ensuite with complimentary toiletries.

Ansolutely fab. The room was simple but just perfect. Thefood is stunning and staff were lovely and helpful. Couldn't fault it :) And very central to town.

Great place to stay central for everything. Comfortable rooms excellent staff especially our young waitress in the dining room very attentive without being over bearing.
Only complaint is next door in meridian I wasn't offered an alternative to chips

The hotel it's self is lovely. Food is amazing. Little over priced but it made up for it. Our room was very warm and being in a main street couldn't open our window to let some air in. It was clean, but smelt very "soapy" and irritated my nose. I tried to get some more light in our room as only 2 lights worked and I pulled back the curtains and the nets and the Windows were very dirty and had bird mess all over them. I understand that it's a town center and near coast. But they looked like they hadn't been done in a long time. With the money they must get a window cleaner once in a while won't cost much. We also ticked we wanted a car space when we stayed. We drove up from Hexham, near Newcastle and first night we managed to get one. Our last night we couldn't and got told nothing they can do and to park on main street and get up before the ticket inspectors came around. Our last morning there, we would love to have had I lie in but instead were up at 7:30am moving our car and thought what's the point in going back and left there and then. Also the staff we had were miserable. Doesn't take much to crack a smile for people paying to stay there. All in all they have 3 stars as hotel has potential and the food was nice.

Stayed here for a pwe g event last month. The staff are friendly and nice. But the room I stayed in was not great at all. The room stank off cigarettes and the bedsheet had looked liked it hasn't been washed in ages. There were loads of gray hairs wich looked like cats& breakfast was disgusting milk had things floating in it and the bacon smelt like it was off. The forks me & my friend were giving had dry bits off food on them. The end verdict is nice friendy staff. But that does not rekindle the 2 horroble nights there and the bad breakfast I gave it 3 stars because the reception were nice other than that it would be 1

###### AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST ########### Dirty rooms with pubic hair in bed and bathroom, cigarette burns on carpet and stank of tabaco smoke, the sheets on bed didnt look like they had been changed. Was scratching for about week after sleeping in bed, wouldnt surprise me if they had bed bugs. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. When asking about condition of room was told that room had been cleaned and if I didnt like I could go elsewhere, which would have been difficult seeing that I had an eight month old child and was checking in at night. Was due to stay for three nights, but checked into the Western House hotel for remainder. Warning do not stay in the ayrshire and galloway.

Stayed at this hotel at weekend and its honestly one of the friendliest ive ever stayed at. Room was clean and bright and the receptionist was very friendly. Food in cafe was amazing also with a beautiful cooked breaky! yum! ill def be back!
